Having an exclude from export option

I guess it’s a tiny thing but it will be super helpful to have an option with each element to remove it from final exports. Like sometimes I have some elements which I don’t want to be in the final export when I am batch exporting multiple frames. For me, I faced this issue when I wanted the gridlines/safe-areas not to be visible in the final export. (I’m talking about the manual grid lines, not the layout grid row/column option from Figma)

Maybe there is a way of doing that that I haven’t come across yet and as a learner, I would greatly appreciate it if anyone could enlighten me.

I guess the title should be clearer. Having an “Exclude from Export” option!

Hey @hannan_hafeez, thanks for the feedback!

While there isn’t an exclude from export option, you can select individual objects on the canvas to export.

It’s only if you don’t have anything selected on the canvas that Figma will try to export all frames.

@hannan_hafeez any luck with this? I have to export 50 frames with text and bg separately to two files and doing it manually is killing me

@sofia.saito the only option right now is to encapsulate those individual layers (text and bg separately) into frames even if they are already in a bigger frame like a page. And then select them individually from sidebar and hit export. It will export the selected frames individually inside a zip..
