Hi all, Does anyone know a quick way to get all the colors used in a Figma project, preferably in a json format, that I can take and plug into a tailwind.config file? I’ve tried a couple of plugins but they didn’t seem to work possibly because of the way the Figma file’s set up. Didn’t know if anyone knew of a built in method, that was quick and easy?

Hi, Hello!, I’m wondering if anyone can tell me how to extract / or export the colors from a Figma project (prefererably in json format) so I can plug them into a tailwind.config file. I’ve tried searching the internet and found a couple of plugins that were suggested but when I’ve tried using them I get nothing. Might possibly be due to how the projects set up, not sure. Just hoping there’s an easy, quick way to get that done.

When Figma shows a Font set as PTSans (created in a plain text field with no 100% opacity and no other overlays) why does the generally really good Anima app show it as a different colour? Pls see images. Figma font colours (like FFFFFF) are represented correctly by Anima for 95% of my Figma page design just not certain Text Fields? I have a switch that needs to simultaneously control two components. If the switch is on/true - the accompanying text changes color and gains a hover state, plus a frame with content appears elsewhere on the screen. If the switch is off/false - the text appears in a disabled color, and the content frame is hidden. I can handle showing/hiding content, but I can’t figure out the Figma logic to make everything else functional. Using conditionals is not working. The challenge is that this switch will be inside a list with multiple items, each with its own switch controlling its respective components. So, I can’t apply variables at the component level; everything has to be applied to each instance. I appreciate any suggestions. Please, Figma super geniuses, save my live!

I’m writing because i have just noticed that an old, but yet pretty important draft, is completely missing, i cannot see it in my deleted drafts nor in my other associated account, but i am pretty sure i’ve never deleted it since i haven’t opened Figma in quite a while. There’s any way to recover the draft?

Hi, I’m trying to figure out if I’m using the latest version of Figma. If I click the check for Updates button nothing is happening. The current version I’m using is 116.14.4

In my Figma file the line height for a text box is always in %, but it’d be better for me to control the numbers in px. Is there a way to toggle it? I know I can enter the desired px number and it’ll adjust to the % equivalent, but when supporting devs in creating styles, it’s be better for me to provide a px number. Sometimes I also need to have the typography be comparable to a print companion piece, which never gives leading in %. Anyone know if I’m stuck with creating line heights in %? Thanks in advance

Hello. I found a related post, but have a further question. (https://help.figma.com/hc/en-us/articles/25452227367703-FigJam-and-Google-Classroom) Is it possible to have students interact collectively- as a group within a board? I used Jamboard for this collective interaction and I would just share the link to the board. Can this be done without Google classroom? I work with teachers and educators and not everybody has a google classroom account. Thank you!

When I resize an image, I want it to stretch by default not crop: I know I can go here and set this setting to “crop” to get the behavior I want. (despite the counter intuitive name of “crop”) Is there a way to make this the default behavior? It’s weird that Figma’s default image behavior is different than nearly all other software.

Hi, usually I use variable’s modes to set the spacing, width, etc. for different viewports: desktop, tablet, and mobile views of my landing page (I don’t know if it’s the best practice,btw.) If I want to have dark and light mode on top of that, how to organize my variables’ modes? What will the structure looks like since variable modes are commonly used for dark and light mode in term of colors and the have been reserved to define the three viewports’ breakpoint properties? Should I have 6 modes? e.g Desktop-Light, Desktop-Dark, Tablet-Light,Tablet-Dark, Mobile-Light,Mobile Light? Well, It doesn’t seems right to me. Thanks!

Im following a tutorial on youtube about responsive design and the video shows the option to add a collection under appearance and switch between them to change the frame size. (from the video). is this a pro-plan function only?

I’m struggling… I look around and everybody is using the “.” or “_” to hide component when publishing, but my question is: Is the component published but “not” searchable? or is not published? The reason I ask is that I’ve had many instances where I use nested “core” components that I don’t want designer to use but they get out of sync and whenever you are using a component made of multiple “Core components” When you change properties it breaks and asks to update Core component with the little update dialog bottom right… Can someone with extensive knowledge in Figma library share what is the latest and what is the most optimal way to set this up… Currently I’ve got 2 libraries but only one is consumed by designer but its quite a pain and I wish I could just have one… Happy to hear some thoughts…

Hello, I am having difficulty understanding the subscription system. I subscribed to the professional version for two users for one year at $320. Now, it says that $90 has been deducted for one month, which implies that each month would cost $90 or more. I have not added any additional seats; I only assigned admin permissions to developers. Are there any additional charges for that?

I recently started working with Figma Slides! Normally I did this in a Design file because of the possibilities with prototypes. Slides seems to work a little better for presentations, so that’s very nice! However, I cannot manage something as simple as internal linking between slides. I’ve been searching the internet for a while now, but can’t find it. I also try to show a video in overlay using a button. I cannot manage this, just like the internal links. However, this is solved if linking between slides is possible. Then I will make an extra slide with the video. Does anyone know how I can accomplish this?

Hi! I’ve a bunch of designs in 1920x1080 for a TV app. I would like to scale them down to 1280x720. I tried with the ‘Scale’ tool manually, it does work but the text styles and blocs sizes are not whole numbers anymore, which is an issue for devs. Is there any other ways to do it with rounding all the values? (Plugins welcome). Thanks for your help!

I’m using auto-layout for this modal, just like I do for pretty much everything else, and I’m creating a modal, with a text field, and a dropdown. The dropdown should float above the buttons, and I’d prefer to do this with auto-layout. (I know I could use an overlay, it would be nice to control the z-index somehow though)

I can’t publish hole design system components on my Fimga local team. Is the issue the reason for the Beta version?

Hi everyone, The problem i’m facing is that if I use constraints in my design it seems they aren’t applied to the prototype. I did a simple design with a header fixed on top and a footer fixed to the bottom and in between a content zone with a top and bottom contraint. If I scale my main frame in Figma, no problem : the height of the content zone follows, if I do the same with my prototype : the height of the content zone seems to be fixed. A a result, depending on the resolution of the device I’m testing on, my content can be croped. Is there any workaround to do this ? I can’t attach a video to illustrate this because I’m new, but i will as soon as I can.

Hi, everyone. Would anyone happen to know how to shorten or rename a Figma slide deck before sharing? I don’t want a big link while sharing it with the client. I want the link to be more professional & relevant. I tried some link shortener plugins, but doesn’t seem to work on Figma slides

I think there is a bug with theming? Sections and frames are not accepting our appearance theming. I currently have to set the theme all the way at the element level compared to the container.

Hello, I’m rather new to Figma and currently learning about creating conditional interactions. It works as intended if I don’t add a hover interaction. However, once I add a hover interaction, it no longer works and the image revert to the default look. The hover interaction works, but clicking gets…strange? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Maybe I’m approaching this wrong and the foundation of my knowledge with prototyping has holes in it. Maybe I overlooked something. Here’s the link to the components. Link to Figma File. Thank you!

Is there any way to apply a local variable (language string) to a component’s text without detaching instance?

My design team is in the process of completing designs that were out-of-scope for our external design firm, working with their completed files. However, when selecting ‘Go to main component’ (of which there are countless instances!), the following message appears: ‘You do not have access to this file.’ This is greatly hindering our ability to work effectively with our Figma files.

Hi all, my toolbar in Figma program suddenly disappeared, and I don’t manage to make it come back. I saw similar issue sraised on this forum that it might be a bug. Does anybody have an advice? It’s highly appreciated
