Is this on the product roadmap to rollout at some point?

bombadillo

Has this been fixed yet? STILL dealing with it.

This solution does not work if you want to use the prototype functions.

Yannis_PandaPanda

Hey all, recently this started bugging me as well. Since I couldn’t find a setting for this I remembered an old trick to hide text using invisible characters. Select the layers from which you want to hide the labels and replace their name with a space. Sadly this isn’t helpful if you still want your layers to make sense, but otherwhise it works great.

Obviously a simple toggle in the Preferences would be even better though!

bombadillo

Yeah I’m sick of people saying that the solution is to add more frames. Wtf? No, I don’t want to add more useless frames. It should not be a default to show the label for something on the artboard. We need to take screenshots and share our screen sometimes and it distracts and confuses people. Just give us a f*cking setting to hide it!

Imaad_Zaffar

Just replying here in the hope that Figma will actually do something about it after so long!

+1 for this

+1 I think hide frame names would be super

Shravya_S_Rao

It’s funny how the UX designing platform itself has UX issues. +1 for having option to hide/show frame names. It’s super duper annoying and it’s triggering the OCD in me.

+1 would be great to make pure screenshots of the whole prototype (with tons of frames) without any frame labels clustering into the view…

Kristian_Arambasic

+1 as well

Produto_Facile

Totally agree! They are so annoying 🫠

Just put it right here as “Frame Labels” and everyone’s happy - it’s incredibly annoying to constantly have to group frames before a presentation, and this should be so easy to do - how do we get this voted up more?

I’m ready to post on linkedin and advertise, to garner more votes…

I agree this is a problem - it makes for crowded and messy files and can be especially distracting when presenting to stakeholders.

I sometimes rename labels with blank spaces to get labels out of the way, but this approach isn’t ideal, and has some down sides

Fromyr_Jon_Reuters

Dear Figma. Please add my vote to the count. We need this implemented soon.

Need this even more now that Sections are a thing. Any frame inside a section shows the label. Basically, I’ve replaced big frames with sections. Super useful, but makes this an annoyance

Dave_Weaver

Agree, please allow me to hide frame labels. The labels are bigger than the text in the frame in my main view. I am willing to hold a modifier key to make them appear when I might need them

I’ve just started using Figma a few days ago and have been test driving it to see if I want to pay for it, and I discovered Sections & Frames, but I’m considering finding a different design tool because this frame labels thing is so annoying. Please fix this 😦

Big agree! This really throws off my workflow. When frames are used as an artboard –the largest thing – showing names make a lot of sense. When they’re used as sections or components the names are just noise. A toggle for this will be huge.

With how intuitive everything is in Figma, I really have a hard time believing that this isn’t an option.

I need the option to hide frame labels
I hope Figma respects this demand 🙏

Freddie_Boston

+1 on this, they add no value most of the time and are only creating a visual mess in my projects, please let me remove this.

I agree. Hope this can be added as an option.

I agree. Would be nice to be able to toggle all or individually. I think on/off on all would be nicer as it can be confusing if done individually.

+1. The ability to hide the labels under “View” with a simple toggle would be very much appreciated!
