I’ve designed a motorcycle entirely from vectors shapes and to get both side symetrical I created a component for the left half of the content and then duplicated it and flipped it horizontally to create the other half.

Now I want to merge the two sides together into a single shape. Some shapes have a stroke which is creating an unwanted line down the middle.

I have duplicated both sides of the design and detached them from the original component and I am going object by object trying to combine the two seperate sides of each into a single vector.

The difficulty I’m having is that when I delete the lines that sit between the two shapes, the fills on both are deleted. Some fills have taken time to get right and include a base colour and one or more gradients.

I have tried adding new joining lines between the two sides and then deleting the ones that are now unecessary but the fills always vanish.

Below example shows two shapes that have been flattened into one. I have connected them with the short horizontal lines at the top and bottom and want to delete the vertical lines without losing the fill.

Kind regards,

Jamie
