I installed Figma beta but I need to delete the previous Figma. But I don’t want the work I did there to be deleted.

Are you referring to the advanced prototyping? This is not related to the beta, this feature is already available in Figma for any paid plan.

Hi there,
Rest assured, uninstalling the previous version of Figma and installing Figma Beta won’t delete your work, as long as your files are saved to your Figma account or the cloud!

Since Figma is cloud-based, your files are automatically saved and backed up as long as you’re connected to the internet, so you don’t have to worry about losing your work.

For additional information when Figma is offline, you can check our Help Center guide here:

Yes, all Figma users can join the Figma beta, it’s free!

Just to clarify, you have downloaded the beta version of Desktop app (which is the beta version of app). By using the beta version of the app, you’re helping Figma test bug fixes and performance improvements, before we release them to the general public. The beta version does not give you access to features Figma hasn’t released yet.

For your information, beta types refer to the level of access:

  • Beta / Open beta: All Figma users can join the beta
  • Closed beta: Only users who receive an invite can join the beta
  • Limited beta: The beta is available to all Figma users, but is limited to a certain number of beta users
