It often happens after I make changes to the design. In the past, the prototype would just update the interface, now it flashes and turns into darkness. The only way to solve the problem is to reopen it.
I am having this issue as well. I don’t know what’s causing it. I have a support ticket open about it but we haven’t resolved the issue yet. It’s crashing a lot in pretty important situations for me.
There are 2 solutions that we can give you.
- You can clear the cache and cookies of the browser.
- If you’re using Figma in a web browser, consider downloading the desktop app. This can help reduce the strain on your browser and improve the performance of Figma.
Thank you for your reply. I think I have cleared cookies before, and I do use the desktop app. I will keep you updated if it happens again.
I have the same problem. It goes to a green screen and I have to restart it. Just had a user interview of an hour, had to restart 5 times.
I’m experiencing broken links in a prototype that was working fine yesterday. Has something changed overnight? There seem to be a lot of prototyping issues cropping up.
I’m working on a presentation for tomorrow, and the prototype is crashing constantly in both the web and Figma app. I tried reducing the number of steps I’m showing, and it’s still crashing. I’ve followed all the usual suggested remedies.
For me, this started soon after the big feature drop. I know the crash type – WebGL fails – but it’s not clear what to do about. Usually it means I need to update Chrome, but Chrome keeps saying it’s up-to-date.
EDIT: Came back here because someone liked the post (my sympathies, fellow traveler). In this case, it was because I needed to update my graphics card driver – an update that wasn’t pushed to me until a number of days of dealing with Figma crashing.
