It would be great if Figma can let users control the shape and placement of prototype connectors and also make them visible to anyone viewing the file, so that anyone viewing the art board can get a sense of the pathway to get from one screen to the other. Use cases Handing work off to a developer, they can see what the interactions points are without having to explore the prototype. A random stakeholder browsing around your art board wanting context on what the journey is. You can connect the prototype without having to go back and draw manual lines to show the journey when viewing as an art board. UX improvement suggestions Pain points:Currently the prototype accent color is a light blue, which is hard to see over top of light backgrounds. Cannot control the shape of the flow line, so they sometimes may overlap other frames or artifacts, making it cluttered and hard to follow. Collaborators can only see this if they are editors and have prototyping mode turned on. Suggestions:Instead
the Windows app is really crap, it is nothing more than a webview around the website, it is not a real, full feature, efficiente native app ☹️
Is there a way for me to set color to a property without creating additional variables? Like, I don’t have enough modes to do this well and also modes is a little clunky for prototyping. Trying anything to cut layers.
Hello Figma, wonder if we could create something like a tiny “link button” to set the flow name as the frame name instead of writing it twice and to be more descriptive in case a user forgot to set a title to the flow. and maybe the frame takes the name from the flow name in case there is no other frame has the same name of the frame
Hi, My font can’t be set to Italic, on the right side menu there is not italic option, and when I select the left side menu, FIGMA/Text/Italic, nothing happens. The font I stored in my project and this applies for all users in our team and on windows app as well on the web browser. The font is blinker, you find it here:Google Fonts This font has no problem with italic in other software, like office, gimp, Inkscape etc, or in web apps. What can I do?
It would be awesome if I could choose a variable mode to be the default in my design file. Let’s say you have 3 product brands that your design team works on. You’ve gone ahead and built out your tokens so that each brand has its own variable mode. Awesome, this allows you to share the same styling rules across your product suite. BUT, now whenever you’re designing for brands 2 and 3, you are forced to work/explore/iterate in a space that has mode 1 set as the default (brand number 1 is the first variable mode by order in the local variable panel and thus the default). This means that designers working on brands 2 and 3 will CONSTANTLY be needing to go to the mode switcher and updating the mode. They will need to set the mode every time they: create a new frame pull out a new component have to draw a frame around UI exploration because the Figma canvas is set to the first mode by default. This seems suuuuuper tedious and can be easily solved by having a “File Mode” or “Default file m
Hi guys! Is there a way to “lock” specific variants/overrides and color options in a component used in two products? For example, I want to enable color selection/override in product “A” but don’t want designers to change color or override in product “B”. Thanks!
I use a big screen, and Figma’s window is usually maximized. As a result, I very often miss various popups because they’re way too small and appear somewhere in the corner where I don’t look. For example, I just tried to insert a link with a shortcut and it didn’t work, a hint appeared in the corner, but I only saw it in half an hour, and only because another window was on top of Figma and that corner was the only visible part. Here’s how it looks for me (and this is a unusual example with an almost empty page, usually pages contain a lot of elements and I pay even less attention to the screen margins).
My team uses Figjam to do our quarterly planning. For each sprint in the quarter we import each issue. It would be very ideal to have the story points assigned to the ticket show up in the (unexpanded) widget (ie, beside the ‘Priority’ section in the bottom right corner). As a workaround, for each ticket we manually:1) create a square shape2) modify the text to equal the story point value found in jira3) drag it over the issue widget and group it - Note: this grouping functionality doesn’t seem to work if the widget is ‘on top’ of a section or other widget, so we have to drag it into dead space to group and ungroup. This is messy. Sometimes when attempting to move the widgets around, they move without their grouped ‘story point label’ square (user error, sure, but it still happens as a result).
I love the idea of being able to populate screens/wires with sample content, but why can’t I tailor a prompt to get the correct content first? Currently, I have to select the frame, press “replace content” and then wait for it to change everything before clicking “make changes” to then provide it the context needed to replace the content with information specific to the app I design for. Considering AI provides better outcomes with more context, why make me wait for the inevitably wrong content to populate before providing this option?
Hi Figma!I would love to see an option to “Apply a variable” in the Dashes and Gaps number.(Found in Advanced stroke settings)Thanks!Ethan
The previous UIAs my habits, the Plugins function is very important and common. But in the New one I can’t find it visualized. But I also want to try the new UI more. So,Can you add back the Plugins on the screen?
Aha! has Epics, Features and Ideas that I need to reference and update while I am designing. I would like to be able to embed them into Figma in the same way that Asana Tasks and Jira Tickets work. Fields I would expect to be able to see:Aha Reference # Description Status Assign toField that I would like to see:Related items (links) Comments Vote summary (ideas only) Requirements (epics only) Redacted screenshot of how my team is using Jira right now
Most of my time doing mock ups in Figma consists in creating rectangle boxes and then manually creating text boxes on top, which need to be constantly readjusted clunkily. The success of Canva as a design app for posters, CVs, etc is the excellent and seamless feature the app presents the user regarding the possibility of assigning a text automatically to every shape, and centering that text in an automatic way. This has really democratized design capabilities to the masses.I wish Figma also had this feature, which would speed up considerably my work flow.
