Hi there, I have the Setting to rename duplicated layers toggled ON as you can see:

But when I duplicate my layers, if the naming follows the pattern “name-01” they are not adding to the number as they used to do before. I see that it works when using space instead of hyphenation, though.

Just checking to see if this is expected, because it feels like a bug to me.

bellow you can see how the naming worked for different layer names after duplicating the layers.

Hi there, Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. I completely understand how inconvenient it can be when a feature no longer works as it did before.

After testing on my own, I’ve noticed the same behavior that you described. However, I’m unsure if this is intentional or a bug, therefore I will look into this internally and once we have more information, we’ll provide an update.

In the meantime, as a workaround, please try renaming layers in bulk to see if it works for you.

Hope this helps a bit! If anyone from our community has additional insights, please feel free to share.

Thanks again for reaching out!

Hello there, After internally consulting with our engineer, they confirmed that we only support renaming when the name ends with a space and some number, and they don’t believe we have ever supported incrementing in the pattern name-01. Therefore, this behavior is intentional.

However, this could be a great feature request!

To give it more visibility, I’ve moved this post to the “Share an idea” category. This way, those interested in seeing this idea implemented can vote to show their support.

Please vote for your idea. Thanks again for your valuable input.

Thanks for your replies and for consulting internally. I must’ve made that up, sorry about the confusion. I noticed that using gspace] around the hyphen enables the counting, so thats a possible work-around for those used to typing space.

Eitherway I voted up since I think it’s a simple and nice improvement.
