Sometimes I work on a design and I get comment from my team. Then I may answer a comment or partially resolve it but don’t wanna resolve it fully yet. But then I click on it again and again because I don’t know which comment I have read so far. Maybe you could add a state for partially resolved or opened comments. Like turn them green or something.,
the ability to expose color variables (and other variable types) as component properties, similar to how text variables can be exposed today.Right now, designers have to manually switch modes from the Variables panel, which is less intuitive than using component properties. Being able to expose color variables directly would make components easier to use, reduce variant overload, and better support variable-driven systems.
Hi Figma team,It would be great if we could see which team members are currently active in the workspace level — for example, a small list or sidebar showing online collaborators with their profile avatars as you already have inside the files with Spotlight.By clicking on a teammate’s avatar, we could jump directly to the file they’re currently working on. This would make collaboration smoother, help teams quickly locate each other, and reduce time spent searching through shared projects. This will help us to collaborate better specially during design reviews. Thanks for considering this improvement!— Margarida
About the behavior when drag-and-dropping multiple images from a file browser onto a FigJam board. I often use FigJam for raw data analysis in my work. Specifically, I line up a wide variety of visualizations, add markers, and inspect them visually to analyze the data; FigJam’s features are a perfect match for this workflow, and there’s virtually no alternative solution. When I paste a lot of images onto a FigJam board at once, they’re arranged in a default kinda “automatically tiled” layout. It can even consider size of each image and arrange them into the most ”compact” form automatically, how smart it is.current default behavior For my use case, it would be very helpful to have modes that place them “in a single horizontal row” or “in a single vertical column,” which would greatly reduce the time I spend manually rearranging them afterward. Because I often paste quite a few images at once, working only in the current “tile mode” means that I need to repeatedly scrolling up and down
The Problem: Collaborating with stakeholders often requires many content updates & iterations (text, image, etc). I think most content writers/stakeholders could easily make these updates but would require editor access, giving them unneeded (& often unwanted) edit permissions. Suggested Solution: Provide a Content Editor role in Figma that allows a user to: Update text layers Update image fills Anything else? Additional features could include: Editor can lock/unlock editability of content per layer Ability to suggest/accept changes (similar to google docs?) Assign content to users for editing? Any other ideas on how this role could work?
It would be great if you could see a colour variables hex code when assigning a variable to an elements fill / stroke.
I’m really big on shortcuts and makes my workflow much quicker. Please add a shortcut for copying an SVG to clipboard. No plugins or anyhting, just a shortcut. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 I’m on Windows, but even something like “ ctrl + alt + shift + G (tilde)” would suffice.
Was told by a Figma rep that there are only 200+ requests for Figma to export as webP - and they didn’t sound positive that it would be integrated. So, I want to rally the community to push for this feature. There are already paid plugins out there that do this, so there must be a need. Show your support and let’s push the incredible team at Figma to incorporate it!
Here is a small UX issue that I’ve discovered while working through branches with my team.I think the following changes would make a huge difference to “quality of life” and “ease of use”:Change the Page Title (at least the listed title within social share embeds) to prepend the file name in front of the branch name (ie: “Figma File / Branch One”) Index branch names within the Figma “Search for Files” text search (cmd+t) feature so that branches can be located using the Figma file search feature.
By default, the HEX colors show as all uppercase like #FFFFFF but it would be nice if in the settings we could choose to show them as lowercase like #ffffff. An ability to choose this would be great!
Describe the problem your experiencing and how your idea helps solve this When we select a particular template or frame on Figma on the right side it will show all the colours did we used on that frame or template that’s a really good feature, Including that can you people also try to show us what all fonts that we used in that template or frame I felt that could be really great move by Figma if you people show the list of fonts that we used in that frame this going to be a great initiative by FIGMA. I’m really apologetic If that feature already existed in Figma I didn’t know where it was? I explored but I couldn’t find that feature. Add as much context as possible (screenshots, Figma files, mockups, etc.) Ask questions to bring the community into the conversation (e.g. Does anyone else experience this? Is anyone using a plugin or workaround to help solve this? etc. Does anyone else experience this? Is anyone using a plugin or workaround to help solve this?
