Hi team,Variable modes are incredibly helpful for testing layout behaviors in the Editor. Typically, we duplicate frames and assign modes like Desktop, Tablet, or Mobile. While this works, it doesn’t extend well into Presentation mode.Currently: Presentation → Responsive works nicely with Auto Layout + min/max constraints. However, variable modes remain static—locked to whatever mode was manually applied to a frame. The existing “Auto” mode is limited to inheritance (children follow parent), but the parent itself still requires a manual mode switch. Feature Request:Introduce a real “Responsive Auto Mode” that automatically applies the correct variable mode based on the element’s width. I know this might not be a fully realistic approach, since Figma can’t always know which numeric variable should be responsible for triggering a breakpoint. An alternative would be to add a “Responsive” toggle in the Variables panel, where the designer explicitly marks which variable (e.g. width, bre
I think that figma is being a complete all rounder tool as the days are going. As a UI designer I'd love to see some more changes in figma if it's possible.1. I know there's already a brush tool system. But i think that it'd be nice if we can see a complete brush tool with all the elements like masking and other stuff. using brush tool to create cool effects.2. More text styling options like illustrator. UI design nowadays knows no boundaries. to achieve that we need to do different types of styling of texts. there's a lot but there is some options missing, If those were in figma, it would have been cool.4. I know everything should not be free. But I think we should have a test of figma sites as starter plan user. If it's possible then consider it kindly.3. Lastly, I'd love to see a figma softwares AI image tracer which will trace images with all the color. trust me it is both helpful for graphics designers and UI designers. Thanks Figma team for the amazing surprises you bring up on ev

This is similar/related to an old post from 4 years ago: I still am not seeing Descriptions shown in Dev Mode. I would expect to see it as a comment at least, or in the Properties view somewhere. This is so that a specific meaning/purpose we provide is visible for the engineers as well.Editing style: Dev Mode panel ☹️:
Need recommendations for a reliable PET CT scan in Delhi. I’ve heard PET-CT combines two imaging techniques for more accurate results. Molecular Imaging & Therapy looks promising but I’d like to hear from someone who has actually been there. Info here: https://www.molecularit.com/services/PET_CT
It would be helpful if Figma notification previews in Slack showed the Figma page name in addition to the Figma file name. We often have multiple conversations happening across different pages within files, so knowing the specific page would provide better context. Just a thought for future updates!
Currently, when I share a link to a particular frame in Slack, the preview shows the whole canvas with many frames. I would prefer to see the shared frame in the preview instead.
When creating a new file in Figma, it would be helpful to display a “Write File Name” modal. This modal could include: A file name input field An option to move the file to a specific project/folder A “Skip for now” option This feature would streamline file organization, reduce clutter, and be especially helpful for beginners who might forget to name or organize their files right away.
I’d like to request a feature that would help for many workflows: export comments from a FigJam board. For retros, audits, or sharing outside of FigJam, it would save a lot of time if we could export comments as a CSV, JSON, or even a simple text list.Features: Export comments (with timestamps, author, and thread structure) to CSV or JSON. Filter by time range or by author before export. Include reference to the canvas location (e.g., coordinates or object ID) for each comment. Thanks 🤘
Please add the Figma own Feature of Speech to Text
Hi Figma team,I’ve encountered an issue when trying to apply a linear gradient to a single word inside a text layer. When I highlight just one word and apply a gradient (via the fill panel), the gradient technically applies, but no gradient handles appear on the canvas. This makes it impossible to adjust the direction, angle, or position of the gradient for that specific word.Steps to reproduce: Create a text layer with multiple words. Highlight just one word. Apply a linear gradient via the Fill settings. Try to adjust the gradient. Expected behavior:Gradient handles (start and end points) should appear, just like they do when applying a gradient to an entire shape or full text layer. I should be able to control the direction of the gradient within the selected word.Actual behavior:No gradient nodes/handles appear when the gradient is applied to only a portion of the text. The gradient applies, but I have no way to control it visually. Please let me know if this is a known limitat
Question, if the cell contains the public URL to the image instead of a pasted image into the cell, does that not work?
I think Figma should have a feature that lets you update an entire list of typography used in a design system. It’s so tiring editing this one by one
I’m always copy/pasting autolayout frames and when I do this far from the right-most autolayout frame, it jumps me all across the canvas and I have to drag my frame back to where I was working. On twitter you guys mentioned paste here only works with the mouse so we know where ‘here’ is to paste. If there was a shortcut at least to just paste it in the middle of the canvas that would be nice.
