Hey Andy, thank you for reaching out! I was not able to reproduce this bug on my end.

As our first troubleshooting step, can we try clearing out your cached files and see if that helps?

You can clear the desktop app cache on a Mac in the Help menu under Troubleshooting.

If you’d prefer to manually clear your cache you can:

1. Quit the Figma desktop app


2. Open Terminal.app and enter the following command: rm -rf “$HOME/Library/Application Support/Figma”


3. Try opening the desktop app again

On Windows under the toggle-arrow at the right of the top toolbar under Help > Troubleshooting.

If you’d prefer to manually clear your cache you can:

1. Close the Figma desktop app


2. Open the Start menu, and paste in this, followed by enter: %APPDATA%\Figma


3. In the window that opens, delete the Desktop and DesktopProfile folders if they exist


4. Launch the desktop app again

I’ve run into this issue, too.

I am a MacBook M1 user.

There is indeed this text style create bug on a Mac. I’m using a iMac M1. When I try to create a text style by using the plus sign initially nothing happens. I can’t create the text style as the text style creation window doesn’t pop up. They I noticed that when I drag this window outside the right column a then hit the plus sign, the text style creation window does appear again and I can create the style. I made a screen video that shows what is happening. As you can see when I hit the plus sign to create a style nothing happens at first. Then I drag this ‘text style’ window to the left outside the right column and try again. Then the text style creation window does appear again. So please have this bug fixed? Don’t know if this is happening just with Mac M1 users. You can check out the screen recording here:

• What browser are you seeing the issue in?

Been experiencing the same issue, hope this bug gets fixed soon! I’ve had to manually input each text style which has been very cumbersome.

Same issue happening to me. Im trying to create a new style in the Figma text pannel (using browser) but when hover to the + button nothing happens like even it is not clickable…! what is the problem and did you guys fixed it?

note: i already have couple of styles imported from the community (im following this video on figma youtube channel )

edit: i can add the new style from the single text something like for (Name)

but im not able to create new style for a paragraph!

@Anil_Kody Could you post a video of what happens when you try to create a new style? I’d like to get a visual of the behavior that happens.

This topic’s issue was addressed and confirmed as fixed back on 3/25, so a couple of things I want to check in on:

• Are you on the most current version of the Figma desktop app? Are you using the beta app instead?


• Are you also using Figma on the web? If so, do you see style creation issues there as well? helpful to know if this is platform-wide or isolated to the web or app.

Hi everyone!

I encountered this error today and was able to find a solution. To resolve this issue, you need to click on the text field where you are typing . This will cause the style creation box to appear. I have attached a file that may be helpful.
