So I got a master component in my published library, which has auto layout. Why auto layout is removed and not usable in an instance of that component? If I activate auto layout on that instance, it doesn’t apply it to the component. Instead it auto layouts in a new outer frame, which is not helpful.

Hello, I am unable to right click on the colors in my color library and therefore I am unable to edit the name of each colors. Currently, I would like to delete a few colors but it is not possible. I have been just creating this color library for the design file I am working on. I did not find any useful answers to my questions as my problem is that Figma does not offer edit or delete to me. Thank you for any help.

I mean the pseudo-bold that’s applied when a user hits Command + B while using an already defined text style. There are so many other text options it seems surprising that you can’t do this. It would really simplify our design system’s font styles this was a thing.

I know the answer is in here somewhere but my search skills are failing me. This is about the “disappearing image fill” issue. Everything is seemingly linked properly (library updates), the component is being used, etc… but the image fill looks blank. I remember seeing a workaround (jumping through several hoops) in here that would fix it, but cannot find it. Anyone?

When we embed a FigJam project it defaults to fitting everything on the canvas within the window which means you are forever zooming into embeds. Are there any parameters that allows us to start at 100% and focus on the center of the canvas? Cheers

Hi, I would like to set the color of my shadows with a color variable. I know this isn’t possible with color styles, but does anyone know if it’s now possible now somehow? Hack is ok 😅 Otherwise, I feel having the same component between different variable modes would look strange because the shadow color would have to be the same for all modes, right? Thanks

Please search for existing topics before posting! Press 🔍 at the upper right to search. I searched for “View Only” and didn’t see any discussions. When I came in today, a file I created and am the only one editing it has become “view only.” I can no longer edit it. I clicked “ask for permission” but I don’t know who would get that - I’m the only one in my company editing this document. Anyone else having this issue? Actually two out of the 5-6 files I worked on Friday now have this problem. I can’t edit them.

Hi, I Imported a sketch file into Figma with the Library included. I pulled the designs out of the library file and all instances are still connected to the original components. I now updated these components with the correct properties and published them, but the instances in the seperate design file are not updating their properties. Is there a reason why or is there a way to update a placed instance?

When working with the plugin API. We can extract color data by accessing the fill / strokes properties. During development I have come to the situation where I want to extract the final color of a node, let’s say a rectangle. By final color I mean the color the user actually sees on the Figma canvas. To simplify let’s assume our rectangle has only fills set. From experimenting I know that the color appearing on the screen comes from the combination of blending of the fills array for the node, which is also affected by opacity of the fills, the nodes opacity and by the colors of nodes that don’t have opacity 1 and are before it on the z-axis, then if our fills (or the resulting color at this point) doesn’t have opacity one by the colors of nodes behind it on the z-axis. Trying to calculate it myself I end up with a computation heavy operation if I would want to get the colors of each node in a layout (or the entire document). Hi everyone. We want to enable SCIM provisioning in our Org. We are using two tenants of Figma (due to security reasons), with designers either working on one of those or not, with the same domain adress. With SCIM we face the problem, that the email invite and validation coming from Figma is going nowhere, because the “Unique identifier” is not the an mail adress with an mbox. So “Domain Capture” would be the choice, but we are still unsure what will happen to a user, who is working on one tenant, not the other. Also, we want to test that on our “Sandbox” tenant, but also here, when we activate “Domain capture” for the sandbox, will all of our users be drawn there, and cannot access the other tenants? Has anyone of you Enterprise admins has experience in that? Thanks!

If clicking directly on the component in your Figma file is causing it to become disproportionate or messy

How can I delete a component property in bulk? I’m managing a set of 7000 icons variants, each component having a common property. Manually removing unnecessary properties by individually clicking on each one is time-consuming. How can I efficiently delete this 7000 properties from the components?

I would like to transform a group of elements individually in Figma as opposed to in a group. In Illustrator you can select the “transform each” option to achieve this.

Hi, i have a parent node containing some vectors sub-nodes, when i resize manually the parent node (to let’s say half of the size), width, height, and absoluteBoundingBox give me the new dimensions (after rescale), but absoluteRenderBounds gives me the previous dimensions. (before rescale) Is that intended ? Is there any way i can know about the scaling factor of that node ? I have seen that relativeTransform is not used for scaling. Thanks

Can I change the default layout grid when creating a new slide (without needing to duplicate another one). Right now when I create a new slides using the button or the shortcut it’s the default grid from the default template even using a published template.

As part of my Figma plugin, I want to export selected frames to single PDF. I found this global option to “export frames to PDF” which can do the job. Other options don’t work well as expected. How can I do this from within the plugin code? I tried using ‘pdf-lib’ node module. But Figma doesn’t allow me to use any libraries. Is there a Figma API that can export all selected frames into single PDF without the use of external libraries? A help here would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I DID SEARCH THE EXISTING TOPICS, THERES NO MENTION OF PUTTING MULTIPLE HORIZONTAL CAROUSELS INTO A SINGLE PAGE IN FIGMA. So the boss wants an interactive way to flip through UI designs in one page. I got the rest of it down, there’s a menu bar with 4 buttons, they have 6 graphic styles and each of those 6 styles comes in rectangular buttons and oval buttons. I have it set up so the user can click the buttons to flip through the placeholder carousel of items in the main screen, but i also need the entire bottom section under the nav bar to have variations of that space in a carousel that the user can also flip through. So how do i put a self contained carousel into an already large page with an existing carousel and multiple button options? I can find nothing even close to explain this. All i want to do is drop a carousel onto my page and have it stay the same from page to page unless the user wants to change it. Is it not even possible?

The variable font menu has drastically changed today from yesterday. It previously looked like it does in my screen shot and in Figma’s documentation. Today the UI has changed so drastically I can no longer figure out how to manipulate the axis settings (screen shot attached). It seems I can only select presets now and no longer tweak settings incrementally with slides, which is much preferred!! Did I accidentally change something in Figma’s increasingly complex UI or is this a permanent update in the software?

I have an autolayout in the main frame that contains other frames When I drag the cursor over the frame in autolayout to resize it, it resizes all the content (other frames) towards the center and it is right that it behaves like this. I tried deleting autolayout on the main frame and then putting it back without changing anything and this time when I resize, it no longer behaves as before, but the frame in the autolayout moves to the right without resizing. Why? What about this behaviour? Davide
