You can say a feature request also to the Figma that we can able to add or create a variant in components by dragging object from outside the component. Let me explain you by an example that I have created a component which have 80 Icons. After few days I want to add more 20 Icons in that component. I can’t drag that 20 Icons add them directly to the component. I have to create an varient by clicking on plus and then have copy that inner vector and paste it into created varient one by one, 10 time damm !! 😵‍💫 So, My request is to fix it and make it able to drag and add variant to the component.
Hello Figma Team, I would like to propose a feature that allows us to rearrange the order of the variants and other properties added to the Properties section in the right-hand panel using a drag-and-drop method. Currently, these properties are listed in the order they were added, and it’s not possible to reorder them afterward. Being able to rearrange the order would greatly improve usability, especially when working with complex components, and make the design process more efficient. I believe this feature would make managing complex components much more user-friendly. I hope you’ll consider it! Thank you and best regards
Include some features (If possible) collapse/close all expanded/open layer/frame/group by Ai Drag and move component
Provide shortcuts in the dock for plugins currently in use. Users can “keep in dock” these plugins as frequently used ones or minimize them to the dock, similar to the macOS dock.
Just one reason I came to this idea, is most of typography styles in my files have line height & letter spacing in percentage: It is more convenient setting percentage for these, instead of individual one like 21 for 14, 24 for 16, etc. But for example, when 150% is not suitable in project anymore, and need to be changed, I have to change it in all styles, one-by-one. I need some places or tools or variables to change them all at once. So your Number variable, except for Text content and Font weight, supports all properties in pixels. What if we also had it in percentage by typing an extra % character and look like this? Then remove the % by clicking on it at uncheck the menu?
I come from a software called Simple mind. In this app there is a type of “shape with text” that grows in the Y axis to fit the text you add, while keeping the X axis fixed. After you finished adding your text you can resize the width of the “shape with text” and it will auto resize the height to fit the content I found it super handy on simple mind and now I found annoying to resize every shape after adding my text. It could be a switch feature in the current “shape with text”… think about it
FigJam’s Connector is like this: But I hope it can be like Lucid chart: This will save our team a lot of work time adjusting the Connector
Hi, I would love to use Figma as the single source of truth for product requirements, task management and the final documentation of how things are implemented, but here is the problem I am facing: I use Figma comments for feedback with the designer I mark a frame or section in Figma for dev and it serves as the master for the developers on what the final app should look like However, the processing and logic of the design can’t be easily made in Figma so I have to use FigJam, but then figjams and I can’t easily link figjams with Figma boards I would love to have a way to break/group my Figma and figjams into tasks, assign each to a developer and track what’s in progress, done or stuck. Imagine a situation - i have a final design. it has a button to save. I would select the button with a pop-up message on Figma, add a small FigJam IFTTT flowchart to it, mark this as “ready for dev”, it would then automatically appear as for example like a card on FigJam kanban where it can be assigne
Every year my team members accept editing accidentally from clients and friends…and i don’t even know, and sometime email came with cost and affected. How to handle this situation? I suggest Figma only accept admin to control editing requests or has option to control. is this dark UX from Figma?
When you forget to use a variable in a Figma component, leaving it created but not assigned to anything, you might encounter an issue when trying to update that component. Figma won’t notify you that your changes won’t apply unless you either delete the unused variable or assign it properly. This can cause you to waste time because it often feels like an update component issue, making the problem less intuitive to identify. Instead of a subtle indication in the ‘Unused Changes’ tab, a more visible alert—like highlighting the component with a red border, shading, or showing a clear warning when pressing the ‘Publish Changes’ button—could make it easier to understand and resolve the issue.
Like most users, I end up with many layers (often in nested groups) and sometimes I just want to back “up” one level to apply some settings, or nudge it with the keyboard, etc. For example: I have a button (component) that is buried some levels down inside a few different nested groups, and I want to nudge it a few pixels to the left. Currently, I have to click/double-click on the element repeatedly until I reach the button (but not too deep or I’ll select the text which cannot be “nudged” with the arrow keys to move the button). A trick I used often in Sketch is to command+click to directly jump to the deepest level, then tap the ESC key to go up one level where I can nudge to my heart’s content. This 1/2 works in Figma. Command+click works - and is useful for text overrides, for example - but tapping the ESC key is a global deselect function. While deselecting everything is sometimes useful, it’s easy to click on the artboard or an area with no objects if that’s what you want to do.
