My team has a lot of Colour styles, and sometimes it’s hard to find a particular swatch. Also, Figma sometimes ‘unlink’ the style and the colour. Having the ability to use the search field inside Colour styles to filter HEX codes would be amazing and a time saver.
I use properties and variants a lot in my components. I know I can add them via naming conventions, but when dealing with a lot of existing variants, it can be tedious and confusing. I understand that Figma is trying simplify the UI by hiding the “Add New Property” plus icon. But it’s a key function for me and because it’s only revealed on hover, it took me a super long time to figure it out. (Sidenote, this UI change is not covered in the existing Figma docs). My proposal is that you reveal the plus sign again in the right panel, or minimally, at least in the component’s 3 dot menu. UI3 default state: UI3 hover state: UI3 component menu options
I hope there is a way to recognize the others’ suitable properties. My teammates seem unable to recognize the right one to choose.
Hi Currently, the font used for these two languages is Arial I think which is very bad and unreadable and ugly. My suggestion is to replace it with Vazirmatn, a popular free font with more than 19.0 million users and used by many companies, including Telegram.Google Fonts
We’re looking for a banner with a custom message to appear across all files. Our privacy and security team is asking us to include a reminder (that can be dismissed) as a banner across the top of every file to remind everyone not to include any identifying information or private personal information in our Figma files. It’s my understanding that users don’t have the option to set this up yet, but is it coming in the future??
Would be good to see the selected annotation clearer by either have a stronger focus state or lower opacity on the other unselected ones. I almost didn’t notice that the selected layer had an annotation because the green glow is so subtle.
Why shape size in autolayout parameters but x y is in position block? there is no sense in this. why is the thing responsible for the position, namely autolayout, placed next to the form?, and the position, which is more related to autolayout, is moved to another block?, when I want to change the size of the form, I now constantly look at the position, when the position is associated with autolayout, since autolayout is a setting that automates POSITION. Why don’t you place the position next to the autolayout, and move the layer size up? you also have what is called constraints, and even the buttons for quickly distributing constraints are moved to the position, which is also related to autolayout, instead you create confusion by entering the layer size parameter in autolayout, which sets the position, and the position setting in another block. Why are you doing this? This is complete confusion …
Used to able to pin a comment and see it while working but that went away in UI3, can you bring it back?
I have a dozen animations for instruction functionalities, but every action is a separate GIF. Creating a component with variants don’t work well, as finding the exact time in ms of an animation is hardly doable. Imagine having 3 or more animations that should play one after another, and then play from the start again. Please make this easier, like, creating a list of animations and make looping optional. Thanks!
I am playing with colors for a project. It would be nice to have variables per artboard so I could make color variables that are scoped to an artboard. This would allow users to play with colors and have the colors on the page live update rather than having to set them at the file level which could be harder to manage.
Keeping pace with new Figma feature updates (and all its existing ones) is tough. I’d love to see a little optional, contextual onboarding/popup prompting me to learn about just one new Figma feature each time I open the app. Featured features in the tool could be as simple as a useful keyboard shortcut, or something more substantial. It could maybe have a ‘Useful?’ feedback button to inform future topics. If this already exists and I just missed/dismissed it, would love to hear!
I’m loving the new “ready for dev” and “completed” feature, it allows me to clearly keep myself up to date with how things are advancing. I unfortunately work with all form factors, and that includes TV where I have to collaborate with four different teams, which makes this feature sadly not that useful in the end. It would be very useful to have this status feature set to different teams or at least have a way to see which team has marked this completed - and when everybody has marked it as completed, it really says “completed” or something else - because right now I would have the Samsung team marking this has completed, but the other teams would still be working on it and won’t have the possibility to do the same when done. And I really don’t see myself creating 3 copies of the same design for each team every time.
I’d like to be able to change the settings (device, fit/fill/size, enable shortcuts, hide UI, and possibly set the default transition and scrolling type) for all of the prototypes in a file in one place, rather than on each flow or page in a file. If not a single menu, having an “apply changes to all flows” button or something would help a lot!
Not beeing able to import PDF files into Figma is a real pain. Pleeeaaaase, this has to be fixed!
Label Dear Figma team, please develop a preview image display feature for changing icons with instances like the current image which is not available and it is very inconvenient to change.
Variables are incredibly powerful and enjoyable to work with. It’s astonishing how swiftly flexible designs with multiple themes can be created. However, the variables pop-up is challenging to work with. It appears to have been designed in Figma and implemented by the dev-team “as specified.” Converting a complex theme with tens or hundreds of nested style-colors feels like torture: The pop-up should be resizable. The narrow column width for multiple modes will make links unreadable. The color pop-up should remember which tab was changed from “Custom” to “Library.” It would be excellent if color-styles could be dragged from the Local-Styles list in the inspector into the variables pop-up.
I cant see any label
Right now, you have to import one picture/file at a time. It feels very tedious.
Hello Figma team! Firstly, I want to praise you for the new Figma interface, it looks beautiful! I just wanted to share some ideas I had while using it: The vector editing mode is very hidden, I have to access another menu to find it, in the old interface it was more visible. I think it would be interesting if I could pin some plugins so they can be easily accessed on the plugins page. That’s it, thanks for your attention. 😉 🙃
Hey Figma Team I would like to see a feature where we can surface the “Missing Variant” errors in the design file. I usually publish new changes from the Library but when I go to a Design File and accept the new updates some don’t update the component which is fine but it’s quite tedious to select the individual components to find these errors. I would recommend to have like a dropdown for the Library icon to have the option to “Show Missing Variants” and it will just give me a small window with a list of components that failed to update.
The idea would be to have a sidebar in the home page similar to the one you see in files where you could see the members of your team and when you click on one of their profile picture, it opens the file they are working on, similar to the “follow X” on files but it would open the file they have open and are working on. It could be used for easy and quick access to files when you have lots of them or for teamwork.
Can we have an option to lock the grid layout for parent frame?
Hi there, I understand you all may be possibly working on a fully fledged iPad app. I wanted to suggest a much lighter lift interim that would make it easier for us as designers in the meantime. Please consider adding the necessary hooks to support the Figma site being added as a bookmark to the Home Screen on iOS (effectively making it a web app). This involves adding a few files that specify what is saved to local storage and how the browser treats the experience. This would allow the bookmarked app to run without a URL bar for a more full screen experience.
Hello, I am working on a feature for one of our existing applications. Standard behavior for modals/overlays is to close when a user taps outside. However, for this interaction, I would like to show a warning modal if they tap outside the main modal, rather than simply closing. I’m not seeing a way to easily accomplish this. Could we create the ability to customize “click outside”?
Each time when I need something in community, but have just opened Figma I need to open this tab again and click around 5 times until I find it. Why is it dissapearing after reopening figme? A mystery to me.