Like in the design tool, I will be interesting to have components in Figma Slides. That way, designers can create templates for the company and non designer have only one place to change the footer on all slides. If we can have the option to add pagination to the footer or anywhere it will be a big plus.
Often when prototyping tools/UIs with canvases, a few fundamental interactions are needed. Scroll up/down Scroll left/right Zoom in/out Unfortunately, that last zoom in/out one isn’t possible in Figma as far as I can tell. It would be really great to incorporate this type of interaction in the same place that frame scrolling can be specified. Prototyping use cases: UIs with Maps (tracking apps, location apps, travel apps, delivery apps, etc) UIs with creative canvases (illustrator, photoshop, Figma, sketch, etc) UIs for analysis tools (spatial biology analysis, general sample analysis, etc) UIs for brainstorming tools (Figjam, Miro, google whiteboard, etc) This feels like it would be relatively basic to add but what do I know about programing lol. Anyways, would be really awesome and add a new dimension of interactivity to canvas based tools.
Hey everyone! We've been using Figma’s Slack integration to keep our team in sync, and I’d like to suggest an improvement: having notifications sent to a public Slack channel when a frame or design is marked as Ready for dev — not just as personal alerts.Right now, the Slack integration only notifies us about comments and mentions. But when it comes to dev handoff, it’d be super useful to have those status updates posted in team channels to keep everyone (Product and Dev team) aligned in real time, adding visibility and transparency.
Hey everyone,I’m exploring ways to streamline customer service for my small business and have been researching different options. I’ve read that customer support automation tools can really help reduce response times, improve efficiency, and free up my team to focus on more complex issues. However, with so many platforms out there, it’s a bit overwhelming to know which ones are reliable and worth the investment. What customer support automation tools have you used, and what features do you find most valuable? Any recommendations or pitfalls I should be aware of before committing?
how can i expand this ??????????? too narrow! or please expand this. I feel frustrated every time I use that part. I think it should be at least twice as wide.+I wish there was a font favorites feature.
Currently you are able to add up to nine screenshots for your published community file. I would like to upload a video to this area. Apparently you can do this for plugins, so I would like the feature for community files as well.
Hey Community, Using ComponentNode.key and ComponentNode.remote (boolean), I can detect remote components and import them via figma.importComponentByKeyAsync(). However, there’s no API to get the original source file name or library name of a remote component.Would it be possible to expose the component’s source filename or published library name in the Plugin API? This would help plugins display component origin info like the Figma UI does.
In other words a way to branch to/from a Community file Hi everyone, I publish a design system (DS) to the Community and have frequent updates to fix issues and add/update components. Community members duplicate this DS to their Organizational account to use in their own projects. They have reported to me that once they import the Figma file into their org and use it as a library they have no way of getting my latest updates easily and without breaking changes into their production design files that refer to the original “duplicated” file. So it would be great if there was a way to publish “get latest” or “subscribe to changes” in a community file. (Instead of having to restart design file from scratch in the latest version of the Design System). Librairies features are not an option as they are specific to an ORG and cannot be accessed through the community. And Swapping in this use case does not work well at all. This would be great for everyone as it would allow Figma to always ship
Description:Currently, when prompt requests are ready in Figma, users only see a visual indication. It would be very useful if Figma could also notify with a sound alert. This small improvement would help users notice requests faster, especially when they are multitasking or not constantly looking at the Figma window.👉 Suggested feature: Add an optional sound notification setting in preferences. Allow users to toggle it on/off depending on their workflow.
Quality of life suggestion:Could we get a check box list in the Annotation flyout to select then apply?Applying Annotations is a ton of clicking if I want to apply all the Attributes for say Fonts or anything like that. I usually skip the width and height but apply everything else, which you have to click Property, then click the actual property then repeat 8 Times.
Hi there!I embeded Figma prototypes into a SharePoint Teams website. I successfully hid the Figma UI, but I’m noticing some white padding around the prototype. Is there a way to adjust or remove this padding by tweaking the iframe code, or is there another method I could try?The extra white space is affecting the website layout, especially on smaller screens. I appreciate your help with this!Thank you! A
