When using the Export function directly from text, the resulting .png file is slightly cutting/cropping the text (both on the bottom and the right-hand side of the resulting .png file.) It is subtle and maybe just 1pm but the resulting file looks like it was badly just badly cropped. The font in question is “Days One”. Can’t share image here for proprietary reasons but wondering if others have run into this issue.

Hi, I work on enterprise software and have been using Figma for about 4 years. I’m looking for best practices around prototyping with components from a library. Example: The design system is a published library The design system contains all the usual things inc. a nav component Work on a new feature is being done in a separate file When prototyping the site or app in the work file using the nav from the design system, I’ve been: wrapping the design system nav in a local component linking nav items to all the pages in the local nav placing instances of the local nav on all the pages tweaking each instance of the local nav so it lights the correct menu item for the page its on This works fine, but there’s lots of spaghetti code. It seems like I’m missing something. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

When hitting the file endpoint, I am getting a 400 error with an error message of Request timeout, try a smaller request. In Figma, I am able to access this file so it isn’t private or anything. Could this be that the file is just too large?

Text has stopped being displayed in all files today. At the same time, everything is in place during playback. Has anyone had such a problem and what can be done?

Corner smoothing in Figma doesn’t seem to work when the radius is 50% or 1/2 the height of the rectangle aka pills or rounded buttons. If you look at Airbnb’s or Apple’s pills, they appear to have a corner smoothing applied. Is there a workaround to get this effect in this scenario or is it something we just need to communicate to engineers when handing off designs?

I created a scrolling marquee but I cant get to slow it down even after setting the duration to 10000. Can anyone pls help? This is urgent. thanks so much!

I created multi layered components in Figma and imported design system in sticker library. However, I cannot snap connector inside these multi-layered component object. However, I have press Cmd+Drag and Drop anywhere I want and it sticks there but when object is expanded due, the location of the connector stays at the same place and not moving with the original placed location.

Hello, I have a project using Figma REST API to get a Figma file and read some of the properties of a component Instance. A component has another instance as a children which is hidden. The hidden instance has a text layer child. A few days ago I was able to read the properties of this specific child but now it seems like it is not returned: the hidden instance has empty array as for the children collection. Is this expected now because this was introduced a couple of days ago and is not documented neither in the REST API docs nor in the changelog. Is there a way I can bypass this? Thanks.

Is currently so annoying when we need to work on text in Figma… We can’t do anchor text like indesign for example If pasting from a document, chatgpt or anything we can’t select to apply the current styles or variables ( needs to be manual ) we can’t even use a google doc to implement the main styles and Figma to convert Can Someone at Figma give more power on the writing part ? Copy Text and Paste applying Figma Font styles + anchor text to split text and continues on the next part should be already here

It’s so discouraging and annoying when working in Figma via web browser (on iPad) and the persistent “Open int the Figma App” it’s recommended when in the first place the Figma app is basically a limited “FILE BROWSER” with ZERO functionality. NO. NO. NO. Please don’t ask me to open my file via an App where my file is basically my productivity go’s down to Zero/Nothing. Now, if the App had full iPad functionality - then we’re talking.

Hi, I observed a weird situation in the Figma Mobile app while playing a prototype, thinking this could be a bug. Anyone could help? Please see in the screenshots an example. What I tried to do: by clicking on the “Name 1” button in the “Name Screen”, assign the value of “Name 1” to a local variable “Bug Typed Name”, then navigate to the “Final Screen” and show the value of the variable “Bug Typed Name” (so, “Name 1”) in a text box. What works well on both Figma desktop app and Figma mobile app (1st scenario): If I pass the variable value from one screen to another “immediately”, like what is shown in the screenshots between the “Name Screen 1” Frame to the “Final Screen 1” Frame, it works correctly on both apps - desktop and mobile. What works correctly only on Figma Desktop app, but DOES NOT work on the mobile app (2nd scenario): If I add couple of “additional” frames between the “Name Screen” and the “Final Screen” frames (see the flow between “Name Screen 2” and “Final Screen 2”

Hello, I’m new to Figma in terms of creating designs and for the life of me I cannot find out how to edit a text label in a component I am using from Material Design 3 assets. See below screenshot. How do you customise text? I’m sure it’s something easy once I know how or I don’t have permission. Apologies if this covered else where. Google and searching didn’t return a simple answer. Thanks.

