Previously I’ve used the “starred items” function to have a quick way to open key files on projects I’m currently working on (without mixing up copies or branches of the main file, which happens on the “recently viewed” tab).
It appears Figma is removing the starred items section from the sidebar.
Is there a better way to ‘pin’ specific files that are SHARED with me (not owned by me, and saved within a team I’m not part of), so I can find/access them more easily than going via Recents > Shared Files.
You should be able to click on the star icon on these shared files.
Can you make us a short video of what happens when you try to star a folder? Please include as much of the file browser as possible so we can try and replicate and identify the issue on our side.
Can you also confirm if this is happening in the desktop app or the file browser?
I can star items, but it prompts me to then move/remove them in the sidebar in the desktop app. Screenshot attached.
I can’t/don’t wish to move these to my own team, which is the only option given. I just want to pin them to the sidebar for easy access, so I don’t have to go down a rabbit hole to find those exact files every time I need to open them.
Hi I’m also having trouble with starred files. I’m trying to star a file SHARED with me, not owned by me and in a team I’m not part of.
From the canvas I select the dropdown next to the filename, then ‘Add to sidebar’ > ‘Starred’.
I get the message: ‘section not found’. There is a starred section in the sidebar, and I have successfully starred files (my own and/or within my team).
Can you explain? I am using desktop app; thanks
Same issue. I can only “star” files that I own. But I have clients that share files with me all the time, and I have to constantly dig through tons of shared files to find the right one. I think a user should be able to star any file they want, regardless of ownership.
