is it possible add private mode so no one else can access file while you’re working on it but everybody can access it in public mode? Basically same file with private and public mode available.
If I make changes to the scoping of a variable, the only way to track down the changes is to click into each variable and check the scoping settings. It would be nice if an icon could be placed next to the variable label, perhaps aligned to the right for the following states: Full scope - no icon Partial scope - half-closed eye Fully hidden - closed eye This would obviously only apply to colors and numbers.
Hello 🙂 I think it might be useful if there is some kind of feedback to why the ‘Invite’ option is disabled. For example today it was disabled because the email address I have added was missing a dot (.), therefore invalid. I spent a lot of time searching for resolutions and reading unanswered questions in the community so maybe a single hover state why it’s disabled might be useful. Or leave it enabled and provide error messaging. I hate displaying errors but it might be clearer than expecting someone to see a missing dot at 10:30 pm 😃 Hope that makes sense. Cheers!
It would be nice to have an option to have the stroke offset or inset the shape it’s being applied to. As in, when I have a rectangle with a fill applied and want to add a stroke to it, sometimes I want the stroke to be inset or offset of the shape and not on the perimeter. As it stands now I have to copy the shape and group them together, one with a fill and the other as just a stroke and it’s a bit cumbersome. There should be a setting within that dropdown that has the inside, center, or outside settings where you can select inset or offset. Then you can input the amount you want, would make it much easier and quicker.
I think it would be great to see keyboard shortcuts for the ‘Auto height, Auto Width’ text box sizing features. I use these all the time and it would be really beneficial to have a quicker way to change these 🙏
A request that might seem a bit unusual at first, but it’s something that I believe could greatly benefit many designers, including myself. I have a significant number of design files saved in the Adobe Fireworks format (.fw.png). While I understand that Fireworks is an old and somewhat outdated tool, these files contain valuable work that I’d like to import into Figma for further collaboration and development. Unfortunately, Figma currently doesn’t support the direct import of .fw.png files, and converting them manually can be quite time-consuming and may result in loss of fidelity. Hence, I’m wondering if Figma can consider adding compatibility for this format.
That is totally useless for me, I use as solo designer, Why do I need multiple cursors
是不是可以让某个组件单独设置成可编辑模式? 比如设计一个响应式的组件,查看的人需要能够尝试一下拉伸效果
I wasn’t able to understand why my critical component didn’t publish. When I decided to look into the problem I discovered Figma: Doesnt allow you to Publish things with unused instances anymore I have a futureproof instances I can use when needed. Why cant they just hang around? Has a very bad UI/UX for telling user about it. First of all why show this, if it can’t be published: Second of all why Invalid instances look like a header here (and why collapsed by default???) Why can’t it at least expand if I try to publish bad component?
Sometimes you need more space within an artboard, but you have elements above/under/to the sides and you want to create more space by enlarging the canvas while pushing the rest of the elements to one side. Normally you would have to enlarge the artboard, select everything, move it and then continue editing, but that is a hassle.
Sometimes your FigJam gets cluttered with shapes, stickies or images, and you want to create some space. Normally you would have to select everything and move it to one side. It would be great to have push feature that would push all the elements to one side and open space.
I use the home page left sidebar to organize files and access them quickly (and it’s very helpful for that). However, I think it would be even better with a few feature additions: I treat my sidebar lists as personal folders that improve my efficiency, whereas my team as a whole has its own system of organization for files in projects to ensure that all stakeholders can navigate easily to the right files. I would love to be able to click into a sidebar list and view its contents in full page mode in the same way that you can click into projects and view their contents. Pinning could function in the same way it does in projects, but pinned items could also be displayed as pins at the top of a list in the sidebar. This would allow me to treat a sidebar list as a project without impacting the organization system that others on my team see and use. It would also be very helpful to have the ability to sort (in both the sidebar view and the full view detailed above) sidebar contents by rece
Please add some kind of this preview to navigate faster between file pages
Put back the show hide ui with the shortcut ² on windows it was very practical, the @ is not possible with windows keyboard. Thanks
Hey Figma Community! I wanted to share a challenge we’re currently facing in our design system: line-height flexibility. Our typography setups have served us well, but they’re starting to feel a bit rigid in certain design contexts. After some brainstorming and debates, I’ve been contemplating a solution: introducing line-height variables. This idea draws inspiration from frameworks like tailwindcss, which offer classes like tight, snug, normal, relaxed, etc., allowing developers to adjust line-height dynamically based on the class applied. Implementing line-height variables could offer the flexibility we need without cluttering our typography styles library. It’s a way to provide designers with more control without overwhelming them with excessive options. However, I’m also open to exploring alternative approaches. So, I’d love to hear your thoughts and suggestions on how we could tackle this challenge together. Looking forward to your insights.
Higher memory usage limit would be useful when working with huge design files and with huge design system libraries imported. We are currently having issues with this specific situation.
Would love to have the ability to apply outlines and outline offsets that will not mess up my alignement. Similar to how it’s done on CSS. For example if I have a button that I want to design a focused state for I currently have no simple way to do it (I have to nest it in several layers and again the padding will remain) Moving from “stroke” to “borders” and “outlines” is a lot better in my opinion
Hi there, Is there a possibility for the monthly or quarterly invoices to have an exchanged rate pricing on the invoice as this will reflect a more realistic figure for the accountant at the time of conversion. I’ve attached an example of my Adobe Creative Invoice with a local currency exchange rate as well. The currency I need to be converted for example is South Africa’s “ZAR” Feedback on this matter will be highly appreciated. Kind regards
With the new dev-mode, a new permission has been introduced. But unlike the other permissions, this one is not manageable by the team/file owner. This is very annoying as in our company of 50+ designers and hundreds of viewers, admins can not keep the overview of each single individual user. My expectation would be to have an entry “dev-mode” in the team member permissions table:
I real like the new feature that user can select different style of cursor. But is it possible that user can design their own cursor? For a case, our team has a mascot, and we much like it can be our designer’s cursor.
I need to manage around 100 people accessing the file and I can’s see how I can search/filter users to REMOVE access to the file. Going one by one to remove access to 5-10 people take very long time. Please help
There should be a toggle-activated “wireframe view”, allowing us to select a frame, toggle it and see it as a wireframe. That would mean Figma would intelligently analise the content of the frame, changing the aspect of its objects. For example: Imagine a simple hero section from a landing page, with the logo on the top-left corner, some options on a navigation bar, an image in the background, some centralized body of text with a title and some short-to-medium text. Right below, there’s a button with a text on it. Toggling “wireframe view” using a shortcut, would allow the user to see every element I mentioned before in a simpler way. Texts could be replaced by boxes, text on buttons could disappear, leaving only the fill, images would display a placeholder image, so on and so on. This could be made using the objects as a reference and taking their properties and changing them in the back-end, switching the fill and transparency from texts to blank filled rectangles, and so on. I think
I’ve noticed that when I copy and paste a combination of ungrouped objects, they are pasted in the order that I clicked each object before pressing Ctrl+C, rather than in the order that they were. This is super frustrating - and doesn’t make any sense to me. Not sure if this is super clear so just an example: If a star was on top of a circle, but I clicked the circle and then the star (in that order) before typing Ctrl+C, when I paste, it would put the circle on top of the star, even if the objects were not in that order originally…
I often receive links to Figma files in Slack that I want to star (not pin) so I can close the tab but still reference it later. It would be helpful in the contextual menu when right-clicking a tab to have an option to “Show in Enclosing Project.”
