Question

Public links = default?

Hello,
To my surprise I have discovered that many of my files are available for “anyone with the link”. I don’t know how this could have happened as I understand this needs to be a deliberate action.

I noticed this because a prototype was set for anyone with the link to view. I understand that inherits from the main working file which was also set for anyone with the link to view. How that was set is beyond me. Again, I thought that is a deliberate action and I would not have done that on a single file let alone many files.

  1. Am I wrong? Are new files “public” by default?
  2. Is there a way to tell at a glance which of my files are set to “anyone with the link”?
  3. Is there a way to affect these settings in bulk?

To be clear, I have no need for public links and don’t like what I’m feeling like is a lack of good control over this feature. (When I share I want it to be for “invited only” or similar).

Thanks for any insight into the sharing of Figma files.
