Please improve the variable table to allow manual resizing of the columns, as well as automatically adjusting their width to the content size. It’s hard to read long variable names when they are truncated with “…”. And the hover tooltip doesn’t help.
When verifying comments left by peers, it can become very challenging to find them, and management them. Could we work on a dashboard or CMS looking interface that sorts all comments by people, time, tag so they can be managed and tracked better.
Often time we use branch to do usability testing instead of the main file, and many comments were made on the branch file. So when we want to merge the changes from branch file into the main one, the comments will be deleted and cannot be found anywhere. Please enhance the feature of also merging all comments on the branch into the main file. Thanks!
One thing I am struggling with at the moment is when use a component that already has “click” action, and wrap that component inside a frame and add another click action, I want both of these to be executed, but only one of them gets executed. Example setup: Accordion header that switches between ON/OFF when clicked. Accordion Item that collapses and opens when clicked. I tried many combinations of actions, put the action to the same element, parent elements etc. nothing works.
My company uses Google Docs for documentation. I’d love to be able to put artifacts into FigJam boards but whenever I paste in a link, I don’t get a proper preview, just a clickable URL. I’m assuming this is because FigJam can’t authenticate with Google Drive. Is this coming? It’s a big barrier to using FigJam at a broader level here.
Hi! I don’t believe I generally have trouble telling colours apart and I find yellow and orange stickies look very similar. Is this the right place to ask: might the “yellow” sticky colour be closer to Post-It yellow (i.e., fairly pale) instead of a colour that, to me, looks the same as an orange in my fruit bowl 🙂
It’d be great for us designers to attach a “documentation” file articulating all our decisions (and also being able to clarify whether there’s been a modification and why that decision was made) in order for devs to see that explanation on Dev mode and understand not only what has visually changed but also why, what’s the logic behind it, and why it improves/enhances the experience. Also, it’d be good to provide devs with a text box/voting tool to add their input into that modification if needed
off the back of my raised issue Dynamically loading files - bad for commuters! It would be great if we could have the option to download the whole file for offline use. Since dynamically loading files has launched, about 2 hours of my day is now very unproductive as I can’t use the files on my train commute. Wifi is intermittent and slow. I used to open all my files at home so I had access to them then I could use them on the train. Now I get loading spinners every time I change page in them. I personally don’t think DLF’s are a good update and feature. Bad for my example above, and when you are on strong Wifi it’s not solving a problem. Worst update Figma has made IMO
Please fix this, the community tab should be displayed by default, and hidden through a view menu option, not an arbitrary profile menu button.
Install the necessary Lao fonts into the OS: using the Change Font plugin: https://www.figma.com/community/plugin/1036021586377337050/change-font to change or customize your fonts in design
On the dimensions of an object you can constrain the height and width so that if one changes the other proportionately does so. When these objects are in an auto layout, however, this constraint isn’t respected and the width and height won’t maintain the same aspect ratio. If the object is set to fill horizontally or fill vertically, it won’t scale properly. I’d like the constraint set on the layers panel to be respected when objects resize in an auto-layout.
As a product designer I want to move thin and small objects in Figma easily So that I can easily reposition dividers and the like On macOS, I’m zoomed out and trying to move the selected rectangle, but there is no where I can click to begin moving the rectangle without causing a resize. I propose that we enable moving the item by dragging the dimensions “tag” (see [1 × 900] in screenshot).
Once upon a time, I was trying out the Gist plugin. As with many plugins, it can attach itself to layers in your document, as demonstrated here: Unfortunately, after years of copying and pasting in the design system library I’m working on, these empty references to a plugin I no longer use are scattered around random layers. How can I find these instances of this (or any) plugin, and remove them in bulk? Imagine being able to click that little “minus” button next to View documentation a few hundred times, without having to hunt each one down manually. 'm assuming a plugin (or snippet of code I turn into one) will be involved…
Hi! I’d like to be able to customise the color of the pixel grid, e.g. to increase the contrast when doing intricate line work. Cheers!
