FigJam has a lot of potential in delivering a cohesive brainstorming tool. FigJam currently offers a pen tool to write and draw free-hand. However, this tool does not work on an iPad. No one likes to write or draw with a mouse, so support for Apple Pencil and other touch-based interfaces would move the needle further towards being a great whiteboarding tool.

Glad they released it. 🙌 I am missing some touch-based interactions though to work more efficiently. E.g.: Double-tap to zoom in, tap with two fingers to ‘undo’, and tap with three fingers to ‘redo’. Anyone else thinks this would speed up their process?

A fantastic addition!

One quick question: The Erase tool will only erase the entire object/sketch/line. There doesn’t appear to be an option to erase a section of the object/sketch/line.

Is Figma planning to change this to allow a choice between Erase All and Erase Partial?

Tried out Figjam with Apple pencil on the iPad. Pretty good so far, but would love to have palm/finger rejection when using pencil. Not very intuitive now to use due to random dots and lines caused by finger/palm.

I have noticed that haha. I was marking up some designs a day or two ago and there were hundreds of little dots all over the canvas from where my palm was hitting.

Two finger/Three finger undo/redo would also be superb on the iPad.

Procreate does this well. They even have a webpage going over the feature with developer tools. Take it! Take our Undo Gesture! - Procreate®️ Insight

This is super lame. What the hell. There’s no point having a drawing tool in Figjam AT ALL if you don’t support drawing pens and hardware.

I tried to use the pen to draw in Figjam on a Microsoft Surface and it’s still garbage because Figjam doesn’t work with the eraser or do palm rejection or allow you to use the pen button(s). I pointed this out back out in 2019. Many in design need a full computer + a digital drawing tablet. You either get a Mac+iPad Pro or simply get a Microsoft Surface and get it all. There’s a LOT of Surface PCs out there. They are fantastic for drawing in other apps (ie competing apps) that actually support drawing.

Guessing this is no longer an issue?
