Where do I create my variables and token for multiple files?

Paula_Mourad

Hi! I’m new to the concept of variables and tokens. I have several Figma files, and I’ve been using a style library until now. I can assign my library to every new file I created. How does it work with variables and tokens? Should I create them in a library? Is this something I’ll have to replicate on each file?

You can have them in your core library indeed. After you define tokens and publish them they will become available in all your files that consume from that library

I still don’t see where I can reuse it even tho I can see them appearing on the library. I use the export/import variables plugin instead, to move my variables around multiple projects
