I’m a newbie, though I have worked on a quite a lot of Figma templates already. With this one though, I am facing a problem where the upon selecting an object, the entire group is getting selected.

It’s hard to tell exactly what’s going on in the screenshot, but to select elements within a group or nested frame you can hold down ctrl/command and click through. You can also right click to get the context menu which will let you select the nested layer.
