Hello. I recently received an email in which they warned me that my Education License would expire. I want to renew it so I can access my projects, but my university doesn’t appear on the menu dropdown. I also can’t change my email to my university one because it automatically redirects to the actual renewing page. What can I do?

Hello! I created this component with a list item text box and a button inside a tooltip I want to be able to add more list items in an instance of the component depending on the content of the tooltip, but it’s saying that pasting is not allowed in the instance due to the tooltip being a component, so in an instance I can’t copy the list item to add a new line to the list auto-layout Is there a way to fix this? The text box, button, and the tooltip with both are all separate components
UI3 added some improvements to editing interactions, like a resizable window, but also made other things much harder. For example, if I have a statement like… If myVar > 0 and myOtherVar == true …and I need to replace myVar with myNewVar I used to be able to simply place the insertion point after myVar or use the arrow keys to move it there, delete myVar and type or pick it’s replacement. Now Figma refuses to let me do this. Instead highlighting myVar and offering up a menu of modes. If I delete myVar it then refuses to put the insertion point before the == I now have to delete the whole statement and retype it. Am I missing something here?
Hi all, I’m looking for suggestions when building new components with icons or nested components that you can turn off and on via boolean properties. How do you make sure your component is always the same height? Here’s an example: I have a text box component. I want to create the hover state show a couple of icons with available actions as well as a background. In the default state, there are no icons, just text. The text height is 18px, the icon box heights are 24px. There should be 4px of padding on top and bottom. The height of the hover state is 32, but since the icons are turned OFF in the default state, the height of the default state is 26px. I’ve found success using the minimum height that matches the size of the icon boxes. Then I can keep it hug on top and bottom so it can expand with more content. I also make sure the text is center aligned or whatever I need to match. This becomes more complicated if I have other nested components with it, for instance, if there were more
I have a component with while hovering, and click interactions on it. The component is a simple square that is a different color for default (rest), hover and active (clicked) states. If I mask an instance of this component with a vector mask the hover and click triggers do not honor the mask i.e they trigger in the rectangular “hit box” rather than only within the vector mask. Is this just how it is or am I missing something?
This may be a dumb question as I am relatively new to Figma. I tried to hunt down an answer on my own but I don’t know if I’m searching incorrectly or using the wrong verbiage…? Basically, my frames appear as I’d like in Preview mode but once I switch to Present mode the frames no longer scale. Preview mode: Present mode: I’d like Present to scale according to width (fit width). Any help would be greatly appreciated
In my prototype I have a home screen with two buttons, each with tap interaction navigating to a new screen. The first time I run the prototype both interactions work fine. But if I go back to the home screen, now only one of the interactions work. It doesn’t matter if I use button #1 or button #2, every time I go back to the home screen button #2 will no longer have an interaction. Button #1 works every time. I’ve even created a new button (just using a rectangular shape + tap interaction) and the same thing happens with that as with button #2. It works the first time I run the prototype, but if I go back, neither button #2 nor #3 will work while button #1 works just fine. Is this a bug? Have I done something weird? Am I going mad?
I had designed a screen with an Interface Scale of 66%, which messed up the Figma size vs the real size. For instance, Figma was saying the screen width was 1920px but it was actually 1920 * 3/2 = 2880px wide. The biggest issue was with the font size. Figma says it is 64px, but for a 1920px screen it should be way smaller. I fixed this issue for future screens by changing the Interface Scale to 100%. However it did not fix the existing design, which still says the screen has 1920px even though in presentation mode it is 2880px. How can I fix the existing design that had the wrong Interface Scale? I tried to scale the entire screen by 0.6666x, which visually worked, but then we have the wrong screen width again. Figma says it is 1280px, but it fits perfectly in my 1920px screen. I’ve double check that the Interface Scale is at 100% and the zoom level was 100% before clicking to present.
