This suggestion is the result of a random gripe in Figjam, but i don’t always like using stickies in figjam as they are big and bulky and have limited style options. i love the AI sorting features for things like card sorting, but this is only possible with stickies.I’d much prefer to use the rectangles and other shapes to group things like fields in a complex profile. they’re smaller and less annoying to resize and rearrange. this makes it easier to export snapshots to send to stakeholders, as let’s be real - many normal business folks just don’t understand how to navigate horizontal scrolling or infinite canvases. the sorting works great, just don’t force sticky notes. or give us more freedom to style and resize stickies. The rectangles on the left are smaller and easier to style than the stickies.
I spend a lot of time clicking "search all libraries" when there are zero results to a component search, such as when swapping an instance. Can we default to searching all libraries if there are zero results, and just note that there are zero results in the highlighted library (I’m not even sure which library is being searched or why that one is being searched instead of the others, by the way, so that’s a UX issue).
Every time i go to paste replace a section of my website instead of pasting exactly where i want, it puts it at the bottom of the autolayout stack. Figma can you fix this?
In the old permissions, you can the ability to see if a person had view permissions for a specific file, now you cannot. I would go through and proactively invite people who had a single file permission to the team so that we don’t have to piecemeal provide permissions. With the new permissions wether a person has access to view a single file, or all the files on the team, they have a “View” seat type. I need a way to see who is only viewing a file vs viewing all things on the team.
It’s been daaaaaaaaaaaaays.
Artificial intelligence companies are transforming how users interact with digital products. From personalized recommendations to intelligent chatbots, AI is becoming a core part of modern UI/UX design.Designers now face a unique challenge—creating interfaces that not only look great but also support complex AI-driven functions. It's no longer just about static screens; it's about designing dynamic systems that adapt, learn, and evolve with user behavior. As artificial intelligence companies continue to push innovation, UX designers must consider how to maintain trust, transparency, and simplicity in AI-powered experiences. Whether you're working on voice interfaces, smart assistants, or predictive dashboards, your role in shaping the future is more important than ever.
First of all, STOP hiding important values like dimensions from me in place of an auto layout value. This is the biggest annoyance I have with the new design. It’s like you tried to simply things, but now the whole UI feels more cluttered and busier than ever. The fact, I have to stop concentrating on what Im working on and move my mouse all the way to the side panel, and then PRECISELY hover a tiny rectangle to get a fundamental dimension, is so unpolished as an interaction. Don’t hide dimension values!!!
It would be great if the Color Contrast Checker could also work for variable. I had to disconnect my variable or style just to check the contrast ratio.
Hey folks,I’ve been using Figma AI lately, and honestly… it sucks. I had high hopes – I mean, AI in design sounds like a dream, right? But the reality is far from it. It’s clunky, barely understands prompts beyond surface-level UI, and ends up creating generic screens that I still have to completely redesign.Instead of speeding things up, I’m spending more time cleaning up AI-generated junk than I would if I just designed it from scratch. It feels like a beta version of something that might be useful one day… but it’s definitely not there yet.Has anyone actually had success using Figma AI in real-world projects? Or are we all just nodding along pretending it’s the future when it’s really just a waste of time?Would love to hear your thoughts – maybe I’m missing something?
It’s rare that I use groups, but I do have a doc with a dozen variations on a layout in a frame that I had grouped to hide the frame names on the canvas and I was surprised that when I selected a child frame in one of them, Select Matching Layers returned “No matching layers to select” for what should have been matches for the other child frames of the frames in the group (and do match if those parent frames are ungrouped).I would expect Select Matching Layers to work the same way in a group as it does for a section (where matching children are found, but limited to within just the parents in the section). I guess I’ve always considered the contents of groups (and sections) to be a “loose” collection compared to the “rigid” collection of the contents of frames.
Issue:While creating a text style, the input field slightly shifts or moves when I click to type (from default to selected state). This movement feels like a glitch — the field shouldn't animate (or) reposition when it's focused.Expected Behavior:There should be no transition or movement. Only the visual state (like border or highlight) should change on selection, without affecting layout or positioning.Steps: Open the text styles panel. Click "Create Style." Click into the input field and start typing. Notice the slight movement or glitch as it changes to the selected state. Note:I’m wondering if this movement was added intentionally for a specific reason. Let me know if I missed anything!
I tried AI image generation, and I was shocked. Bro, this free tool has some built-in styles, you can try it: https://www.aiimagegenerate.cc/image-art-creator
For at least nine months, Figma has known about, and seemingly completely ignored, the fact that putting the toolbar on the bottom is unintuitive, and unrequested. I don’t understand why something so small has gone unaddressed so long, especially since the 2nd biggest thread on the forum is the feature being universally hated. Why change something that wasn’t broken?
