IM using the paid version of Figma over 4 months now… the new ai Figma version still hasnt updated for me, why ? im using an imac

I work with Figma in my company and I do have a web-browser-based access to my teams pages/etc, however I’ve just downloaded Win desktop app and logged in with same company credentials… and nothing is synchronized (I am a lonely newbie in my desktop app :/)… has anybody suffered similar case?

Hi! I’m having some issues with my components turning into frames that contain variations, and I’m not sure why. This results in the child components not communicating with the parent component. I’m not sure if the picture uploaded correctly, but as you can see, on the artboard, it looks like a parent component, but in the layers panel, it appears as something else…

Hi, i am trying to prototype an onboarding screen which needs to be dragged to get to the next screen but i don’t seem to get. i tried to set the prototype drag between the two frames but it didn’t drag, i tried to set between the swipe icon and the next frame but nothing happened, i even tried to set as a component. Please help me i am so confused and stuck.

Hi everyone! I’m trying to open a file, but it wont load. I have the same problem in desktop app and online. I think this has happened when I add a gif to my project. Can anyone help me? I need to open the file again. I can open other files, but not that one. Thanks in advance.

Hi everyone, Did anyone faced an issue when variant is missing when you switch mode? Let’s say I have a component with 2 variants: default, disabled. I link it’s instance to a string value with the same name. When I switch mode, it works perfectly fine, but in design system file only. Once published it stops working. As soon as I switch mode, instance disappears. Regenerate all instances (slow) command fixes the issue, but temporarily only until next launch. If another users opens the file, they don’t see a component if they don’t run a command or simply double click where instance suppose to be. Also, the actual component has a nested component, maybe this is a reason why it doesn’t work? But if it’s so, it doesn’t make a lot of sense. I mean, I have a bunch of _base sub components or atoms, which I use in a complex components and not willing to sacrifice them. Any suggestions will be helpful.

Hello everyone, I wanted to know if anyone knows how to remove a variable through the plugin API. I couldn’t find anything by analyzing the documentation.

When I select certain elements in FigJam and export them as images (png,jpg), large margins are created. When exporting, no margins are required. Is there any way to export without these margins? *I am referring to the behavior on FigJam, not Figma

When viewing the asset panel that includes components which use a slash naming convention, for example… page-name/component-group-name/component-a-name page-name/component-group-name/component-b-name …within Figma’s UI3’s asset panel, these components no longer show the tree nodes defined by that slash naming convention. Instead they only show the component name. In Figma’s previous asset panel UI, the slash naming convention organized components into nodes. Is this a bug in UI3? Meaning should we expect the slash naming convention to work as it has? or will component organization no longer organize itself the same way in UI3? Would be very helpful to understand as lots of design systems leverage this naming convention to help organizations find things (even when using search).

Whenever I duplicate a page, the main components link to the previous page. I feel like if i duplicate the page the main components should link to the new duplicate page. Kind of hard to explain, but does anyone know or have run into this issue?

Hi: I have created an accordion component with an image fill inside the dropdown. I insert an instance of the component I replace the image fill of the frame inside the component I close the file Upon reopening the file, the image fill has reverted back to the component fill. Here is a video that walks through the sequence. Any ideas what is happening?

Holding down the Z-key should persist the MAGNIFYING GLASS ICON, to keep it showing (in place of the mouse-cursor ARROW icon) but it doesn’t. Instead, the MAGNIFYING GLASS ICON vanishes, and is replaced by the cursor-ARROW icon. But clicking continues to invoke ZOOMING. Please fix.

I was using the draft and suddenly it disappeared. It is not in the deleted drafts nor has it been moved to another project.

zooming based on a user’s drag-to-set-zoom area, ought to account for presence/absence of left/right “tool pallets”. currently, click-and-drag to draw the zoom-rectangle doesn’t account for the left/right tool pallets, so 25% of the zoom is obscured by your UI.tx.

This is a frustrating issue for me. When I design objects in Figma, I have multiple frames, and I move 1 object from 1 frame to the other, the object doesn’t get inside the new frame. Sometimes when I paste images from the web into a Figma frame, the image doesn’t get inside the frame’s layer, instead, it stays at the top on the layers panel. For that, when I try to export the frame, the objects inside often don’t show, and I have to manually resort the object to be inside the frame, which is both frustrating and time-consuming. Is there any way to do it automatically?

Ability to edit a the cloud based document on more devices feels essential. Is Android in the roadmap?

I changed my text style in my typography variable and it broke all components that have text in them. When clicking into the component it updates and the text goes back to normal. Is there a fix to this? Every time I open the file back up the components go back to being broken. Thanks in advance

So, if i select a component and hit Esc or click out of the frame, sometimes the purple border remains. This bug is happening several times, and i’m not sure if there’s a setting to prevent this from happening. Maybe it has something to do with multi-select action, idk…

Hello! I’m facing an issue with changing images in a carousel component in Figma. The main component has four different variables, each with placeholder images. When I try to update these images in the component instance, only the image corresponding to the active property gets updated, while the other images remain the same as in the original main component. For example, if I’m on Image 1 in the property, only Image 1 updates to the new image, but Images 2-4 stay the same as in the main component. If I switch to Image 2, only Image 2 updates, and Images 1, 3, and 4 revert to the main component’s placeholders. Any insights on resolving this would be much appreciated!

Hi 🙂 Objective: I have a PNG texture file with some black dots and a transparent background. I want to use this texture as a mask to cut out and make the black dots transparent on a text layer. Current Issue: When I apply the mask, it’s cutting out the transparent areas of the texture and applying those to the text layer, which is the opposite of what I want. Desired Outcome: I want the black dots from the texture to be cut out (made transparent) on the text layer, leaving the rest of the text layer intact. I’m not sure if I’m missing something but I can’t find an “invert mask” option. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I’ve created an advanced prototype, using variables, and conditions, it has quite a programming behind and all works perfectly. But the moment I add a hover state to buttons, to make them prettier, everything breaks after a few clicks, I get the hover states on buttons like stuck, they get the color while hovering and when I take the mouse off to another part it reminds this way, and then the same with other and I end up with lots of buttons colored like they were being hovered. Did this happen to someone? I quit trying, I just took the hover animation off and just use the buttons flat… quite boring but I need it more to work than to be pretty… sad I can’t have both
