Billing confusion

What if I have a professional plan on my own and my friend has a professional plan on his own.
What happens when we want to collaborate on the same file? Do I have to pay an extra seat for him again?

For now — yes, you do. 

But Figma will launch Connected Projects soon. You can wait until that.