When copy and pasting styles such as rounded corners or drop shadow to an image, sometimes I just want to be able to copy a new image and keep the same style properties, but I can’t copy just the properties and not the image. I would love if the image fill weren’t a property that gets copied when you do command+shift+C. Thanks!
User Story: We want a feature in Figma that allows us to group comments by specific feedback sessions, So that we can manage, review, and address feedback more effectively and maintain a clear and organized workflow in our design projects. Feature Description: Group Creation: Users can create multiple ‘Feedback Groups’ within a Figma file. These groups are customizable and can be named according to the feedback session, topic, or any other relevant categorization. Assigning Comments to Groups: When adding a comment, users have the option to assign it to an existing Feedback Group via a dropdown menu in the comment interface. They can also move comments to different groups as needed. Viewing Grouped Comments: A new panel in the Figma interface allows users to view comments by group. Selecting a group will display all the comments associated with it, providing a focused view of feedback related to a specific session or topic. Group Management: Users can edit the name of the Feedb
Hi… So I tend to use my Icons in a component set. Now let’s say I have some 100 items in the component set. Wherever I use an instance of that component, I have to find the option manually, there should be an option to search in this long list. To add to the pain the names are not alphabetically arranged, is there a way to simplify this process? This is my component set And this is how I see it when I add an instance I’d like to have a search option when I’m choosing this instance.
Title: Section Note Feature What: I wish for a way to write notes or documents about a section without losing sticky notes. So What?: It helps me know the key ideas about each section without cluttering the title. I can reference details easily without making the title too long or unattractive. Now What?: Implement an icon or indicator to show that a description exists for the section. This allows for clear differentiation and easy access to additional notes.
90% of the time when I use the Find feature it’s to do a find and replace. To save an extra click, a keyboard shortcut for it would be great (on top of the existing one for Find).
Hi Figma Team and Community, TLDR: Similar to Dev Mode, have a Context Mode that we can load objects and elements into. I’m sure many of you have been dealing with chaos related to having a lot of elements on your Pages that are “Context” for other designers, PMs, or developers. For every element (frame, group, etc) that is an actual design there are probably 2 or 3 that are to give context on that design (i.e. what page are we on, what is the route, what data is being passed in, where does the Data come from, what forms submit to where, what user actions are possible, what is the goal, where does the user go next on the user journey. Not to mention arrows going everywhere, etc.) Designers have just been adding all kinds of objects/elements around their designs to give this Context. But it makes navigating a Page super messy and noisy. A slight hack to this I’ve found is to just load all of the Context elements into a frame called “Developer Context” and then hide it while designing.
I tried making an audio conversation on Figma today and it was terrific, but my problem was, when I wanted others to join, I couldn’t. I looked for a way to nudge the user or invite them but couldn’t. I suggest adding a ring icon (whatever you find suitable) next to the desired user to nudge when I want them to join the audio conversation without resorting to other software.
Would be better if you do a prototype action for the main component and it goes to the variants, for example you set up the prototype actions for the main component or a sub-master component ad the main navigation and the prototype actions go to all matching variant layers so you can mass change your prototype navigation
It will be very difficult to create this type of shape in Figma, and more problematic is that we can’t apply the auto layout to this type of shape. So for any of the small changes, we need to change it manually, which is a very time- and effort-consuming process. I suggest allowing for the option to change the space to round or sharp edges in shape radius options
The new home sidebar update works well except now it takes two clicks to switch teams and the loading time switching teams has also increased. As a freelance designer this is something I do frequently, so this has added increased friction into my workflow. I would love if there was a way to have teams one-click away. The best implementation of this I can think of is in slack where switching between different workspaces is one simple click of the large icons on the left-hand side of the screen
In the Swap instance dropdown, If I click a folder one level and go in, it remembers which folder I clicked and maintains scroll position if I come back. But it is not working same if I go two level down and come back two level. It scrolls back to the top.
