Multiple Flows Should Have Different Device Frames

I’ve started using Figma after being a long-time Sketch holdout. I’m stunned that this feature doesn’t exist. Really disappointed that I can’t define a viewport size based upon the flow context. Please fix this asap!

Cmoon Figma it cant take you 3 years to add this! Such a pain 🤐

Making sure this thread doesn’t die until this is resolved.

Here with the same request!

My use case: within one file, I have both mobile and dekstop flows. I’d like to be able to have a distinct link to each flow, which opens them up with the correct UI (eg Macbook or iPhone) wrapped around the designs.

So need this feature!

+1 Really-really need this, since some pages in my app need to be demonstrated in landscape while other only exist in portrait.
May be when the prototype device is set to a phone or a tablet we could assign ‘orientation’ to frames, so that the device could rotate depending on the frame…?

PLEASE, Please, allow us to have both Mobile and Desktop designs in the same page, and set prototype devices per frame, not per page!

+1 still would love to have this feature! Our company likes to have mobile and desktop mockups on the same page for our developers to easily compare them side-by-side.

Currently, our workaround solution is having three pages: one with the internal-facing side-by-side page, one with a mobile client-facing pres, and one with a desktop client-facing pres. We have to make the internal-facing frames into components so any changes are reflected on all three pages, which feels like a hack for a common issue.

It would also be great to be able to change to prototype settings per flow (eg. fit width for desktop, actual size for mobile).

Selecting a specific prototype Device (Desktop, Tablet, Mobile) for a particular flow on the page (Desktop, Tablet, etc.) is necessary.

Making sure the thread doesn’t die until they add this feature

Guneet_Ghotra

Something has changed where I can only select one device when prototyping and it uses that device for all prototypes. This means I have to go in a change devices every time I’m going between files. This is driving me nuts because I simultaneously design in mobile and desktop and I have to keep goin back and forth when trying to look at my designs live. Please, please, please fix this. It’s inefficient.

I’m sending another nudge because it still amazes me that this functionality is not possible.

Voting this up - 3 years later and this “table stakes” feature doesn’t exist, but thank goodness we have Figma Slides. /s

would be great to not have to separate everything to pages

Upvoting this! Would be really useful and save time.

This seems such a low hanging fruit its crazy its been 3 years…

david.curtis

Ideally, for each prototype flow, the previous slide’s device settings are inherited, but can be changed.

This way, you could easily demonstrate a flow that showcased each breakpoint in different devices.

E..g

  • Title Slide: No device
  • [Click View mobile flow]
  • Mobile Slide 1: Sets Mobile device
  • Mobile Slide 2
  • Mobile Slide 3
  • Title Slide
  • [Click Desktop flow]
  • Desktop Slide 1: Sets Desktop device
  • Desktop Slide 2
  • Desktop Slide 3

Etc.

Alternatives could be Android vs iOS flows, different design idea flows etc.