I work on iOS and always have at least three browser installed in my computer. I also use different logins for different platforms. I don´t want to change my default browser so each time I need do a web login in Figma I have to copy and paste it to the browser my login credentials are linked. I don`t know if anyone is having similar problems or if this is a personal ignorance. I think instead of redirecting user to the default browser, the link for web login could be shown in a menu with system installed browser options. I believe, this could prevent some of web login issues. Thanks for reading
In the “All teams” view, I want to be able to click on a user in the right column and see what projects they’ve updated or own. I can do this for listed Admin users, but I cannot do this for others in the team now. WHY?? Admins are typically not the heaviest creators in the tool, so this change makes no sense to me. I used to be able to see users in the right column with edit/create permissions in Figma, and could get a filtered view showing their work in the application. That’s what I need -- and frankly depend on because Figma organization and findability is so challenging. IT is TOO HARD to go into the left nav “Recents” item and dig for files that a user may or may not have shared with me. This is a major loss in functionality for those trying to find work from a specific team member across a large team. You’ve injected unnecessary steps into the workflow here, and I see no benefits to removing functionality that was working and forcing users into the “Recents” page to fil
I can’t paste an image from Google Docs into Figma even though I can paste it into other apps.In Google Docs I either cmd-c or right-click, Copy.In Figma I cmd-v or right-click, Paste Here. Nothing happens.I can paste the image into other apps. I have successfully pasted the image into TextEdit, for example. I know Google Docs used to require workarounds to get images out. Despite confirming the image is available, I still can’t paste it into Figma. The native clipboard viewer on the Mac (finder, edit → show clipboard) can show images copied from elsewhere (e.g. Chrome right click, copy image) but also doesn’t show the Google Docs image. So it’s on the clipboard but in an unusual format. However it’s clearly available in some form or other apps wouldn’t be able to ingest the image when pasted there. It would be very helpful for Figma, which relies heavily on images, to explore if it’s possible to access Google Docs images from the clipboard.
Before, when changing color or stroke style, I was able to see changes while I was doing it. Now the element stays selected and restricts me to see what I am changing it to. Very uncomfortable, because I have to deselect it, see my result, then select it again and keep doing it until the final result
I find it very annoying and it’s almost a slap in the face when you continue to spend time on things like, “Figpal” when there’s plenty of stuff we’ve all been asking for that you have yet to touch. Many of us don’t care about AI and all this other fluff. We have real functions and fixes we’re waiting on.
In the old UI we could set an auto layout to Fixed height and provide a measurement separately. Now the measurement AND layout options (Hug etc.) are combined into a single dropdown. It took me over a minute to find the Hug contents option for an auto-layout that had a fixed size. Please don’t merge things for the sake of real estate alone.
Hello, I have some feedback related to the UI3 library display. Visually it's pretty but the UX causes for additional clicks and a slowed down work flow. I’ve designed at 4 large corporate companies and these corporations (Allstate, United airlines, Walmart and Bath&body works) all have large libraries. It was so nice being able to have commonly used components expanded open so I could quickly grab and drop the components I need. Now in UI3 it requires me to have 2 extra clicks to go between components. I would like to suggest that the new UI3 library UI be a type of view. Such as calling it “Preview view”. Allow users to still select the old accordion style grid view. This would be preferred for more senior level designers who want to move quickly and not have multiple unnecessary clicks.
UI2 has built over time muscle memory, users understand exactly where to go to utilize features and tools. Switching the position, shape or order of tools causes significant churn. I have tried UI3 multiple times in the past few months and see major changes being rolled back to where UI2 was initially. I almost always go back to UI2 as its still more functional personally.
It’s frustrating to see annotations and measurements in design mode. Is there a way to hide it for design mode altogether? I know Shift + Y hides it once, but it also hides in dev-mode. Possible solutions to this Hide annotations and measurements only in design mode. Switching to dev-mode shows them Go back to how it was before. Show cues of annotations in design mode, and double clicking would take them to dev-mode. It’s pretty useless to see these when designing. And can get to cluttered and in the way of seeing the design properly.
I love FigPals. I use Figma 99% and FigJam 1% of the time. I wish to see FigPals come back to Figma.Pleeeeeeease!
The new icons look good, except for the “design file”-icon. As you can see at a glance, the design-files don’t look as sharp as they did.The design file icons are1) bigger than the others2) a bit misaligned in contrary to post-it’s and books.3) very anti-aliased (Meaning it looks blurry, or smoothed out)Keep in mind, this is a normal full hd-screenA side note: it is typical of designers in figma to zoom in and not realize that their icons in reality will not render as if zoomed 5x in. I assume about 50% of your users have 1920x1080p screens. My main wish is for you to make the pen more clear roll it back to previous iconography (it worked great - and was clearly a pen) Align things visually (keep in mind, this is different from aligning things technically)Sorry for my bluntness, but it is oftentimes better to be blunt and clear than to be imprecise and kind.
