The Figma boards I work with (on Mac) are very wide and tall. The slider navigation is just too hard to grab on the bottom of the screen when there are other menus popped over, and it disappears into the board and into the images, perhaps there could be a setting allowing the user to change the color to meet their current visibility needs. It would also be nice if the right and left menus could be easier to fully minimize out of the way (without using the permanent setting to remove them from my view). I am not always working on an external monitor and on the 14” screen these take up almost 4” of the design window.

A thing that would be great would be to have the same pages concept as in Figjam and the design files. I have weekly updates with my client, and I don’t want to create a new Slide document every week. I’d love to have all my slide decks under the same file.

Coloring strokeHi guys,I have an idea that can we have all stroke property below for each generated color?For example, I want right stroke to be blue, and down stroke to be black, how can I do that? 

To better organize team hierchy allow ability to upload cover photos to projects within a team

I think it would be awesome to have categories to organize saved community files, just like Pinterest, Instagram, etc. So it would be easier to find something I saved for later.

Currently, in Figma, the "Frame Selection" feature allows users to wrap a selected layer or instance in a frame. However, there is no built-in functionality to apply this action to multiple selected instances such that each instance is framed individually. Instead, users need to frame each instance manually one by one, which can be tedious and time-consuming, especially when working with a large number of instances.Proposed Solution: Introduce a new option, "Frame Each Selection", that:Automatically wraps each selected instance (or layer) into its own separate frame. Maintains the hierarchy and positioning of the original instances within their new frames.This feature would improve efficiency by reducing repetitive actions and enhancing workflow productivity, especially for users dealing with batch processing or large-scale design projects.

When Figma publishes a component library for large files, the waiting time for publishing is particularly long, which can easily result in disconnection during the publishing process. I suggest optimizing the functionality of publishing component libraries for large files in Figma.

If Auto Layout and constraints are not used, there should be a button that automatically adjusts the frame height from the bottom to the last design element when clicked. This would remove the need to do it manually for each frame.

Hello! I would like to suggest improving the plugins catalog in Community (not search). https://www.figma.com/community/design-tools?resource_type=plugins It is the filters that currently limit the search for interesting plugins. Because now only the top plugins are shown. It would be good to add: Sorting by date, trending, likes More accurate selection of subcategories (text, effects, ai … ) Show dynamic search near filters (Ajax) Review-rating system (need to add new feature) If the plugin is paid, then show the initial cost in the listing Maybe add “Add to favorites button” near button Open In… The first picture of the plugin as cover picture in catalog list The last date of the plugin update If you think it’ll enhance the catalog, please Vote. trying out the figma ai “make image” thing.. clients can spot the ai images, and they dont like them. They’re really small in resolution too. 👎

Hello Community/Figma,when I open my figma app and the software tells me to update and restart the app, I want to know what changes the update has brought. It's really a pain for me to find out what they've updated and I need to know if they've fixed anything. I already use the release notes via RSS integrated in my Slack but I always have to take this detour. I would also like to know more about bug fixes and small changes. The best user experience regarding changes and updates I've had so far has been with Blizzard games. Their changelog management has always worked best for me.- Changelog as overlay- What kind of update (major/minor/patch)- Category of changes such as bug fix/performance adjustment/new feature ...- A very short text about the improvement, if necessary with a link to get more information- In my personal settings I can switch on and off whether I receive an overlay or notThanks for participating and I hope I am not alone in this desire for shortcuts and more knowledge

In the variables panel, when you see variables that use aliases, e.g Semantic Variables that use Primitives, it would be great if you could click on the alias variable and then be taken to the original of that variable. This would make it easier when navigating large, nested variable design systems.

Is there a way to see a list of files and teams I have access to? Sometimes, the wrong account gets added as an editor or viewer by accident (due to multiple account usage, personal and work) and only admins can fix that. Would be nice to have some control over this and be able to “leave” teams that I shouldn’t have joined. About a year ago my manager told me that my personal Figma account has editor rights in our company’s Figma account and we were about to pay an editor seat for it accidentally. I had no idea this happened and I have no control over it.

Continuing the discussion from Comments | Hiding the Figma UI (`⌘`+``) and showing it again shouldn't also control comments` visibility: It would be amazing having the old Figma appearance back. It’s annoying having to press Shift + C every single time I have to open Figma (I switch accounts constantly) and the comments are always there. Figma could ask “Would you like having the comments hidden the next time you open it?” or something that would allow me to save my customizations. Cheers and have a lovely and productive week. 👍

when creating overlays you sometimes need to create multiple overlays for instance a drawer opens on the bottom (overlay 1 ) a confirmation popup ( overlay 2 ) when trying to prototype this you need to make the old overlay disapear and show the new one - that behavior doesn’t work properly.my suggestion is that any overlay has a close anyother overlay checkbox 

There is little that Slides offers me which I can’t do in Figma already - except add presenter notes. Why not just enable the ability to add presenter notes to Frames?The fact that I can’t prototype within Slides really kills the usefulness of this feature. Second, having to import all the content I’ve already created in Figma into a Slides file is a pain which could be avoided with presenter notes on Frames. 

when we publish library when there is no change to publish then Publish button sould be disalbled not active.

Section Locking: The ability to lock a specific section, preventing unauthorized users from viewing or editing its contents.  2. Access Control: Permissions settings to allow only designated team members or roles to access the locked section.  3. make it possible for the text layer to be selected not as a square, but in the form of text (enveloping the text)

Currently I can only define a variable with some absolute value or referencing it to another variable but I would also like to define it using operations on other variables. for example Total Fee Amount = 100000 Paid Amount = 20000 then Unpaid Amount = Total Fee Amount - Paid Amount

Since Figma has all of information regarding design and layouts. I like to reference @ Figma pages or components (in addition to  multiple references) so that I simply build it accordingly to the specifications within my Cursor. That way, the Claude LLM can produce the necessary code while adhering to the organization of my codebase.

The new aspect ratio lock is good so far, I have no problems with it, but I think we can make it great.I was just using the feature for locking the aspect ratios of images and using auto-layout and fill width to grow/shrink the images to fill the frame. That works well, but I noticed two things:Order of operations: I have to set a fixed height and width first with the aspect ratio I want (400px X 300px for example for a 4:3 ratio), then I can lock the aspect ratio, then I can set the width or height to fill. Not the end of the world, but it takes a couple of steps. What if we could specify the ratio we want at any time? For example, place an image, set it to fill the frame, then specify the ratio. Maybe it’s a dropdown select of common aspect ratios or maybe it’s a manual input. Usefulness for developers: When inspecting the image in Dev Mode, the aspect ratio really isn’t helpful. For example, on one of my images with a 3:2 ratio, the CSS style for the image says “aspect-ratio: 332.0

I have a big icon library where every icon is its own component set with 9 variants. I need to add the same properties on all component sets. Bulk editing multiple component sets at the same time would be a huge time saver.

Because Figma only supports pixels, and we often have to translate pixels into other units for Fonts, etc., it would be great to document these conversions in the style’s description and have it show in the inspect panel. The description field is already available for editing in the style settings, so adding its value to the inspect panel would make it much more useful.

I spent a good amount of time searching for mockups that match the ones I’m presenting my work in. The device frames presented by Figma are exactly what I’m looking for. There should be an option to “Export with Device Frame”. The prototyping feature does already has a lot of device mockups with pretty good quality to showcase designs. Does anyone else feel that this would save them a lot of time?
