I’m working on a Figma site and noticed an issue where the font appears differently in preview or published mode. For example, I’m using SF Pro Bold in my design, but it renders as SF Pro Regular when previewed or published.

Is this a known issue with Figma Sites? Are there any recommended or “safe” fonts to use that retain their styling accurately in preview mode? Would love any insight or workaround if this is a bug. Thanks!

Hi @Lahiru,

I understand you're seeing an issue where your SF Pro Bold font is rendering as SF Pro Regular in Figma Sites preview/published.

I checked internally, and it turns out that custom fonts aren't currently supported in Figma Sites. This means any custom fonts in your design will automatically be replaced with system fonts when published – it's a current limitation with Figma Sites.

You can find more details on supported fonts in Figma Sites in this guide: Supported tools between Figma Design and Figma Sites

Hope this clarifies things!

I am facing the same issue with Noto Sans

I use Inter, arguably the most common font, and on live site the italic doesn’t show.

Look at the ‘powerful’:

I’m not seeing that IBM Plex mono doesn’t render in preview either. This is a Google Font and should be supported.

I am using Inter and am having the same issue where the weights are not showing up, and possibly the font altogether… its hard to tell as they appear similar.

...custom fonts aren't currently supported in Figma Sites…

I am using a google font but its not fixing it, error still shows up no matter how many times I try to use the missing font tool to replace them.
