I followed a tutorial to make a radio button, and I was doing pretty well, and then all of a sudden I was literally unable to select the “Change To” option under the prototype dropdown for my variable. Does anyone know how to troubleshoot this?

Try searching or share screenshots of your setup as there are many mistakes that one can make that lead to this.