Hug & fill shortcuts are really nice, but i dont want to have to keep reaching over to the right hand side panel every time i want to quickly change my autolayout from vertical to horizontal. I think a lot of people feel this too! If it already exists please let me know i will give you chocolate cake frs
Hi all, I’ll try to keep it short and simple — I couldn’t find anything that directly addressed this issue, but in my opinion the way masks work in Figma is not optimal. Full disclosure, I come from a very comfortable with Adobe Illustrator angle (which essentially established the standard way to apply masks as far as I’m aware, and with good reason). The problem with needing the mask object under the object that is being masked, is that the mask object will invariably be smaller than the target object, and therefore this makes it extremely fussy to both select the correct items for masking and editing the mask layer itself. Once a mask is applied, to edit the vector points of the mask, the only way I can see is to find the mask layer in the layers panel and hit enter or the “edit object” button in the toolbar. This is a serious workflow killer when considering you could just double click into the mask object had it been on the layer above. That’s it! Please consider changing the mask
When using the CMD K, I would love to be able to type a figma file name and quickly open it
Hi Folks,I’d like to propose a feature that would improve navigation within large design files.Often, while working on a complex Figma file, I need to quickly return to a previous view or jump forward again without manually scrolling through the canvas. It would be helpful to have a dedicated option similar to a browser’s back/forward button, that allows seamless switching between recently viewed areas of the file. This would save time and enhance workflow efficiency, especially when handling files with extensive UI screens. What are your thoughts?
I'd like to suggest a feature that would significantly improve collaboration in Figma.Currently, when I return to a Figma file after some time, it can be challenging to quickly identify what changes the team has made since my last session. Scrolling through the entire file to find recent updates is time-consuming.It would be incredibly helpful to have a feature that visually highlights all new modifications made by team members since I was last active in the file. This would allow us to catch up on progress instantly and streamline our collaborative workflow. What are your thoughts on this?
Problem As a designer exporting assets for web development it’s frustrating having to either export with no control over the file size and reduce later in photoshop, or pay for an image compressing plugin that is helpful, but exports as zip files so the file management gets messy quick. Solution Have more expansive export settings e.g. slider for image quality and file size calculated in real time with slider - similar to photoshop. Might just be me but I sorely need this functionality, especially during the rapid part of a project which is the design to developer hand over. Does anyone else have this problem? 🙂
The lack of flexibility drives me insane;1. I cant change the size of a nested component (you have to make sure its the same size for every option but thats not actually how things work) (min maxes make this extremely painful)2. If I make a list component its a pain to change the content in the lists in a component (no matter how many plugins you use, and also you cant use the AI feature for this and it would be cool if you did) - basically what ends up happening here is you create a ton of booleans (making a component a mess; especially if its a nested instance) instead of giving the user more flexibility)3. The lack of collapsing nested instances shown in the sidebar; sometimes you need them and sometimes you don’t so you just have a HUGE list of nested instances (especially in a table)The design system current functionality provides the user absolutely 0 flexibility who is creating user flows its asking to be detached; which leads to old outdated components and infuriating user ex
As a company, we don’t just use Figma for wireframes but also for presentations and FigJam Boards. It would be really helpful if we could mark files as “archived” that could then be displayed in grey, maybe also with a date, for when in our company history the file used to be relevant or current. It’s hard to keep track of “is this file still currently relevant or not?” Obviously we don’t want to delete old file since we still might want to go back to e.g. Team Workshops that we did 1 year ago, but also it would be nice to have them “out of the way” when searching for files that are currently relevant.
Dear Figma Team, I am working on a prototype for a complex financial product. As I add new features, bells and whistles etc. the prototype rapidly expands beyond MVP scope, into v1/v2/v3 + product iterations. So far, 80 individual version changes. As far as I can see, there is no neat way to create a branch off of a ‘master’ prototype that would allow me to break down an end to end prototype into MVP and future iterations of the product/ feature set. This would be very handy to showcase to stakeholders (business, product, tech) how the product would evolve and validate with users what are the most essential needs (MVP) versus nice-to-haves.If I duplicate the whole file and strip out what I have build back down to an MVP by rolling back to the earlier versions, those files are not part of a single prototype evolution. And if I roll back to e.g. version 10 out of 80 within the prototype, then I would change the file itself and have to keep going back and forth (and to precisely the right ver
Hi Figma Team,As multiple designers are collaborating in the same project and working within the same Figma file, we want to minimize errors and maintain consistency. Is there a way in Figma to easily identify who has worked on a specific part of the file (such as widgets, components, layers, or folders)? This would really help us track changes and maintain accountability across the design system.Thank you,Prashant
I always wonder why there are no diagonal rulers? it will be useful to have diagonal rulers
HeyI want to do the same result in the image but without outlining the text to path because i want the change the text on different instances. but i can’t do such thing due to the text size being fixed when scaling the container
Hi, Please add the support for files like: PDFs - when you can add specific pages from the PDF file, link or a file to download on the board Txt files - like txt, css, html, etc so you can add content from text or link file to download Slides - powerpoints, google slides, etc Video, so you can add links to YT, or small video files for reference GIF - animated gifs other files if possible (check Miro, Microsoft Board what they offer) Thanks, guys please add in comments what would you add to help your workflow in FigJam?
