The text in a frame can be independent of other frames, or it can flow between connected frames. To flow text between connected frames, you must first connect the frames. Connected frames can be on the same frame, or on another frame in the document.

threads is not so familiar term but maybe text overflow? Otherwise pretty useful feature if you do something more related to specifications or documents with Figma
It’s possible, I’m just a bit nostalgic for the tried and true. This particular feature was already a part of InDesign’s repertoire long before Figma came onto the scene.
This feature was already requested long ago.
Would be great if Figma could expand their text formatting and property options. As a team we build around 80% of our visual design in Figma, but InDesign still can’t be touched when it comes to layouts and text formatting for Guides or Reports.
