I received the pretendard and suit fonts and re-ran the Figma desktop app, but it didn’t work properly. If I reinstall the font, it works for a while, but it doesn’t work again if I reboot. what should i do

Hello, I couldn’t click the options when I opened the right-click menu. It happened when I updated my Figma to the latest version (124.3.2). Has anyone experienced this issue?

This has happened when other users in my company with view/edit capabilities are looking through designs and see a rectangle that’s off, the placement is weird/incorrect, or a symbol is glitching/different than it should be. Other users have also sent me screenshots where there are huge artboards all over the current design that shouldn’t be there, and aren’t there/dont exist on my end.

Hi, i am new to Figma and while testing the free version, i am stuck with entering a test. I searched this forum, but i could not find any real help so far. I performed all the advised steps to similar issues: I add a frame and choose the text tool, then i should be able to simply click and write or draw a text field and write. When i want to type, my keybord keys move through the menu bar on top and also to the right part where you can edit the components. But no text. When I enter a Text via the left navigation (layers, assets), i cannot see it in the frame. I use a macbook air 2018 with the latest OS. Any advise? Thanks and cheers

We’ve begun using string variables in our designs to capitalize on the benefits of maintaining a single source of truth, ensuring our designs remain up-to-date. Here’s our vision: Currently, we’ve developed an in-house plugin that interfaces with Figma string variables to generate an XLS file containing a list of keys and values for our localization team to translate. However, this process isn’t fully automated yet—we still need to manually generate the XLS document from the Plugin, download it, and upload it to the backend. We utilize the variable folder structure to create keys and identify the context of the text. The plugin then adds the platform-specific prefix to each key before generating the XLS file. So far, this system is working well! Looking ahead, our roadmap includes developing a fully automated system where Figma variables serve as the source of truth

How can I scroll the design without moving the cursor when I preview prototype mode? It’s annoying that the cursor moves when scrolling.

A problem I’m running into is that text layers within Figma aren’t vertically aligned within their bounding box. The additional space at the bottom of the text layer creates an offset that causes a disconnect between the dev build and the Figma components. Within the dev build, copying the Figma specs 1:1 results in the browser displaying the font vertically aligned within the button as it should. What would be the right approach to fix this to align the two? I don’t want to depend on vertical trim as a solution because as far as I know, vertical trim is still something that’s being drafted and I don’t want to depend on a feature that a majority of browsers don’t support yet.

I have developed an animated Chat widget icon that allows users to close the widget icon (so it’s not obtrusive on every page) and animates the chat icon to the navigation, so users can see it move from bottom right corner to nav bar. That way they know it’s clearly still available (but out of the way). My question is about ADA compliance for an animation like that since it happens outside of an initial screen read of the nav and would need to trigger some messaging to the screen reader as to where to find the Chat widget if necessary. Does anyone have any experience with this type of animation and ADA compliance?

I’m currently refining my design system in Figma and have encountered a challenge in managing autonomous components (like buttons or links that work independently) versus nested components that need to be part of a structured list or group to function properly. For example, I’ve created a Stepper Item component that represents a single step in a stepper flow. To create a complete stepper, multiple Stepper Items need to be combined. The challenge is that the number of these nested components can vary depending on the project, which complicates things: Option 1: I could create variants for each possible configuration (a stepper with 3 steps, a stepper with 4 steps, a stepper with 5 steps, etc.), but this quickly becomes unmanageable due to the sheer number of potential combinations. Is it OK my Figma desktop doesn’t get updated for 2024 summer version? All my friends already have that but i am not

I use Mac’s Spoken Content feature a lot; it helps provide different dynamics when proofreading. It works once, if you restart Figma but not the second time… Basically, the Mac reads you back highlighted copy with a hotkey. Funnily enough, a few Adobe products have this problem as well. Anyone have any ideas?

Hello community, I need some real expert advice. We have the following situation: A global design team creates the libraries for all European design teams. Our German files are linked to the global libraries. Every month we receive an update of the library with new elements (e.g. icons) Each library update has an updated name (the date is the first part of the library name, e.g. “240612-Library-global”) Here are my questions and possible solutions: Question 1: Can I “update” a library, i.e. replace it with a new file, keeping only the differences? Question 2: Or do I have to disconnect the old library in my files and connect the new library? And then - it sounds too cruel to be true - manually reassign all components to this new library? I would like to prototype a mega menu in Figma and have all the links in this prototype work as well. Ideally, I want to do this using a component so that I only have to set up the links once. Is this possible? The mega menu consists of 4 different drop-down submenus, each containing various links. I couldn’t quickly find an example of a mega menu that was both animated and had working links.

Overriding component properties on childe components is something only Figma does not DX, Sketch, PenPot just Figma. But, this feature does not work if you swop a child components properties the overdoes will not be reflected on the prototype preview.

I am experiencing a situation where the color library popup is remaining attached to my mouse when I replace missing selection colors. I have condensed several of my color palettes, which left me with missing colors for some components. As I go through and replace the missing colors, the color library popup sticks to the mouse until I hit the ESC button. If I press the primary mouse button, it changes the color to whatever my mouse is on. I have a video of this, but “new users cannot upload attachments”.

Gif is not working in prototype. First it was working quiet good but after sometime I tried to play it again in prototype it was not playing. Along with that i made Text scrolling animation it is also not showing any scrolling in Figma prototype.

I was still modifying the page two days ago, but when I checked the project today, I found that basically all the files were lost.

Hello! I’m having a little problem with the new video tool. Basically, I have a video that I want to use, it’s a cyber city with some particles going around. When I add the video to the Design Mode, the thumbnail appears in good quality, even the first time that I start the Presentation Mode the video looks really crisp as the original, however, the moment I add that video to a component or do whatever (resizing, add a shape, etc…) when I go into Presentation Mode the resolution lowers A LOT. Is Figma doing the same thing it does with images? Thank you in advance for any kind of response.

I have tried to reinstall the font, reinstall the Figma, restarting my computer, nothing works 🙂
