I’ve shared access with an account that is outside our organization to edit our Figma space. The account accepted the invite, however in the sharing settings their account name appears with an exclamation mark next to it and a message that says "this person has a restricted account. They will be able to edit files when their account is upgraded. Is this a problem on their account end or is there something we can do to fix this issue?

Hi there, I am in DEV Mode and from yesterday I cannot see the layout section as usual. Before I saw something as css code and I could copy and paste it in my code. Also I had a section called “style” with more css code. Now I have a different layout with only a few properties and it is not formatted as css. How can I see what I saw before? Does anyone know how to embed your prototype into a Figma website/presentation frame? I want to embed the interactive prototype inside a website frame to create a walkthrough with dropdowns that explains certain aspects of an application with tips and hints.

Hello, I’ve question for who want to help me to better understand. I’ve an account, a team and a project, and for this my company pay a seat (professional). I need to involve a colleague in this project that work for a different company. He has already his own account and his company already pay a seat for him (professional). The question is…is there a way to work together as editors to my project using our personal account, and our personal seat paid by our companies? Thanks a lot who want to answer.

Simply trying to have a fixed nav at the top, with scrolling content. Bonus if it can go under the nav. I’ve just created my account and for my first project, I can go ahead because rectangles disseappered as soon as I drawn them. I don’t know why. Someone to help me fixe this issue

I’ve noticed that some of the design features are not displayed correctly on the right panel. For instance, the appearance options are missing. What am I doing wrong?

I have a slide in Figma Decks that uses a photo background. I’ve applied a color overlay and blur to the background. The blur set on the background affects all elements on the page. The color overlay does not affect the elements on top of it. I have tried ‘Bring to Front’ on the other elements with no change. Steps to reproduce: Create a new deck in Figma Decks. Create a new slide and add a photo background (I’m using the ‘crop’ setting) Add a color overlay Add a blur (e.g. 5%) Result: All elements on slide appear blurred. Expected result: Only background should be blurred. I recognize this product is still in beta, but this should be fixed before release or the option should be removed – I can’t see a use case for the blur option in it’s current state as it obscures any useful info on the slide. This has also been reported here.

First create a multi-button state component set named Button. Then create a component set called the Button group from the components in this component set. Modified the component style in the component set Button. These changes cannot be synchronized to the Button group component set. Why? Is there a solution?

I can’t find an article of how is the usage of applying variables to the variants of a component. I see only instances of variants that can connect to variables, but it does not work satisfyingly. Does anyone have the knowledge of how they work? I’m not talking about prototyping. this is the design side. I searched but could not find a good explanation.

Hi everyone, can anybody tell me if it is possible in Figma to synchronize the scrolling of two different overflowing frames. Imagine I have two frames (Column1 and Column2) and inside of it, I have several nested Frames (Cell) which overflow vertically. When I scroll Column1 vertically, I want that Column2 scrolls vertically as well, and vice versa. Is that possible?

There are two colors for each of these following frames only so I can see if it is scrolling. The teal and orange colors represent a frame named “Habit Titles” which has, Position: Scroll with parent and Overflow: Vertical, set. There are more teal and orange boxes which continue downward and are cut out of this visible frame The blue and red colors represent a frame named “Dates” which has, Position: Scroll with parent and Overflow: Horizontal, set. There are more blue and red boxes which continue leftward and are cut out of this visible frame The green and purple colors represent a frame named “Habit Entries” which has, Position: Scroll with parent and Overflow: Both directions, set. As I don’t see any topics that solve my problem I’m going to give it a try, since I’m getting increasingly fed up with this issue. The situation: I’m working on the component library for my organisation; I publish the changes made; I then go to the file in which the libary I just updated is used; The is no notification of an update When I check for updates in the assets panel there are updates listed; I klick on “Update” and still nothing happens So I am stuck with a library that refuses to update. It DOES however update when I close and reopen Figma. Any suggestions here besides quitting Figma and moving to the competition?

As I’m trying to export some frames, they get exported with white borders/angles around them. How can I get rid of it?

I think I had to explain to everyone in my org using Figma (30+ collaborators) that they have the option to hide the comments (shift C) from the initial view. Comments definitely get in the way of inspecting and navigating around files. Important note: I use comments a lot for note taking when presenting prototypes so they clutter the view for everyone afterwards.

Hi all, I have a component which uses another component inside, this component is expandable. When I use this component on itself it works as intended but when I try to add this newly created component the expanding of the component does not work, the height stays the same. When I detach the instance of the component the expanding functionality works again… I use auto-layout with hugging heights. I unfortunately can’t upload a video because I’m a new user

Tried exporting highed quality vector but when used for motion graphics in after effects the quality is getting hampered. Also, tried using the plugin convertify but no use xd file was not opening in Figma inorder to be opened in After Effects. Also tried eps, ai formats

In order to continue with the Education Plan, I tried to change my email address to my school email, but I accidentally created a new account with the school email. Although I have already deleted that account, when I try to change my email to the school address, it says “This email address is already in use,” and I can’t make the change. Hello, I had a free Figma account until the expiry, then I didn’t work with Figma for two months. Last week I came back and to my surprise, all of my draft design is totally gone, I mean the files are there but inside it’s like a totally blank projects. No colors, No settings, No Layers, No assets, Nothing! It’s very very frustrating. I never had this experience with Adobe XD. I upgraded my account to pro to make sure I access to all version history. but there is no version history as well. Just one point in version history from two months ago and that one is also a blank project. I’m confused, how can I get my design back?

Hi! I’m new to the concept of variables and tokens. I have several Figma files, and I’ve been using a style library until now. I can assign my library to every new file I created. How does it work with variables and tokens? Should I create them in a library? Is this something I’ll have to replicate on each file?

I searched, but dont know what the issue is… hope theres any help! I need to use Figma for school, and have put my school email in a verification thing. When I go to that site as linked by my professor it says I am already verified, and links me to the Figma browser interface. Once there, I cannot access any professional features and am asked to get a professional plan by paying. The automated customer support email tells me I am on a «Starter account» - so I gather I am NOT verified. How do I fix this? I need to join my group’s team… Thanks!

I had a starter account and was working on a design file for some time on the web. I had also opened it several times on the mobile app in past few weeks. Today I opened it on my chrome tab (it was already open) only to see it refresh and then I am not able to access or find that file again. I have NOT deleted it, hence I am seeing nothing on the deleted files list. Please help me as this is frustrating, disappointing and scary as the file had a lot of hard work put in in one month.