This seems so basic, but I can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong. I’m using the free plan for a personal project – I created the one team allowed, added three associated files, and invited my collaborators to join it as editors. I expected once they did so, they would all have (inherited) permissions to edit all three included files, as described in the documentation. Instead I still needed to grant them individual edit access to each of the files. See attached screenshots, 6 people “can edit” the project, but within any given file, only I get permission to do so based on my membership in the team.

Hi Figma Community, Upon looking at the usage data of our components within the Figma library analytics, I’ve noticed some discrepancies when delving into deeper levels of analysis. Below, I’ve included a screenshot depicting these discrepancies at the instance level. You can observe that the total count displayed at the top doesn’t align with the sum of individual values. Has anyone else encountered a similar issue? Any insights would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Tarun.

The component centering and alignment tool is broken. Please pay attention to the recent update. Since I have a new interface, a number of functions have broken, one of them being the alignment and centering inside the component

I need to create a prototype for user testing. I have the following user flow The user registers and navigates to the dashboard, which has a disabled state. after some time passes (it can take up to a month) the user receives an e-mail, that says that their registration was confirmed now the user can navigate to the dashboard which is not disabled anymore. I was thinking about adding some auxiliary buttons that are not part of the initial UI and will trigger this time pass. Something like “click here to imitate a time pass” But I failed to find any examples of someone doing it. Is it a good idea to add non-UI triggers to the prototype? Could it temper with the user testing? Is there another way to test this flow?

Hello, I have a problem that I didn’t have before… I’ve created a simple rectangle component with text inside. I’ve created 2 instances, and I’ve modified the text of one of the two instances. The problem is that in preview mode, the hover of this instance keeps the text of the main component! I didn’t have this problem before. Can someone please explain what’s changed and what the solution is? Thanks in advance

Is there a plugin or a function in Figma that can show when a frame was create? ** scenario ** I have a a file with over 20 designs - each design is created in its own frame I have 2 pages “current design” and “Archive” In the Archive I have the 19 designs that where not approved but the client has changed his mind and what’s the design we spoke about on the 19th of may I have no idea which frame was created on that date. Is there any way to create this with out manually have to add a text field with the date and time above each design or in the frame layer ? Thanks

I really can’t scroll any further down while in presentation mode, but I put all elements in an auto layout Frame and I have a horizontal padding of 50. But I don’t have any space in presentation mode underneath the last element although I have a padding underneath it. I am also in responsive mode while presentation. By mistake on 19 Nov 20204 1:00 PM my team got Deleted while I was managing files. So went to see on Google to see how I can recover where I found that confirmation mail will be delivered where within 28days you can recover your account but issue is that I didn’t receive any confirmation mail from Figma.

I have a question about the text variable feature. I am creating a soundtrack page where the color changes to a light red when hovering, and to a darker red when clicked. I used the “click → change to” component for this. However, I want to use the text variable feature to change the title of the currently playing music when a track is clicked. But when I try to add a variable to the “click → change” action in the prototype animation, either the “change to” function doesn’t work, or the variable feature doesn’t work. Is it possible to implement both at the same time?

Objective: I want to link the options of the dropdown list to the display below it. i.e. when I select game 1, the view of game 1 will appear below. now I have the interactions defined on the dropdown list - set variable and change state, but none of them works when running. Before I added set variable interaction, the dropdown worked, it just didn’t change the view below. if someone could point out what I’ve done wrong. many thanks Figma – 21 Nov 24
