In Figma’s best practices on using versioning for handoffs, the designer duplicates the file and calls it the handoff file for developers. However, if the original file has links in it to other sections of the file, say the prototypes, this link are not self-referential when copied. In other words, the copy has prototype links that link back to the original instead of within the copy itself.
