Is it a toggle button and check box share similar function?

A toggle and a check box are similar, but they can ultimately have different functions. A toggle usually switches either on or off, while a checkbox is either checked or unchecked. It will depend on how you want the interactive component to behave in relation to the rest of your design/prototype.
