Template type file


I know there’s a few older threads talking about standard templates for orgs and projects. But they’re locked with nothing happening.

Can I request a simpler template type? Could it be possible to save a Fig as a ‘template’ so that it forces users to start a new file with that Fig? a .figt if you like.
(Sketch does something similar to this, or going oldschool MS .Dotx file type for word docs…).

In our enterprise account, we have a lot of users who have full edit rights, but are not Figma super users, so invariably always end up editing the template master. Plus it’s just easier than instructing everyone ‘Duplicate this to your files’… then they ask how, because under the chevron is not intuitive/does not make sense to them. Or we get requests to Edit the locked file from members from other teams.
