FigJam has a lot of potential in delivering a cohesive brainstorming tool. FigJam currently offers a pen tool to write and draw free-hand. However, this tool does not work on an iPad. No one likes to write or draw with a mouse, so support for Apple Pencil and other touch-based interfaces would move the needle further towards being a great whiteboarding tool.
Yep, just passed on using this tool because no iPad/touch support. It’s a shame, because figjam is better than most tools I’ve tried for online sync and general UI. But nobody wants to whiteboard with a mouse.
As a FigJam Beta user I´d love to use an iPad + Pencil so that I can easily create wireframes, brainstorm and collaborate with my team mates.
Bummed… this was my main use case for requesting an iPad Pro from work. As far as features go, it’s a no-brainer.
This would be a great tool for us, needless to say +1 here 👍
I really need this feature, so this app can be more competitive with InVision Freehand, which has an iPadOS app that enables pencil support. Please add ASAP! 🤗
My org is currently using Miro but we’ve been trying out Figjam and we love it. However, for any projects that require tablet drawing, the experience is like night and day. Figjam needs Apple Pencil / iPad support, meanwhile I’m back to using Miro for this single project ☹
100% need this. FigJam is way better than invision freehand and this would make it perfect
As a product manager, I mostly use whiteboard tools to help digitally capture notes, sketches, and brainstorms that would normally end up on multiple sheets of paper scattered across my desk. It’s great both for keeping things organized and discoverable and de-cluttering my workspace. I’ve been really happy using Miro on my iPad + Apple pencil for this (really easy to use for notetaking during meetings or working on while having other things up on my desktop monitor). My org wants to make the switch over to FigJam but not having this supported makes the switch particularly hard for me.
Hi Figma Team!
When do you plan to support Ipad + apple pencil? Its very important for me 😦
What a HUGE LOL! Still no support for iPad and Pencil… I have no idea how you guys are spending your latest $50M seed round money… Literally a shame.
For what is worth, FigJam does work fairly well with Microsoft Surface devices and pen support. However, there is no control to ‘undo’ or erase something, you’ll need to rely on your keyboard to hit Ctrl+z to undo your last step.
Pencil support (albeit rudimentary) in Miro is the only reason I haven’t transferred all my work to Figma / FigJam. Being able to do everything (exploratory to pixel perfect) in one platform is a dream.
YES! I would love to be able to use my Surface Pen more readily with FigJam. MS is still floundering a bit with a good whiteboard for collaborating online, and my team is using Figma more and more. This would be a great feature!
In particular I’d like to see the surface pen eraser be able to function as an eraser, and if the surface pen button would pull up the context menu in Figma/FigJam.
I fully agree. I’m using Miro right now as it supports Apple Pencil (double tap to change to eraser). I need the exact same support in FigJam otherwise the tool is not made for my use case (sketching in figjam).
This is one of the big things holding me back from using FigJam instead of Miro. A native app would be preferred, but having it work in the browser would be a huge improvement as well. A common team brainstorming/design activity we use is for me to roughly sketch out concepts while the team gives real-time feedback. Mouse-only whiteboards are extremely difficult to use as true whiteboard drawing tools.
Yes Please!! In our increasingly distributed working environments, having tools that approximate synchronous, co-located whiteboarding sessions will be very useful. It would be a boon for my team to be able to use Figjam on our iPads with Pencil. Thanks!!
Agree. Will be a great plus to have native iPad app.
Even better, if iPadOS app will have PencilKit support with extra ability to control angle, pressure, etc.
Yes, Miro have iPad support but the way how it worked is not good. The line is not precise.
+1 <3

Would be an absolute game changer! +9 (for all on my team!)
Come on FIGJAM !!!, kick Miro’s butt and give all us messy people that like sketching touch interface support! This would seriously delight me if I could use my iPad.
It is available on the iPad as of today!
You can create and edit Figjam files in the Figma app on iPad.
Doesn’t seem to have palm rejection support yet, so while drawing with Apple Pencil I have a lot of little dots where my hand rests.
Still using Miro for android, When would the release happen for android ?
Thanks for the Pencil support on iPad. Palm/Finger drawing rejection would be super useful. I also have many little dots and lines all over the place. Miro does this really well.
