It is recommended to add a label function to the design draft list, use labels to manage our design drafts, combine the collection and search functions, and add the label function to make it more convenient for users to manage design drafts.
most of the times when i want to click on go to component, I just want to have a look and then come back (to locate it, for instance). but then I need to find where I was before in the file. I want to have the option to just have a glimpse on it with the option to return, OR edit it.
Hey, guys, we can push overrides to main component from an instance, all right. But why can’t we push the changes you made in the compontent into all instances. I mean, let’s say you changed something in the main component, but if that aspect is already somehow defined in the instance, the instance wouldn’t change! It’s kind of insane, do you know what I mean? I mean the component’s main purpose is for us to be able to just work with component, and the instances must change accordingly on the fly, by themselves. But in this system it does not work this way. We need a ‘Reset overrides on all instances’ option, to be able to push reset all instances from a single click, from the main component right-clicking. Thank you!
Autolayouts have 3 aligment options (left/top, center and right/bottom), but I would find it useful if I could reposition an element as I wish. The case is this: I can’t reposition the cancel icon as I wish, which makes it misaligned. The only way I can go about it giving that icon an autolayout of itself, which seems useless and makes my structure bloated. Could this be an added feature?
In Figma, user and role management should be more valued. Assigning and managing a user role plays plays a crucial part in ensuring effective collaboration and seamless workflow within design projects. By properly managing users and roles, teams can maintain organization, efficiency, and clarity. User and role management in Figma is important for the following reasons: Access Control: Assigning specific roles to team members helps control access to project files and restricts editing permissions. Collaboration: Clear user management allows for streamlined collaboration among team members. Project Organization: By assigning roles and permissions, teams can establish structure within projects. Variations for Enhanced Functionality: Features like adding tags to identify individuals or grouping users together simplify user management further. Assigning tags for competency or specific roles allows for quick identification and easy communication with the right team members. Efficie
Hello, how do you remove the default icon libraries from newly created slides? They pollute the component popover, and will confuse new/casual Figma users in the company into using the wrong icons
As our product grows and the design system and its tokens grow, we are finding ourselves in a position where the choice of variable is often not clear-cut. The management of a vast array of similar variables slows down our workflow and often ends up with the wrong variable being used and referenced in code. Part of this might be due to the tokens getting out of hand but it would be really great if there was a way of identifying the usage of variables to see which ones don’t get used that often and which ones are never used. This way we could merge variables, delete them, etc. Going a step further, being able to scope to components or files where certain variables are used would be helpful too. I know there is a design system analytics feature in the organization tier that we will soon be upgrading to when dev mode comes out of beta but I don’t know if this already exists in some form there.
Managing local styles would be a lot less tedious if option-clicking the disclosure triangles would open or close all of the nested folders contained in a folder. This is how disclosure triangles in layers list works. They should work the same way. Without that feature, I’m constantly having to manually close each one because Figma decides sometimes that they should all be open. Maybe there’s a way to make it work now. If there is, I couldn’t find it.
Whenever I send to page it seems to go into the middle of nowhere on the page, super annoying to scroll around and try to find it. Please create a way for me send directly to a “Section” on page! Quick win and easy fix. User flow Right click > Send to page > Select page > Selection section on page from list
PROBLEM: There is no way to create an accordion or collapsible menu without endless duplicate pages FIX: If you could show/hide objects, groups, components, you could easily create a collapsible section, which if used within an auto layout with fill container would resize nicely. There are so many uses for this kind of behaviour. Whole components (like a left nav) could be setup with default behaviour that would just work where they were placed, without the need for complex prototyping.
It would be so sick to be able to select multiple photos and give them the same edits
at the moment there are only Current name / Number up / Number down variables when batch renaming frames. Can we get a frame size variable so it auto includes the frame size
Hey everyone, I love using FigJam for creating flow charts, but I’ve noticed a limitation that affects my design flexibility. When I change a box color, the text color changes automatically. It would be fantastic to have the option to select text color independently of box color. Why This Matters: Improved Readability: Ensures text remains legible. Design Flexibility: Greater control over the visual design. Enhanced Accessibility: Maintains high contrast for all users. If you agree, please support this feature request by voting. Let’s enhance FigJam together! Thank you!