Besides a PC, I work with an iPad with an Apple Pencil. In the FigJam for iPad, I found the eraser tool has no option like “pixel eraser” to remove part of my sketch strokes. This feature is widely available in many other apps including the native iOS Notes app. It is productive for hand drawing and prototyping. I would recommend it.
I have a bunch of illustrations in two different sizes & I would like to change the stroke thickness for the smaller size. I've locked the larger illustrations, but when I select the stroke type I would like to change and hit -> "select all with similar stroke" it also selects the locked layers of the larger illustrations… How can I avoid this or does anyone know a workaround? Grouping in frames or sections or hide the layers doesn't help either and renaming the layers is crazy work as there are thousands of vector layers in those illustrations + their variants. I don't understand the purpose of a locked layer if I can still edit it? I can't even easily drag-deselect as that option doesn't exist in Figma AND shift clicking the main frame to deselect the object and its children doesn't work because… the layer is locked 🤔 Unless I'm missing something, this is quite the catch-22!
Hi, When editing my Figma Community profile, I noticed there are only two preset options for social links: Twitter and Instagram.I would really like to see Bluesky added to these, or, even better, if these fields detected the website you enter and inserted the appropriate icon, like Github does.Thank you! Figma Community: only 2 social media options Github: link is detected automatically
When I create a set of components for a set of icons and take an icon from them to put it in a another components I need to change it to another variant but icon name is not enough, I think if I can see the icon it self next to the name it would be great. I understand it may not working for all components, but you can make preview variants like an option in the parent component and users can active it if they its needed.
To edit the figma jam file in phone, first you need to open the figma jam file in chrome browser. Then in tap the options of browser in top right corner. Then scroll down and enable desktop site. And here you are, now you can edit the file. Also for the drag you need to zoom in and out like you do for photos.
Chaining resizing options (fill container, fixed, hug etc) on auto layout frames takes a lot of time. it would be great to have keyboard shortcuts for them. If not keyboard short cuts then commands I can get to with cmd+P. Also: I thing double clicking an edge could make it fill the container (similar to hitting the edge of a text area) Suggestions (given that auto layout is Shift+A): SHIFT+A happens on release, not key down so that you can then… SHIFT+A+LEFT = Hug SHIFT+A+RIGHT = Fill SHIFT+A+DOWN = Fixed Existing:
Hi!It’s great that we have the skip slides functionality but it would be even better if we could add additional functionality of being able to ‘Hide Slide’ from the presentation flow but still be able to link to – this would be very helpful for slides that are being shared and you want to supply additional info but its not imperative to the flow of the deck – so they act like an overlay/pop up Thanks ✌️
Currently trying Slides and loving it! One thing I will really love is to have “hide slide” or “skip slide”. Besides having different versions to review in the end, but also to be able tailor contents for different audiences. Looking forward to sharing this tool to my non-designer coworkers!
Instead of having to guess what a selected object will look like in a certain color, selecting the color, then if it doesn’t look right, changing my mind and going to the palette again, why not just preview the change to a selected object live in the document on hover over the palette? That way I could see how it changes the design? Kind of how shopping for a different color tshirt, if you hover over the color dots it will change the manequin’s shirt color.
Hey everyone,I've noticed that the transition from a pixel-perfect Figma design to a fully functional Elementor build can sometimes be more complicated than expected. Whether it's aligning responsive layouts, dealing with plugin limitations, or managing custom code and design tokens, many of us have faced hurdles along the way. Here are a few common issues that often come up:Responsive Design Breakdowns: What looks great in Figma doesn't always adapt well in Elementor. Plugin vs. Manual Conversion: Automated plugins may save time but often compromise on precision or flexibility. Integrating Custom CSS/Code: Sometimes achieving the exact look requires extra tweaking and manual code adjustments. Component Consistency: Keeping design tokens and shared styles uniform across projects can be a real headache. Workflow Efficiency: Balancing speed with quality when recreating complex components.I’d love to hear from you—what specific challenges have you encountered when converting Figma designs
Basic use caseI have a menu component which is composed of:header frame body frame footer frameIn the body frame there is a menu-list-item component. When I use a menu component instance I would like to be able, in the properties panel, to increase the number of menu-list-item to n instances.Feature suggestion: would be a feature that would allow me to flag the menu-list-item as a component instance that can be replicated n times inside my instance, either vertically or horizontally. It would avoid the cumbersome and not so clean workaround of working with slots/placeholders and keep in files plenty of “unique content component”.Other use caseIn my input, when in “inserted” state I can either choose to have chips or text.In the case of chips I would like to flag the chips as elements that can be replicated n times horizontally. In my instance I would be then able to select the “insterted” state of my input with chips instead of text and would be able to put multiple chips as result.
