Widget Re-Render

Hey everyone,

I am developing a Widget that seemingly stops updating when I close the Figma file, or occasionally when I close the Figma Desktop app.

If I right-click it and go to Widgets->Re-Render Widget it simply resumes working.

Is this normal? Or is there any way to avoid this behavior?

This is expected behavior. It is not possible to have a widget that will run in the background indefinitely. Please take a look at this document:
