Not really a ‘problem’, but rather a major translation error. The menu item ‘view’ is translated into German as ‘Ansehen’, which means ‘reputation’. The correct translation should be ‘Ansicht’. Even Deepl translates the word “view” incorrectly. ;) Take a look at the meaning of ‘Ansehen’ on duden.de (https://www.duden.de/rechtschreibung/Ansehen).Cheers, Ingo
Hi Figma/Community,I am a UX veteran from India.I recently explored some of the products like Design and Draw. This is about Figma Draw > Repeat that generates Radial and Linear array of selected shape.Would like to share a thought - how about adding Scale and Rotation profiles as two settings to Repeat? This profiles would respectively decide relative scaling and rotation of array items.Thanks.
Please consider adding the ability to assign custom tab colors to individual files or projects. This small visual aid would make it significantly easier to distinguish between open tabs at a glance, especially when juggling multiple design files simultaneously. This feature would offer several key benefits. It would improve workflow organization by allowing users to visually group and separate project files. Navigating between files would become faster and more intuitive, reducing the mental load when switching contexts. Additionally, color coded tabs would help minimize the risk of accidentally editing the wrong file, a common issue when working across multiple projects. Overall, it would enhance focus and efficiency, especially for users who regularly multitask within Figma.Color coded tabs are a familiar and effective UI pattern in many tools, and I believe this addition would be a valuable quality-of-life improvement for many users.
I’m a member of the security team. We’re using the Pro plan, and recently, a user was invited into our organization through the following sequence of events: User A (inside the organization) created a file and set access permissions to “Anyone with the link.” User B (outside the organization) accessed the file. User B (outside the organization) then shared the file or granted permissions to User C (also outside the organization). User C ended up becoming a member of our organization. We contacted Figma, and they confirmed that this behavior is “by design,” and told us that the only way to prevent it is to upgrade to the Enterprise plan.It seems unreasonable that an external user can effectively accept an invitation into our organization, and we believe this is a serious issue. We wanted to share this so everyone is aware when using Figma.Additionally, since the file in step 1 was in Drafts, administrators were unable to see it, which affected our initial investigation. We would l
User persona context:I am not a huge keyboard shortcuts user, I use some, adopt slowly, and like to customise when I need to to make it easier to use the shortcuts I care about and avoid accidentally triggering the ones I don’t.Issue summary:What I am finding annoying about shortcuts in Figma is that is that ones I am not interested in a given moment are they are too easily triggered (because they don’t require an additional key like shift etc.) and I can’t customise them. Issue example: One way in which this is causes issues for me is if I am selecting an option from a dropdown e.g.:When I am selecting a variant property value. If I have a lot of options I usually start to type the letter of the option to jump to it. This works great if the key I am using doesn’t overlap with a Figma determined keyboard shortcut, but if it does, the shortcut is triggered for some action e.g. frame, slice etc. Possible solution approaches:Allow customisation of Figma keyboard shortcuts within Figma →
Only a small one but would save time Add some universally used presets when making component variables so we don’t have to write them every time. Something like Size= Desktop, Small desktop, Tablet, Mobile State = Inactive, Active, Hover, Disabled, Focus
In the prototype preview section, im my opinion, there’s too many phones ultra precise sizes, we won’t use because we build responsive. And there’s missing all the most common standard screen size that we really need :1280x720,1366x786,1440x900,2560x1440 Also, i’d like an option to add the “windows task bar”at the bottom (48px) and the “biggest Browser interface” at the top (120px) so it can preview the real life size of our prototypes.thanks
Describe the problem your experiencing and how your idea helps solve this You can currently only have one screen / device in a prototype when you play / view it. Add as much context as possible (screenshots, Figma files, mockups, etc.) While you can move the start head to different frames within a prototype you can not have more than one start head. When you do view a prototype you only get to interact with one screen / device per prototype. However, there is a use case for multiple screens / devices in a single prototype (eg: mobile - both orientations, tablet - both orientations, laptop / desktop, large screen). Rather than having multiple prototypes within a single project or file it would be very useful to have the ability to select from among multiple variants right in the one prototype. You could have it to where you can select from among various user defined properties (just like variants do) right where you play the prototype. Ask questions to bring the community into the
There — I’ve already named the tool for you.I’ve loved seeing how Figma continues to reinvent not only how we create websites and applications, but also how we interact with the tools that shape them. We’ve watched people shift to Figma for presentations, and now, with Figma Draw, that evolution continues.Of course, we all know we’re already using Figma for motion design — for prototyping and suggestive motion that brings interfaces to life. But it feels like it’s ready to evolve beyond that.Cutting to the chase: I’ve been using Figma for motion graphics — website hero animations, social posts, and more. I honestly can’t stand how archaic Adobe Premiere and After Effects feel. The endless hidden menus, cryptic icons, and overly complex workflows for even the simplest motions are exhausting.I truly believe Figma could create a motion design and editing tool — something lighter than After Effects (at least for now) — that empowers us to export videos, loops, and simple animations directl
One issue that raises its head over and over again is stakeholders having continuous access to a file once it has been shared with no way to restrict what they view.A lot of the time this ends up with stakeholders either watching you work, or leaving comments/feedback on parts of a file that simply aren’t ready yet.We have tried numerous ways of stopping this, but no amount of annotation, labelling or naming something as a WIP will stop someone who REALLY wants to give you that urgent feedback on your half done slider.I don’t think we should have to completely remove access from someone just to have a private area to work in a file.Something such as the ability to share specific pages within a file, or lock a page down so that it isn’t shared / viewable until the permission is granted. Private sections would also be a great addition.
Hi Figma Team 👋I’m currently building an interactive checklist component using variables and prototypes. My goal is to let users click an “Add Checklist” button to dynamically show or create new checklist rows (like tasks, subtasks, or steps).Right now, Figma Variables can control: Text Numbers Colors Component states …but there’s no way to control the visibility of frames or layers, or to dynamically add new Auto Layout items in a prototype. It would be extremely powerful if Figma allowed: Binding visibility of layers or components to variable values (e.g., show when count ≥ 2) Dynamically duplicating components within Auto Layout based on a numeric variable This feature would make prototypes far more realistic for: To-do lists / checklists Dynamic form builders Data-driven dashboards Interactive UIs that simulate adding/removing content Thanks for continuously improving Figma — this would really expand what’s possible with variable-driven interactions! 🙌Best,Anex UX
As an admin, when declining an upgrade request, I’d love to add a personalised message so that I can inform the user why their request is declined.
When creating grid as a style (in design system) and applying to a screen, I cannot hide it. The ‘eye’ for visibility is missing. It really bugs me because I can’t see my design properly and have to remove ad place the grid again. Grid when it is styleGrid when it is not a style
As a designer in an IT department which is part of a large organisation, the one day limit to open sessions is too restrictive for working with ordinary users who may only need to join a workshop occasionally. The duration of the Open Session should be configurable (both edit and view) by the Editor in Professional and Enterprise Licences.
I’m working across several teams with complex flows, and need a way to inherit the updates to those flows that other teams are making in real-time (screen order, specific screens, flow lines). So when one of those teams make a lot of small or big changes to their flow, currently I’m having to manually update my files, which is error-prone, time-consuming, and tedious. I’m imagining something like a component for an entire artboard as an “page-level” component. Many layers of nested components - i.e. atomic, molecule, organism, templates, *pages*. Right now there are a lot of limitations using components for this use case (i.e. connector lines don’t always work, components are cumbersome at that scale, restricted max nesting layers). Alternatively, we could have an iframe or window that shows the other flows.
We could use IF, ELSE IF, ELSE statements… Many times in code you may want to do many different things based on different string values For example, I might have three different landing pages based on 3 conditions, and upon button press I might want to say IF “has-users”==0 goto empty landing ELSE IF “has-users”==1 goto landing a ELSE IF “has-users”==2 goto landing b ELSE goto other
I'm a student learning on courser, I got a mail to reverify my account, I did that following Coursera instructions, that where am learning, so I choose online program but it keeps saying contact an admin and I don't know which admin to contact I have tried all other options but its not working and am close to completing my portfolio...please is there any solution
To give a great alt text to your Site’s imagery, you need a large enough area to create the best kind of alt text. Please increase the size of the input field for Alt Text. Please also consider putting AI to generate better accessible text for screen reader users.
In a company with loads of users, it could be nice for the amdinistrator to rename each members because sometimes when they join team they use a nick name, or an other way to write their name. It could be nice to create group of users, like all gest, and/or with their company email to see quickly their role and maybe define role for a group of user (especially if multiple users of an other company have to be in our organisation)
I’ve recently started exploring Figma’s AI features, and while I truly appreciate the innovation, I find myself a bit concerned about the current pricing structure and the way credits are managed. I completely understand that these tools require resources to develop and maintain, but I wonder if there might be more flexible or transparent options in the future. What approaches or solutions are most commonly adopted by teams facing similar concerns?
For those that don’t use keyboard shortcuts, adding “Show/Hide annotations” to the context menu would be invaluable.
### BackgroundCurrently, the tool only supports English interface/documentation. Many Chinese developers are using it and would benefit from a localized version.目前该工具仅支持英文界面或文档。 许多中文用户在使用时会遇到理解障碍,希望能有中文版本或多语言支持。### Suggestion- Provide i18n (internationalization) support.- Allow community translation (e.g., via Crowdin or Weblate).- At least support Chinese documentation.建议:- 提供 i18n 国际化机制;- 支持社区翻译(如 Crowdin/Weblate);- 或先支持中文文档版本。### Additional infoI’m willing to help translate if needed. 如有需要,我愿意协助中文翻译工作。
It would be useful to see the email address of the user in the "Share this file" pop up as it is hard to recognise them by the name they enter or some times the same name for different users is displayed. I am never too sure of which user to want to edit access of or remove.
There’s a bug on grid. If I move a component with a vertical grid into another frame/component, it takes on a fixed property instead of fill
