When using auto layout the new UI update has moved the current width and height of a selected object to behind a hover state. Width and height only accessible via the hover state of the auto layout types (fixed, hug, fill). I often use the actual W and H of elements as a sense check for ensuring the design works within our design system. Please bring back the independent readings.
I decided to try out the beta to give some feedback on a design. I want to point an arrow from a sticky note to the back button in this screenshot (using screenshots bc we are auditing a deployed project): But it looks like the end of the arrow is locked to the edge of the image. I come from Miro. In Miro, you are able to point an arrow to the inside of an image / element. It will still snap to the edge, but when you drag further, it will un-snap.
Hello. Recently, I’ve been using my laptop with a small monitor and have noticed some issues affecting my workflow. I’ve recorded a video to demonstrate the problem - https://files.fm/f/z2n7ugrkmz . It concerns the color panel when selecting gradient colors. Each time I click on a color, I need to drag the color panel to the right, away from the layout. However, when I click on the second color, the panel jumps back to its original position, and I have to move it again. Wouldn’t it be more convenient if the panel remembered the position where the user initially placed it? This would be very helpful. Constantly moving the panel is quite annoying, especially when working within a single gradient. Please consider updating the panel to make it more convenient for those of us working on laptops. Thank you!
When I select two objects and click Ctrl+G to create a group, it creates two separate groups out of two objects. The same issue is with auto layout.
At minimum there needs to be a way to dynamically add in the slide number, but it would be great if there was a set of dynamic inputs: Current slide # Total slide #'s Date Author Collaborators Progress bar File name …there’s probably more I’m not thinking of.
I am using an overlay while hovering to show a tooltip on a clickable object, but when the overlay is opened I can no longer click on the button. Is there any way to allow objects to be clicked while there is an active overlay.
I wish the new UI had more flexibility to it. The containers are floating now but I can’t actually do anything with them. I would like to be able to have the option to either dock the containers or be able to grab onto them and move them around my screen wherever I see fit. I think this would be a cool opportunity that is provided by the UI3 changes. As it stands currently the toolbar being forced at the bottom is definitely my least favorite part of UI3.
We use Obsidian for our internal documentation and frequently share with one another links that start with obsidian://. Unfortunately, Figma sees this link type as invalid and, therefore, we must then paste it in as one big ugly blob. It would be nice for Figma to recognise that there are other protocols being registered on a computer and could allow these types of links in our design docs.
When I click on “Move option” at the menú of filename, appear a dialog that suggested to search project folder. In my case don´t show o list of projects folder. At the older version this function showed me a list of project without need to search them.
I wish Figma had a way to snapshot certain prototype interactions and create a link to that snapshot for review and approval, or add relevant documentation. This would make it so I don’t have to build redundant static mocks. Prototyping is far more powerful with variables, but means you can only see some interactions when viewing a prototype. This can make it difficult when submitting certain designs for other departments to review. We are currently finding the need to make the prototype for devs, then also mock up another static version to send for review, as reviewing prototypes are harder for our compliance process that needs static versions for documentation purposes.
Sometimes, I need to give more details about tagging an userflow for GA4, for example. But when I have text between two “_” (underlines), Annotation read that as an Italic one. Is there a way to disable it?

I was very surprised to see the code syntax for variables require editing every single variable one by one… like many folks, we are mapping to our design tokens and use programmatically transformed naming. Using regular expressions (or any other kind of replace and format) for syntax would solve for: namespacing before the transform (which definitely should be able to be aliased to a string variable — could even be at the collection level) moving a variable’s grouping doesn’t change its syntax automatically, I see no way to deal with this currently except to delete and rename in the syntax every single time (while hoping you don’t miss any) specifying the separator potential to rearrange the group order, exclude levels of grouping from the syntax name, etc. ability to make other format changes that may be wanted in the future. At the very least I was expecting some form of control over what the separator is, but it’s just “/“ (which doesn’t even match the behavior of the transformati
As a Product Designer, scripting flows is where I spend majority go the time. I can’t show a huge flowchart to the C-suites, and I can’t show the rough outline flow to the designers. It would be super awesome if we could have expandable cards with each card having a flow within it. Anything from links leading to subsection to an expanded view or a side pane.
Figma community is great, but I want a better way to showcase my portfolio without leaving Figma. This includes ways to customize a portfolio within Figma and easily be able to share it with others. Think Behance but in Figma
It would be VERY helpful to be able to post an alert/notification banner at the top of the All Workspaces page. For example, once we turn the Slides feature on, we’d like to be able to notify all users that “Figma Slides is now available in Beta through 2024…” Additionally, workspace admins being able to post notifications within their workspace would also be great.
I feel like we’re missing a huge opportunity here with dev mode. You can either mark something as ready for dev or to be re-checked, but why can’t we add a section status for “Needs review”? So stakeholders can immediately know exactly what they need to look at before it ever reaches a dev’s hands?
It would be helpful for instance-level admins to be able to determine the content that goes out automatically in an email when a user requests an upgrade. Whether the request is denied or approved, we have to then compose a separate email either providing instance guidelines if it was approved, or details on the requirements if it was denied.

I feel very uncomfortable when I adjust colors frequently. I need to open the color window and select the color every time. If I want to adjust other styles such as gradient, there are many redundant steps. I hope the color window can have an alternative setting to keep it open. Thank you.
Allowing text style overrides is really cool but it would be even better if this feature could work with intermediate font weights: medium, semibold etc. which are set with ⌥⌘< or ⌥⌘>.
I frequently have to add stickies for team members that don’t have FigJam editing access, so it would be great to be able to change the author name so I know who said what. In addition to that, there’s a weird bug where sometimes my name shows as the author for other people’s sticky notes.
When building presentations I often use symbols with different states as looping animations (with each state progressing after delay). The problem is that symbols don’t get reset to the first state if I move back and forth through the presentation, they keep looping in the background, which means timings, etc. things don’t match what I wanted anymore.
It’d be awesome if I can bold a pencil line or connector with ⌘B, the same way I bold a text.
Please don’t make every click a history state. This can make it very tedious/error prone to undo a simple change because there happened to be 7 clicks in between. Also, please name the last action in the Undo item in the Edit menu so I have confidence I’m undoing the right thing or that I even did the action I thought I did. Finally, please addd an undo history panel separate from the version history panel to make it easier to jump back with precision.
