HUG or FILL mapped to a variable?

Hi @Shukri_Brewer, Thank you for sharing your thoughts on applying variables. I tested it on my end, and it doesn’t seem possible at the moment, but I understand how helpful it would be!

If anyone from our community would also be happy to see this idea come to life, please vote or comment.

As you may have noticed, Junko’s reply was written for our previous version of the forum, prior to the recent forum makeover last month. 

This current version no longer allows for the ability to cast votes. As mentioned here, “The voting feature in the Suggest a Feature (old “Share an Idea”) category is temporarily paused while we work on some improvements. Exciting updates are planned for 2025—stay tuned!”, but please rest-assured that our team is still tracking and handing over feedback to the necessary teams for future implementation. 

It’s been 7 months since ​@Shukri_Brewer asked for this, and I’m surprised there aren’t more Likes for this. I could use this for a large portion of the design system I’m building. 

A vote for this. please raise with the features team!

Variables in general should be able to accept values one can set in the panels. They are lacking fundamental functions.

• accept relative values at least in %
• accept equations using other variables without returning a fixed number
• accept auto layout properties
