Hi everyone, I’m experiencing some critical issues with Figma libraries and I’d love to get some insights from the community. Parent Component and Instance Connection is BrokenEven within the library file itself, instances are not properly linked to the parent component. When I modify the main component, the changes do not reflect in its instances, and sometimes the parent component cannot be located.  Instances in Linked Files Can't Find the Parent Component Team members linked their personal files to the library and used components from it. However, when selecting an instance and clicking "Go to Library," it navigates to the library file but does not take us to the exact location of the parent component. Additionally, when we try to "Swap Instance," the library does not appear in the list, and instead, it shows "Created in this file.” Does anyone know how to resolve this issue? I’d really appreciate any advice from those who have encountered similar problems 

I built a component, added a string variable, which I called from an on-click event setup on a button.  It was working great.  The next day the variables were gone, and because of it, I can’t control the action on the component. Here’s the local variables (I added a color and a second string, just for testing I really only need the first one in the list):  Here’s a screenshot showing what is available when I try to apply one of those variables (note, the variables are created right in this file, yet when I select “Created in this file” they don’t show up - those two variables that are displaying, are in a different collection, but there’s 8 other variables below those that don’t show either): I cannot figure out what happened.  They WERE showing up when I first created them, and I was using them successfully.  Now they’re not listed as available variables that can be applied.  You can see that they’re in the collection called “Routing Switcher” which was created right within this page.

Is there a way to add the other effects on figma slides such hover? Are there going to more animations for the objects in the future?

HiFor a testing phase of a prototype, I would like to collect1) the timestamp of every user interactions (clic, mouse movement, keyboard digit etc).2) Number of click on certain buttonsIt is possibile withing Figma? I don't quite understand why I have 3 collections that I set different modes - responsive grid, font size, newsletter3 collections with mode currently, I have design for newsletter in desktop and mobile version I wanted to assign newly created “newsletter” collection to desktop and mobile so I create Desktop and Mobile mode in my newsletter collection but this collection just won't show in Appearance and also any value I try to search  previously, in my newsletter Desktop 600px, I still can see “responsive grid” and “font size” collection appear in Appearance, but Mobile only show “font size” collection, but now, I don't know why both of Desktop and Mobile can only see “font size” in Appearance now there must be something I don't know about using Mode and Appearance, I thought it is for responsive and light/dark mode, but I have no idea what is the restriction now, also i thought as long as I set something in the Local Variables, I can search them while setting the values. my initial t

Hey everyone! I’m trying to export multiple frames as a PDF, but it looks like the 'Export frames as PDF' feature is no longer available. I’ve checked on my Education plan, my company’s Enterprise plan, and a free account—none of them have the option. Has this feature been removed or relocated? Also, I used to be able to export PDFs with embedded videos, but now they just appear as images instead of videos. Has anyone else encountered this issue or found a workaround?

Hey everyone! I used to export frames as a PDF in Figma, and any embedded videos would remain playable inside the PDF. When opening the file in Adobe Acrobat, the videos would autoplay without needing to click anything. However, now when I export, the videos are converted into static images instead. Has anyone else experienced this change? Is there a way to keep the videos embedded and playable like before?

The Slides file is in the same space with my design system files but I cannot see my published colours and text styles within Slides. Is this a known issue or am I missing something?

I am building a shopping cart prototype using variables and for one of the items I have added a counter and a subtotal field that multiplies the item count x price and displays the subtotal.The subtotal field for some reason is displaying 799 (which is the price of one of the other items that gets added to the cart earlier in the user flow) until i click a + on the counter and then it works properly.Is there some way to get that field to display 0? I have tried creating an instance and resetting the instance and all kinds of fun stuff. 

I was wondering why the developers are not matching my design settings, and that is because the settings are simply missing. Here is my UI settings for the interaction: And here is what the developers see: There isn’t even a transition duration? Does anyone know why this is happening? Now I have to write out all the animations in the hand-over ticket? 

Hello! Guys, wondering if anyone has faced the issues while operating in Figma with the design tablets like Wacom and Huion. Basically, I use the Huion tablet with the stylus to do my design work but with Figma, it is overshooting in drag while using the pan tool ‘It just run-off the screen’. Just want to know if it is the issue with Figma not supporting these sorts of devices?

Hey there, we’re planning to run an external tool, which uses the Figma API to edit a existing component in a figma file and generates images based on the variants which are associated to the component. The problem is, that currently the REST API does not allow to write these kind of operations. We’re falling back to the plugin API, which currently is only available inside the Figma app, when a user is currently logged in. By automating these steps, we found out that: Sometimes a captcha is used to prevent these kind of operations Giving x successful login attepts, the user is blocked for a amount of 60 minutes We have the following questions: Is it allowed to use such automation tools (ex. Selenium)? Is there any plan which allows these kind of operation for external systems? Are there any plans in the near future to support writing and exporting in the REST API, which are currently only supported by the plugin API? Best regards, Jan

I am not a Figma expert by any means, but have been working hard to learn and have spent countless hours to create a prototype for a project I was working on. All of a sudden, I must have hit some shortcut keys, my whole project lost all fidelity, and this is what it now looks like: It was very high fidelity and colorful. Does anybody know how to fix this?

I have a dot that when you hover it should animate in a box and circle with data (it’s for an animated timeline). I have created two frames one with the stand alone dot and then a second frame with that stand alone dot with data floated in with the hover connections in place in prototype mode. When I go to preview it, I scroll down to that section and hover on the dot and it starts to animate in the other items and quickly sends me back to the top of the previous frame. How do I get it to stay in place? Help!

Hello, I can’t find anything about it as the keywords for my question describe something totally different. Now, we know the components in Figma on default are white background and this purple dotted background. Sometimes, when I create a component (especially from an element that’s already there), it doesn’t add the background or purple border.Now, of course you can create it manually but is there a way to just use this styling with one click or a shortcut so that a component becomes visibly a component (white background / purple dashed border)?Second question: is there a way to change this default styling of components (white / purple)?

Hello everyone,I created a project on Figma about two years ago, but I can’t find it anymore. I’m wondering if there’s a way to recover deleted files, even beyond the 30-day trash period.Is there an option to export a full dump of my account, including deleted files?Or does Figma permanently delete them with no way to recover them?I have already checked:✅ The trash bin✅ My file history✅ Old links and emails✅ Other possible accounts I might have usedIf anyone has faced this issue before or knows a solution, I’d really appreciate your help! Hello, I was the owner of an account but created a new account under new one for school. I transfered ownership of Team project folder from my old account to another before I deleted the old account. However, after I deleted the old account I am no longer able to access the Team project folder even though I transferred ownership. Is it possible to recover these files to my new account? Hi everyone, I have a design system library that I publish regularly. This library is being used in other project files. Recently I noticed that whenever I publish an update to the design system library I encounter the following three scenarios: The project files using the design system library is correctly receiving notice of all updates. I click “Update all” and it successfully reflects all changes. The project is correctly receiving notice of all updates, but clicking the “update all” button won’t reflect the updates. So, no changes at all. The “update all” button remains. Not receiving notice of the updates at all. What I tried I have read other threads in this forum, where some users suggest to repair various connections, which I did to no avail (also, the same design system library was successfully published and updated before). My questions Is this a bug? Is this a traffic bandwidth limitation? Is there a methodology that I’m not aware of that prevents this from happenin
