Hi there! Sorry to hear this is happening. The support team replied you with all the details about your billing (they have adjusted your invoice for your information.) Please check your inbox. (Your ticket number is 1044876)
For people who may encounter the similar issue, this usually happens because there are added seats outside the original annual agreement.
As a reminder, Figma plans are tied to specific teams instead of to individual user accounts. This means that the team is responsible for paying for all editors invited to the team or invite to edit on resources within the team.
Here are a few resources where you can learn about managing seats and team permissions. Additionally, I recommend having an admin set up email notifications to receive an alert when a full seat is upgraded, as well. You can see more about notifications here.
If you’d like to prevent additional charges in the future, we recommend setting your user type to ‘Viewer-Restricted’ as the default. This will then require Admin approval for a user to be upgraded to a paid Full seat. Our Help Center provides instructions on how to do this.
Hope this clarifies!
This happened to our team too, quite a few times, and i agree, that it’s really not clear how it works.
Figma should give you a warning message AT LEAST when you send out editor links, AND give you an approval email BEFORE it starts automatically charging you.
I’ve also just run into this issue, I’ve just been charged for several people who are all on other paid accounts. This is a pretty big oversight.
Hey Kalin, I understand why it’s annoying. If you haven’t already, please get in touch with our support team for help correcting seat numbers & charges by filling out this form: https://help.figma.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
Had the same issue. That is just not a good way to do business. At least warn people that they will be charged but yeah i understand that you will get less money that way. i just hope you love customers more than sucking money out of them.