I am making a dropdown menu with an animation that triggers on mouse enter. I have been able to design my animation that works well and also the drop-down menu. My only problem is attaching the animated drop-down menu to the nav bar. I want the drop-down to animate in on mouse enter and animate out on mouse leave.
So I have a table of the size of the most of the viewport as the center stage. When clicking on the row of the table, it opens up a drawer from the right side as an overlay (with the help of Overlay prototyping). While this is being done, the row which opened the drawer is higlighted. Now I want to use the funtion “Close when clicking outside” and it should go back to the normal table view. However, the problem is, it goes back but to the highlighted row table. So the flow is like this, normal table view, mouse on the row (highlighted), clicked on the row to open the drawer related to it (row is here highlighted), when clicked outside of the drawer goes back to just row highlighted which is part of 3, instead it should go to 1 how to do that? Please help me.
피그마에서 pdf 추출 시 기존 디자인 화면보다 폰트나 이미지 등이 더 굵게 출력이 되는데 원인이 뭘까요?
Hello everyone, I am a beginner in Figma and I would like to know if it is possible to copy / paste a component from one file to another while keeping / copying the styles associated with this component (text, colors, effects)? When I cut and paste a component from one file to another, it works, but the styles are not transferred locally. My idea is to copy/paste a complete, local UI Kit into a Figma file. With cut/paste, I’m forced to cut/paste the styles and link everything in my new file. It’s time-consuming! If I publish the Kit UI library, as soon as I modify a component it’s reflected everywhere. As my projects are all different, this poses a problem. Thanks in advance for your help Have a nice day! Tom
Hi all, I would like to give a wallpaper effect for the background of page like in attached picture, how can I do this on Figma? Thank you in advance
As a beginner, I am slightly confused, when starting to design is there a general frame size for mobile apps that will look well on android and also iPhone?
Hi Figfam! We’ve been using the “Ready for Dev” status frequently, and the ability to add messages when making changes and compare with previous versions has been super helpful. Our developers were wondering if there’s a way to send automatic notifications (via Slack or email) when a new version is pushed/committed for a screen already marked as “Ready for Dev.” The goal is to alert them automatically when changes are made, so they know to review and compare updates. I checked the plugins and community, but couldn’t find a solution. Is there an endpoint in the Figma API or a possible workaround for this? Thanks!
I have the following code: const components = findComponentsInPage(componentPage); const selectedComponent = components.filter((component) => { return component.name === nameComponent; })[0]; try { console.log('Creating component instance...'); const componentInstance = selectedComponent.instance.createInstance(); selectedComponent has the following interface: interface IComponent { name: string; instance: ComponentNode; } So as you can see, I’m passing the ComponentNode to createInstance() function. However, I get the following error: Any ideas? I’m recovering the ComponentNode from the page.children by their name.
might be a dumb question but i can’t find the clip content setting in the new interface. can you help?
I need to see the hidden scrollable part on prototype, but on dev mode I don’t know how to see the content hidden
Has the possibility to create nested if/else blocks in prototyping been removed? Previously, you could create nested if/else statements by dragging and dropping one if/else into another, but I can’t get that to work anymore. Does anyone have a tip/workaround? Thanks in advance 😃
It’s been ages! Rasmus Andersson has even complained abt it, and he designed the logo! Can we pls fix it??? Is there any work being done about it??
Hi there, is there any working option how to link elements or create any kind of navigation through large FigJam board? It would be great for us to have a block in timeline and some linked description for it somewhere else. Is it possible?
As anyone managed to programmatically obtain Figma member images (like the ones available in FigJam through the stamp tool) and use them in Figma files Thumbnails? In large organizations with thousands of members, it is time consuming to maintain large libraries of people’s avatars, so a native utility would be super helpful. Has anyone in medim / large orgs. solved this differently?
Trying to figure out how to do something like this (playing animations with different delay/timing) on arbitrary lists of similar objects in Figma, w/o creating unique components for each list item or doing a super complex page setup. Is there a good way?
Latest updated Figma App is stop working. I can’t open it!
