Hi Figma Team Thx for your great work. I have a request that would make my work easier. Could you make it possible to pin plugins in the tool-bar of UI3. Thx
Can't currently apply variable to font in Figma Sites.
My figma file is getting huge and I want to move artboards to another file but retain all the comment history. Can you please build this?
As design systems grow organically, it might be necessary to reorder Variable Modes in the Local variables panel, similarly to how it is possible to reorder variables.
Grouping pages with in project. Tag pages to page within ‘Project’ to show relation or from other ‘Projects’just a suggestion for tool that I would find it useful.
Developers, if you read this thread, please take this into account in future releases. When viewing files in a project, Figma preloads ALL files in the project. The whole application starts to freeze and makes it difficult to use even the ‘create file’ button (over 1 min of waiting). Why not make this screen with the ability to preview 50 files, splitting all files into preview pages [1,2....50]. Colleagues, if you know how this can be fixed, I will be grateful. Have a nice day!
I want to create folders within folders
Looking for some simple updates which would make using variables much more comfortable. We have a simple library, but with colors copied over multiple uses, states, etc. we have to scroll through this very small window in order to pick from ~50 colors. This is not even counting other sets of colors we use for graphs, charting, other things. Moreover, this is only true outside of the design system - In other files, I can control visibility by collection or based on type (fill vs stroke vs text, etc.). In the system file you just see it all - and especially since the hidden collections are visible, it’s a nightmare to scroll through this list.Basically you *must* be intimately familiar with naming conventions for variables in order to find them at all - otherwise any dive into the variable list is 30 seconds of honing in on the right thing.Currently there’s a dropdown for filtering by library -Can we get a filter by collection? Default collection?Maybe expand/collapse groups? Maybe just
Example: Creating a loading spinner with 4 states. When copying and pasting an interaction from 1 to 2, you do not want the 2nd state to change to itself, rather to the state 3. It is frustrating having to do this every single time, although it could be automated.
How do I hide tabs when designing? My workflow is messed up cz of the tabs showing up. This was fine until a couple of hours ago
Hello Figma team, I’d like to suggest a small improvement regarding version naming. Currently, when I use the “Name this version” option on an autosaved version, the timestamp of the original autosave does not appear. This makes it a bit difficult to identify exactly when that version was created, especially when tracking changes or collaborating with teammates. It would be very helpful if the original autosave time could still be shown alongside the named version. This small detail could improve version tracking and team collaboration significantly. Thank you for your continued great work and support!
Without having to press the prototype black screen every time, thank you!
When a layer is off / hidden or hard to get to (very nested) - to have the ability through the layers panel to grab and edit it in a similar way to how illustrator do it - just the specific element is shown in an isolated display, all other elements are blurred in the background, even layers that are on top of the selected element.
I need a way to change the order in which icons appear in the properties menu of the component instance. I use components for icons, and it would be nice if the icon names were sorted alphabetically, but instead they appear to be sorted by the order in which they were created. When there is a long list of icons, it makes it harder to find the icon you want. This is obviously not necessary for most components because they rarely have this number of variants, but for things like icons… it would be a huge help.
I work on multiple projects at the same time, and every time I use auto layout, the default gap is set to 8 and the padding to 0. I have to change these settings each time, which is quite frustrating and time-consuming. I really need a way to remember to do this. Instead, could we implement a feature in the file settings that allows me to preset these parameters? That way, my presets would automatically apply whenever I create something or use any shape, saving me the hassle of making adjustments each time and allowing me to work more efficiently.
With Miro, we are able to copy cells from a google sheet/excel, then paste them into Miro where each cell becomes an individual sticky note with respective colors applied. This is great for transcription and affinity diagramming during research. I’d LOVE to see this in FigJam 🙂
We have a connected project with an outside vendor who is helping us create new components in one of our shared libraries. We’d like them to be able to create a branch on our existing library to submit a changed/new component without giving them full edit permissions.Full edit permissions would allow them to make changes to the file without branching or to merge changes without our approval. And we only want changes to be added with our approval.Having this sort of “viewer can create a branch” setting would eliminate the need for us to collaborate in a separate file before moving the component into our library.Sharing in case it might also be a helpful feature for others.
See a simple exemple below :
I've been using and testing Figma Make to create interactive prototypes based on the screens and flows I’ve already designed. It would be really interesting to speed up the design-to-code workflow if the prototype in Figma Make could be updated live. That way, I could iterate on changes and improvements in my design without having to go back to Make and write new prompts to explain those changes. This could further streamline the handoff process for animations and interactions by providing more structured code for developers.
I was really excited when i learnt about the inclusion of grid in figma, but was disappointed to find that it is quite under featured. One of the main things holding it back is the ability to set min and max widths/heights on rows and columns, and possibly freeze a row/column too. The current solution of having separate components causes to many alignment issues to be useful. For this you would probably need some way of selecting individual rows and columns too.I don’t know what you have down as priorities for upcoming developments, but these would definitely help Grid be useful
I would like to add a max-width to a text box while using auto layout to keep the word count per line at a reasonable minimum. Currently, I have the text element set to “Fill Container” which makes the text respond very nicely to the screen size. But because it is set to “Fill Container”, the text spans the entire width of the element which makes the text lines more difficult for users to read quickly. If a max-width was set, the component should respond until it reaches the max-width, which would help keep the line length down. I also feel like there are many other circumstances where max and min-width would be extremely helpful Anyone else having this issue? Or does anyone have a great fix/hack to get around it? Looking forward to seeing what you have to say. Cheers,
Just saw the new sketching and fill tools appear. You’re on track to own vector production. Now go after raster/print (seriously)! Amazingly, Quark Xpress is still alive and seems to have developed some serious content-management tools. Buy them! Bring print production into a collaborative Figma space.
A la Adobe Illustrator, please. I want to glide in and out of zooms, not jump.