Hey everyone, I have an exciting idea to enhance our Figma experience: allowing users to choose their personal colour of preference. This personalized touch can reflect each designer’s unique style and mood. The Concept Imagine being able to customize your profile with a personal colour that shows up as your cursor colour and in your chat bubbles within Figma. It would be a fun and expressive way to make our interactions more vibrant and personalized. The Proposal • Custom Profile Colour: Select a personal colour for your profile. • Cursor Colour: Your chosen colour will appear as your cursor in Figma, making it easy for others to identify you. • Chat Bubble Colour: Your chat bubbles will match your chosen colour, adding a personal touch to your communications. • Extra Features: Potentially extend this personalization to forum interactions, like your profile name or highlights. Benefits • Personal Expression: Showcase your personality and mood through colour. • Enhanced Collaboration:
It is always trying to snap to another element, so hard to edit a line, to move it… Why can it not be freestanding and simple to use?
It’s just so annoying. I don’t understand what layer is selected when every text layer in frame is highlighting with borders. The only i can se is BORDERS
I’m working on a template design system that will be used by a companies social media team. I’m specifying pretty much every last bit of each template so it would allow them to just do the editorial side of things like exchanging text contents, colors and images. I really dig the ability to being able to leak certain properties and simplifying instances, so they will end up with quite a focused view of what is changable and what is not. This is important as it won’t encourage them of breaking the system casually. All I am wishing for in a while now is being able to set a color and image property. I think as it is now, this is handled inconsistently and unintuitively. It would be exactly like “selection colors” is handled in UI2, but set as a property value. Same goes to images, would be amazing to being able to allow them to interchange images quicker, not having to comb through the instances layers.
The new Slides looks nice, and is seemingly pretty easy to use and all. However not being able to round corners individually on a shape seems a bit over simplified. This i similar to the competitor Pitch, but for me Figma is for real designers. We should have that option.
Currently, the only ways to run plugins in Figma are by searching for their names in the plugins section of the actions panel or using their shortcuts in the right panel. I suggest adding the ability to run Figma plugins via a direct link. This would be a significant time-saver for heavy Figma users. For example, I use a Stream Deck for shortcuts, and being able to launch plugins with a link would streamline the process, reducing the effort needed to set up hotkeys or macros for newly used plugins. Thank you.
Hi there, I don’t know this is good idea or not. In my case there is a lot of intern here doing some mistake to change the component directly on the instance. Because its not standard, in some case I need to reset the changes their made and because I try to use UI3. There is little bit confusing & hardest for me at the same time to do reset the component, because Figma put the button of reset component inside dropdown In my opinion, its better to put out this reset button outside the drodpown so maybe it will be helpful for people that facing a problem like me. What do you think ?
Need a way to identify design file Vs FigJam Vs PPT on the top tabs used to show open files. Currently they are just plain tabs and not recognizable on which one is a FigJam or a design file
Problem: When the file is shared among the team, while I am working on the file there are other people with the view access reviewing the file. And those multiple hovering cursors are quite distracting. Possible Solution: There should be a toggle button on the top, when you turn it on you will not see other cursors[of teammates] other than yours. When it is off, it will come back to the normal view.
Please, all I want is the ability to see the entire name of my variable, and to do this I would love the ability to resize the column to whatever size is needed. Seems straight forward, I hope. Cheers!
The current view of comments is hard to use because you have to hover over each one to see them in full with the context of where they are placed. I find myself repeatedly opening each one while brainstorming or viewing feedback. My idea is that when the user hits C on their keyboard (or another shortcut), they can see a slightly expanded view which includes the first comment in a thread and the # of comments in the thread (Screenshot 2).
Maybe I’ve missed it, but is there a way to access published libraries as in the designer? A presentation (for client A) branded with their color styles and components should be easily swappable for another.
