Hello, I would like to know how to effectively use a design system in Figma. I have a few specific questions to make sure I’m following best practices: File Duplication : Should I start by duplicating the design system file and create my pages within this copy, or is there another recommended method? Quick Color Modification : In a large design system, what’s the best way to change colors globally and quickly? Are there any tips to avoid having to modify colors element by element? Publishing the Design System : When is it necessary to publish the design system in Figma? Should I publish after each modification or only at key moments? Thank you very much for your help!

Limiting the size of text with Auto Width property when it reaches the container boundary. At first glance the answer is the “Auto Height” property, which limits the text when it reaches the container boundary, e.g. autolayout, when the field is stretched to its full width with the Fill width property. But! Let’s say we are talking about text with an icon. I want the icon to come right after the text, and this is only possible with the Auto Height field. But then the size of my text field becomes unlimited, and the content can either go outside the container or be clipped by the Clip content property. Both options are clumsy and undesirable. It would seem that the Max width property could solve this problem, but it stops working properly for our task if our component is resizable. I’ve shown it clearly on the pic. Guys, any ideas how to solve this now? Or without a new property (e.g. max width = parent width) it’s unsolvable?

I don’t know what is happening to my Figma when ever I open the desktop app, it slows down and becomes like this

For a specific project I am working on, we are looking to identify elements by using the element IDs. However, whenever something changes on a given Figma page, the IDs are redistributed/updated, which makes it impossible to identify the elements by their element ID. Is there a way to prevent the element IDs from changing for existing elements even if other elements are added or existing ones are changed?

My plugin was removed due to copyright infringement but I don’t know why exactly they removed it because they didn’t give any detailed explanation. The (+ sign inside circle), + icon, on the frame is not showing so I can connect two frames, and do wireframing. i made web pages, now i want that when i click on one page it will bring me to the other page so my work will done. but Figma is not showing me the + icon so then i can connect two pages with the line the connector. Hi, is anyone else experiencing a buggy library sinds the new library update? Pushing updates takes ages to show in files where the library is added. When the update is shown in the file and you update your components nothing changes? you need to refresh the tab? Cheers, Sanny

I am making a music app for a school project. I am trying to do a horizontal line of a few items, which has a white square, image placed on top of the square and a title next to it. I was using the flatten button to do the first few items on the left, but then for some reason it stopped working. Whenever I would select the white background, the image and the text to flatten, the image would blow up and warp, but stay within the confines of their original size. This was the case no matter if I merged the image and the box first, or the image and the text, or the text and the box, etc. Same issue when trying to use ‘union selection’, except when I went to take a screenshot it started making all the elements disappear except one so that’s fun

Why are my side panels not undocking (even though it is UI3, they are fixed on (constrained on) sides and top and bottom. I really love the new UI3 look, really frustrated that I could not see it in my interface. 😥

I created a vector (on the left) from a picture (on the right). I’m wondering how to fill different parts of the figure with different colors? And related question: Left hand of Shmebulock is splitted from the arm with a narrow line. When I tried change width for path segment only the whole path is changed. Hello, I’v had this issue on few projects. Text layer is not hidden, but cannot visible on a screen. If I click text on a screen, then it sudden appears. It’s same visible issue with presentation mode, too. I guess it’s about memory issue, because many objects inside the project. What’s about? And how to solve this issue? Please help.

In Figma Slides, I can’t seem to edit the bounding boxes on text. This makes it impossible for example to change the font of a subsentence because it can’t be selected. “How can I make the blue box bigger without making the text bigger too?”

Is there a way to substitute the values of inherited variables from other files in my library? For instance, I want to have the color variable “Error” be #ff4040 in master file while having that very same variable be #F02090 in a different file I’m working on- Additionally that variable is being used in various asset instances that I call from the master file. So, if I inserted an asset component with “Error”(#ff4040) background color from my library, it would have #f02090 as its background in the current file.

Hi everyone! I’m trying to open a file, but it wont load. I have the same problem in desktop app and online. When I trying to open this file, I got this tip “we experiencing issue open this file”.
