Hey everyone! πŸ‘‹

While working on multiple Figma files and projects recently, I had a thought:
Wouldn't it be amazing if Figma allowed us to group open tabs – just like how Google Chrome lets you group browser tabs?

Think about it:

  • You’re juggling 10+ Figma files – components, design systems, live projects, brainstorm boards, etc.

  • Having the ability to visually group tabs by project, workflow stage, or type (e.g., assets, prototypes) would massively boost productivity and reduce visual clutter.

  • Maybe even color-code them or collapse/expand tab groups? πŸ”₯

This small feature could make a huge difference for designers, especially in larger teams or during fast-paced sprints.

πŸ—£οΈοΈ Let’s Discuss:

  • Do you also feel overwhelmed by too many open tabs in Figma?

  • How would tab grouping improve your workflow?

  • What would be your ideal way to organize Figma tabs?

Let’s get the community’s voice heard – maybe the Figma team will notice! πŸ™Œ

Absolutely agree! πŸ™Œ
This idea hits home – juggling multiple Figma tabs during fast-paced sprints can get really overwhelming. I often find myself hunting for the right tab, especially when switching between components, design system files, and ongoing screens.

Tab grouping – especially with labels, colors, or even the ability to collapse groups – would be a game-changer.
Just like Chrome's tab groups, it could let us organize files by:

  • πŸ”Ή Project (Client A, Internal Tools)

  • πŸ”Ή Type (Components, Prototypes, Assets)

  • πŸ”Ή Workflow stage (In Progress, Review, Final)

It’s not just about aesthetics – it’s about focus and flow. Cleaner workspace, fewer distractions, faster access.

Would love to see this feature get traction. Hope the Figma team is listening! πŸ‘€πŸ’‘
+1 from me! βœ…