We can save one or more effects as a style and assign them a name. However, this is often inconvenient and usually unnecessary. Naming individual effects would be extremely helpful. This would eliminate the need to identify them through clicking on each effect to view its properties, which can be confusing, since similar effects might have comparable values. Less clicking, less scanning, less headache .
Hello ! Everything is in the title 🙂 I really do think that Figma should work on a functionality that would allow designer to insert icons/images/etc into text content while keeping the responsive aspect of our design. Waiting for that update so bad, but if anyone has a hack to do it, I am aware! I already tried using auto layout but I had to split my text and it is painful when I want to make changes… Most of Adobe softs know how to do it. Ask them to share their knowledge, haha! Please Figma, read me. Hear me. Do it. ^^ Thanks!
As a user in an organization i find myself using the side panel to “bookmark” documents and project quite a lot. while the feature to bookmark pages is awesome, it does get very cluttered an i wondered if there would be a “home page” or “landing page” for each user, how would it look like. i played with the idea a little and here is a mockup as i see the solution for it. The current situation: The current side panel allows only a certain amount of bookmarks to be seen before going into scroll mode. It is very messy and does not help with getting around Figma and making it more personalized. as a platform that i spend 6-8 hours almost everyday, this kind of life-quality improvement seems very much in place. The proposed version: Adding a new “homepage” that will act as a landing page. instead of the current “recents” page which doesn’t always reflects the real need. The features in this homepage will be: Recents feed at the top with ability to view all All bookmarked pages and projec
Currently, selecting text and using the hotkey shortcut in MacOS does not function, as instead of dictating the text that was selected, you only hear it say “see”. Please have FigJam support the MacOS accessibility tools, specifically text to speech. Thanks!
Would love to have more status available (other than ready to dev). Design is a process, and we constantly need to work around what Figma offers to provide a clear, simple way to show work statuses. I would suggest adding Work in Progress, Ready for Review and then Ready to Dev as indications. They are optional, designers can choose to use them or not, but would be very helpful for stakeholder validation etc
There should be a feature to edit multiple text styles together. For example, I want to disable “Ligatures” in 10 different text styles with different attributes but when I select them all there is no setting option. So, I have to disable them one by one. Sometimes there are more than 25 text styles in the same file and going to settings individually is so time-consuming. I request Figma to create a feature to select multiple text styles and their change settings together.
Figma can create excellent interactive prototypes and smart animations, but why doesn’t it support exporting them into GIF or video formats?
“Rotate gradient” in local styles is not work
The chat function in Figma can be frustrating to use for a couple of reasons, the most glaring are: If I start typing in a chat bubble and need to go look at something in the file before I finish posting, there’s not way to exit out without hitting “send”. Suggested improvement allow a “draft” to save typed text, close the bubble, and reopen it When I hit “enter” to make a new paragraph, the message sends instead. Suggested improvement hitting “enter” breaks to a new line, hitting “tab-enter” will send message (or clicking “send” button) Thanks for reading!
I’ve been designing a new product in a single file, which has recently started using an excessive amount of memory. I want to split each page into its own new file and then split each section into its own page within the file. But I’ve used the Dev resource link to keep the sections connected to the backlog items in DevOps. When I copy and paste the sections from the old file into the new file, the Dev resource links are lost. Is there any way to copy sections to a new file and preserve the original Dev resource link? If not, I think there should be.
Quand on double-clique sur un bloc de texte il s’ajuste en bas mais je trouve ça dommage qu’il ne se centre pas automatiquement sur le texte à l’intérieur
Miro has some story map functionality that would be super helpful to have on FigJam Convert sticky notes into story map rectangles Quick add story per column Auto format rows below as you add to a column Horizontal lines to signify releases Miro Story Map Template
Request: I’d love to see a feature that allows us to: Restrict library access for specific collaborators (e.g., freelancers) while still letting them edit files. Allow editing permissions on a file without giving full library access. (Optional) Watermark or block asset copying from libraries or shared files.
To make reusable components with variables, it is better to have Boolean variable inside a component. Kindly add that function in upcoming release
