Recently, it happens to me that if I edit, for example, I edit one color, it cannot be published. I still see the blue dot by the library, in the list I see that one color has changed, that it will be published and I emphasize that it is not hidden! After publishing it tells me that everything published fine, but the blue dot is still on the library icon and I still see that one color is about to be published. Then I don’t even see any update in the linked file. Sometimes it helps to reload all tabs. But it is terribly annoying and sometimes it leads to the fact that I search for a long time where the error is, and then I see that it simply does not publish and load. Nothing is updated. You can also see in the colors that the color is completely different than it shows (light gray vs. purple in the library…) If I change the color locally to another variable and then set the correct one again, the correct one is already there and it updates. Hi everyone! I am trying to clarify sharing options on Figma. We would like to give access to someone, but only to a specific page without access to any others. How does one go about it and would it be a paid seat in that case? We already use 2 paid seats for our employees.

So that clicking a menu item: closes any open sublevels without targeting all items directly by their name! reveals nested subitems of that particular clicked item. Principles are clear and I have a working proto, but the conditionals need optimising. Currently my version is really time-consuming to set up. How to set to hide/close all, instead of targeting every single item specifically?

I’m trying to toggle the visibility of a layer in my prototype. User unchecks checkbox, line in chart hides. User checks checkbox, line in chart shows. Achieved this using conditional logic & variables (see screenshot), but the interaction only works every 2 clicks, I swear this worked before the update to UI3.

Henlo Figma ppl! 👋 I’m trying to export a component as SVG, all fine and dandy except when I export it, the dashed strokes don’t appear to be the same as the ones in the design. In Figma, I have this simple box component, exported to SVG, and it looks off, here’s a comparison: Which has dashed lines off, Is this a bug? Anyway for me to fix this? I’d like to clarify a few things: Imagine we have bigdomain.com, and there’s another group using marketing.bigdomain.com that already has an Organization account. Now, I want to create my Organization account using the domain bigdomain.com, including everything that is *.bigdomain.com. Can the existing marketing.bigdomain.com account join our teams, and will they have access to our bigdomain.com organization’s libraries? Can bigdomain.com share a design system with someone in marketing.bigdomain.com without making them an “editor” in one of our teams? Who covers the costs? If they already pay through their organization marketing.bigdomain.com, will bigdomain.com also has to pay? What about a “Guest” with a Professional account? Do we need to pay for them to join one of our teams in bigdomain.com? I appreciate your guidance. Figma’s support has been slow to respond, despite my multiple emails.

I recently switched to using Variables in my design system and now applying new variables to components is a tedious process, especially when it comes to specifying the border (stroke) widths using variables. The variables icon appears only if one selects a custom set of strokes for an element and only after applying the same variable to each stroke position (top, left, right, bottom) the main stroke width input magically supports variables.

All the sudden, certain hover flows take secs to complete while others remain quick. Anyone know why this is happening? I checked to see if the new Figma design added a delay to hover events and theres nothing there. My interaction is set to instant. Sorry, I’ve looked everywhere and can’t find an answer to my specific question. I want my clients to be able to collaborate on my FigJam board. I do not want them to be able to delete boards and elements which seems to be what happens when you give them edit access. I don’t want to have to send every single person an invite live during the meeting as they are unlikely to click on the link before the meeting. I want to just provide the link to the FigJam board in the meeting. The thing is that that seems to allow them to only view the board, not collaborate on it. So net-net: edit is too much, view is not enough. What nuance about permissions might I be missing?

I was deleting a file and somehow another file just got disappeared. Can’t seem to find that in trash sections as well. Is there any other way to search that? Assuming I mistook the file and and deleted it and permanently trashed it. Is there any way to recover it? Thanks in advance.

Today, Figma switched me to the new UI3. At first I kind of liked it, but a few seconds later I realized I can no longer hide just the left panel (Shift+\ in the old UI) while keeping the right panel visible — now it’s “all or nothing” style. Disabled the new UI immediately and won’t switch back until this particular feature is restored. Anyone else feel the same?

I’m working on a proof-of-concept to generate code using our internal design system components for Figma designs. I’ve successfully linked our design system to a feature design file in Figma. Now, I want to confirm whether the Figma API will return data about these linked design system components. Specifically, I’m interested in whether the API response will reflect the relationship between the feature design elements and the underlying design system components, similar to how the relationship is displayed in the Figma inspect panel. Essentially, I need to know if the API provides enough information to identify which design system components are used within the feature design.

I applied for student status, but the process failed a few times. It looks like it had passed at the end, but I haven’t got any confirmation. My account now shows: “You’re verified…” Does that mean that the verification has passed? Can I create a team and start using it?

I have all similar issues here, very frustrating. It appears that Figma just isn’t designed to be usable within Firefox? Even using the native Windows Figma app will then prompt me to sign in on Firefox, and that sign in page is unusable.

I am trying to create a slider that moves freely. i have created a slider with 5 stops (speeds). I have to drag to each stop in order, but i would like to be able to click and select the speed. For example, i would like to click on speed 2 then be able to jump to speed 5 by either dragging to or clicking on the 5. Any ideas?

What if all the built-in AI features will be unavailable in the Figma-free plan after this year? Do you know if the users of the student plan can still be accessed next year?

Hi guys! I am working on a plugin right now that checks our icons for the fills. Using the Node Inspector plugin, I can easily see that when using styles, there’s a fillStyleId property. But couldn’t find the same for variables. Can someone help me with on how can I find them if they exist?
