I’m also seeing issues with variable font weights and it’s not allowing me to change the custom weights.

If font weight variables aren’t working in Figma, try these quick fixes:

  1. Check Font Compatibility: Ensure the font supports the weight you’re trying to use.
  2. Use Correct Font Weight: Double-check that the weight you’re adjusting is available.
  3. Refresh Figma: Reload the app to clear any font caching issues.
  4. Update Figma: Make sure you’re using the latest version of Figma.
  5. Reinstall Custom Fonts: If using custom fonts, reinstall them or switch to system fonts.

Recently I face it this issue. This workaround works well for me case:

  1. Select the instance with the problem
  2. Go to the option Reset Instance
  3. Undo the action

This is a little bit manual, but solve the problem.
