Hi Figma forum community,

My name is Julia and I’m presenting you an idea on behalf of BeLight Software. Our Team developed Amadine https://amadine.com

with users of all experiences with vector graphics in mind: from total beginners to the seasoned professionals. Lately we’ve had a lot of feedback from our users who wish to make the most out of their Clipboard on a Mac and iPad. But when copying the objects in Amadine the result pasted in Figma is in raster format. The developers have three types of files they store within Clipboard: PDF file, AMDC file and raster image. For some reason, only the raster image gets pasted. We’ve tested the behaviour and for example with Adobe Illustrator the same process gives a vector result.

We would love to deliver the best compatibility to our users and would love to know if something can be changed on either our or your side, so that the pasted result is a vector one. Could you please look into it and offer a solution for this issue?

Hi @Julia_Shtelmukhova1, Thank you for sharing your thoughts and providing us with details. I’ll look into how we can share your feedback with the appropriate team internally.

As stated in our help center, the current process for pasting in Figma requires copying the asset as an SVG to your clipboard first.

You can check the details here: Copy assets between design tools - Paste assets into Figma from other tools

Additionally, you can check the list of supported file types and import instructions here: Add images and videos to design files

Furthermore, you can also see how other design tools are integrated with Figma by visiting here: Integrations and applications - Design and development
