Hi I have an issue where I have a Frame with Auto Layout applied, featuring 20px padding on all sides. Within this frame, I have an email design. I’ve set the container frame to allow scrolling for the email, which works fine, but the bottom padding is being ignored. Am I missing something?

In Material Design 2 (M2), there are a lot of elements made out of a color from the palette (hex code, no opacity) and an transparency depending of the expected result. For example, a primary text can be a solid #000000 and a secondary text the same #000000 with a transparency set to 64%, resulting in a grey text blended with the background color. My design system uses the same approach today. Therefore design tokens works like this: Color Palette tokens are based on a hex code Color Usage tokens are based on Color Palette tokens + opacity % While playing with the new Variables feature in Figma, I noticed that it seems not possible to set an opacity to an existing variable. We can set an RGBA value, but no Variable + Opacity as far as I know. Plus, looking at Unlock design system scalability with variables presentation during Config 2023, it seems that variables for Opacity will come in V2, but looks like there’s no plan to apply opacity on a color variable in a “parent” variable…

When I apply a string variable to the text that is not text property (of a component), it jumps to the current selection as expected, so that I can select the intended option right away after mistakenly selecting the wrong one, or simply, select one in the same folder as it is the whole point of putting things in folders. But if it’s a text property in a component, it won’t jump to the selected variable. (img2) Happens with every single text property. Why? Is it a bug, or is it a feature to drive me crazy?

Hello - I almost can’t believe I’m posting this. I have read through all the help files, watched four training videos on Pluralsight plus countless YT videos. I’m absolutely not grasping something very basic!I’m a long time full stack software developer (obviously the problem here), I apparently think very differently than you design folk! ;)All I am trying to do is create a simple wireframe. I completely understand how to create from scratch all the way to a prototype, no issue there.I’m “trying” to use a free wireframe “file” from the community. I “liked”, “bookmarked” brought into Figma etc. but no matter what I do, I can’t get it, or any of it’s assets/components to show up in my project file under assets so I can use them in my fresh design file. I have been screwing with this for three days and I’m am completely ready to jump out my window! I have never ran into a technical problem I couldn’t figure out! This one has me.What extremely obvious and basic concept am I totally missin

Hi All, Sorry if you guys have been around this one before but, does anyone know a Figma course that would suit a user who uses Figma but who lacks in-depth knowledge? As a Head of Design I jump in and out and express ideas using Figma, but it’s my team who are immersed in it everyday and I’d like to focus myself and improve my skills so that I can be far more hands on - for when we get work peaks. I’m hoping for a course from a recognised academy, not a scattering of YouTube content. I’d like a course that brushes up on the basics and then takes me through more in-depth use. Any ideas most welcome, thank you.

I have a component with 3 variants set for my carousel. I cannot get the slides to drag seamlessly. I have 1st slide connected to 2nd slide, 2nd slide connected to 1st slide, 2nd slide connected to 3rd slide and 3rd slide connected back to 2nd slide. I have had different outcomes each time I redo the same procedures. Sometimes I can drag through all slides, then back to 2nd slide but I can never drag 2nd slide back to 1st slide. I feel like there’s some priority that I have set up somewhere that I don’t know about. Please help.

Does Figma have any training partners they recommend?

Hi Guys, i was create the “back” interaction. I set up as “tap” + “back” on an arrow. However, when i present, it doesnt go back to the previous screen. It seems like there is no interaction exist at the arrow. May i know if the above set up is correct? Do i need to do extra links or set up in order for the arrow to work as “back” ? Thank you!

Few of my draft files disappeared suddenly and when I tried to re-open recently closed tabs; its showing “not found (404)” The files where created by me and were accessible only to me. some of these files are still Untitled. I’m very new to advanced prototyping and struggling with variables. I would like the Save button in a drawer to navigate to a different page based on a checkbox being checked or not. The checkbox is enabled based on a required field.This is the flow I’m looking to accomplish:If the Name field has been entered, a checkbox labeled Add another is enabled and the user clicks the checkbox, clicks Save, then the drawer updates with a new entry to be filled out. If the Name field has been entered, the checkbox is enabled and the user does not click the checkbox, clicks Save, then the drawer closes. ​​​​​​​If the Name field has been not been entered and the checkbox is disabled, then the user cannot click Save.Any help would be great. As part of our organisation roadmap, we need our organisation data to be backed up in our inhouse server at a regular interval. We are working to take the backup of Figma files along with respective projects. We have explored the Figma API documentation (https://www.figma.com/developers/api#get-files-endpoint), where we need to manually add the file key in the api (GET/v1/files/:key), which is not ideal solution and even after adding the key, we are getting response in json format, not the file. Could you please suggest a way how we can take incremental backup of Figma files along with respective projects? Is there any option available to Export/Download all of our Figma files?

Hello. I'm wondering how I can easily change the design system (colors and fonts) on a component that I copy from another figma project.For example: I have a figma document where I have all the components saved. Then I transfer this same component to another project. How can I now easily change the original design system of the component with the design system of the project to which I copied the component.I use local variables and not styles.What do I need to do to be able to use the design system of the current project on the component. The structure of the design systems is the same.

I have old components showing up in an updated and published library. These components have already been removed from the library. There are no instances of the component in the library. See the attached photo. The icons with the white background are old/removed. If I click on the icon with the white background and ‘go to main component’ it just brings me to the library but there’s no component in the library…

Hello community, I’ve just creted my first Figma design and I get an unexpected behavior on a component. I’ve created a card component to showcase company services. The card layout is the following: The “Scopri di più” button is an istance of another component and it’s set to revert its colors when hovered. Problem is: when hovering on the “Scopri di più” button, all istances of the button within the same component and its istances are reverting to the hover state. This is not happening for the instances of the same button OUTSIDE the card components. All interactions seems to be correctly set, so I can’t really understand how to solve. I’m pretty sure this topic was discussed a million times before, but every answer I came across so far kind if “dodged” the real issue… or at least not giving me what I need :) So, first of all, I’m new to Figma.To clarify my level of understanding:I understand what a master component is. I also understand what a component instance is. I know how to set and use component properties. I also know how to use place holders that you can set to “instance swap”, so you can replace these bits when you use an instance of a master component. I also understand nested components. With the above out of the way, let me explain my issue. Let’s talk about a simple thing, Form. I would think the very purpose of building a “design system” (or a component library) is to be able to control design “from above”. I’ve searched for information on this and it doesn’t seem to be very clear. We are an enterprise organization with several teams, but occasionally we work with third party contractors from other large orgs. Those contractors often have their own, paid, figma accounts and we invite them to work in our org. The problem I am having trouble understanding is why Figma seemingly wants that account to be paid on both orgs - I am not able to invite the paid account from another organization and have it suffice for editing in our org - it treats them like they need to pay on our org as well. Is this intended?
