I would love to be able to create one prototype across the pages in a file that resembles an actual website. This would be ideal for bigger projects and would be easier to maintain as well. We can connect the component libraries across all the pages anyways. A way to connect the prototype would be great in my opinion and that will give Figma a big leg up on other platforms.

What do you guys think?

@Figma can you please bump this up in priority. Hold off your other updates until this basic feature is implemented please.

Wow cant believed this feature has been requested for over 2 years and it still not implemented. Also coming from Sketch & Craft and I was 100% assuming this was a basic feature that Figma would support. Definitely a MUST have for any project, cannot go on designing all screens on 1 page so we can prototype, this is a designers and developers nightmare…

oh well… let’s hope the Figma developers get this feature in asap

Replying to bump this issue up. Ongoing user pain point that has yet to be addressed for more than 2 years now.

I’m astounded that this feature doesn’t exist yet, and that we have no ETA for it that I can find. This really is a basic operation.

I want to design a site that will have probably 100+ screens and putting them on a single page is a usability nightmare.

The workarounds people have posted really don’t give the experience that we need.

It’s very disappointing that Figma haven’t developed this feature yet. I’m considering to use another tool seriously. Such an important feature for a UI designer’s workflow 👎

@Figma_support Why is this not a reality yet.

I really need this. Otherwise the whole pages thing is basically pointless.

@Figma_support it’s really basic feature and I would consider using other tools as it’s a show-stopper to me.

Having the same issue here, wanting to have dropdowns in a navbar using an open overlay prototype, however, I have the navbar (obviously) inside a main design page for my project so that I can import it on all my pages of the site, instead of needing to add the navbar to every single page. This works fine, but as soon as the navbar includes dropdowns using an open overlay prototype it doesn’t work anymore on other pages than the design page.

+1 this feature is needed ASAP! I am considering starting an entire project using Sketch instead of Figma where I am able to link across pages in my prototype to allow a user-friendly navigation for my stakeholders and clients.

+1, please!

+1 🙏 add this feature

Wow, when 3 years of folks requesting this feature and still nothing?

Please add me to the list of growing users that arerequesting this feature.

Frankly, I’m confused as to why this does not already exist. Seems like a nobrainer out of box feature, especially for paying customers.

Adding my support for this feature! It’s been a critical need in nearly all of my client’s workspaces over the last 3-4 years.

My design is getting bigger and bigger, without this feature, everything is going to be messed up 😦

Adding my vote for this feature!

C’MON FIGMA!!??? This should have happened years ago!

Adding my vote! This is critical for the large and complex work we do!

Hey Figma. Please look for your users. This is a basic feature and you should implement.

Yes please implement this… and a repeater for Var

Yo Ligma, now that you’ve received a juicy $1B reverse termination fee from Adobe due to your deal falling apart, how bout you give a little chunk to one of your devs to get this feature added?

Figma:

+1 This is a really important and necessary feature. It would be nice if someone from the Figma team could at least give an answer as to whether they are even considering implementing this functionality. After all, it has been almost three years and there is a lot of customer interest in this.

Our team needs to showcase the interaction between various devices, and the prototype has been developed using separate pages to delineate functionality across devices. It would greatly enhance our work if the preview function allowed us to link elements with frames across different pages.

Yup, this would be extremely helpful.
